No, but the battery has been changed so it’s easier to replace it has a metal casing as well now so it’s heavier and adds to the rigidness of the iphones frame.
My guess - the need to CNC the outgoing nand off, is simply because otherwise you would have to remove every bit of glue in order to float the nand off by heating, any obstacle to removal would necessitate further heating which could prove destructive!?
Sadly when you check your phone with the serial number it says it's still 256GB. Your serial holds from size to the color... Yes, you have 1TB in reality, but it's a Frankenstein phone. No "real" 1TB from Apple.
