It definitely throws me off. I bought my Model 3 in 2018 partly because I appreciated that Tesla did not nickel and dime their customers. Now they’re choosing to be as greedy as everyone else? I guess Elon isn’t pleased with his income. Maybe in the future, they’ll start charging for software updates, too.
Personally I believe the future is a battery subscription. There is no need for a town car to carry around an extra 250 miles of weight/capacity until you need it for a road trip (1 x per year?). Your range would jump 25% from weight reduction alone. Drive into an automated bay and swap to a 3-400 mile battery prior to the trip and you are good to go.
Well, every other car manufacturers charge for everything anyway, especially the high end ones. Try BMW, Porsche etc. They charge you to death for each upgrade. Tesla is no different.
Pretty sure many Tesla owners haven’t like Elon in a while. But Elon isn’t the product. And unfortunately there’s nothing gas related that compares to my car without spending at least 20-30k or more.
That range locking is ridiculous.
Just buy TSLA stock to offset any of that.
