Qnd the brother thing....is either any of the above. And or the fact theyve known each other since they were children. Very young. And met many times over the years so tht plus all the similarities i mentioned could make dagur. In his crazy logic ignoring his bullying. Hiccups brother.
Dagur literally has a wife, Mala, that he's in love with. Not mention he calls Hiccup is his brother and even says so in his letter to Heather and he pretty much hates Viggo from the beginning.

Dagur has... never shown interest in woman, and never even met Mala until that ep where they were suddenly, randomly inlove with eachother for no apparent reason... they are way to different in personality, theres no build up, and they don't even have the same values so no way they hooked up so quickly. Meanwhile on the other hand. Dagur was outright *obsessed* with Hiccup.
