I have been tempted, I was lucky of what clips were available for 1984, although I have been tempted to do songs that have 1 or 2 live appearances, Fun Fact! Who Do You Want To Be actually did have a Music Video recorded, but was never released, the only photo I've seen of it is Danny surfing the crowd while a camera is pointed at him, but maybe in the future I'll make another video like this

@@sirtigalotwolfe2962 He also knew about nuclear winter before it was coined. He hints about it in the 1982 song “Nothing To Fear” but it did not become part of the common parlance until Carl Sagan did a public service announcement to educate and warn people about nuclear winter in 1983. So it probably confused people when they first listened to it, what does he mean the temperatures starting to drop? He has to have been reading scientific journals as a hobby!

@@Razor12704 i can't get behind his (danny's) views of socialism at the time, but in the interview he was kind of spot on about the more subtle ways we're told to think. i've never read 1984, i can kind of get the gist of it, and i know the whole "big brother" thing is something a LOT of libertarians or whatever use, but when you look at the song in the lens of the context provided by danny, it's still pretty darn relevant imo. sure, we've made big improvements in some ways, but i don't think we're ever going to be free of the ways big corporations and the government encourage people to think so that they can uphold the harmful system that keeps the USA running the way it is. not until there's a revolution of some kind, anyways. the illusion of freedom is key. i am very grateful to live in a country where I am free to say what I want, but the constant argument of "We live in a free country, stop complaining" is a pivotal one that keeps things the way they are. there's certainly an.. "orwellian" aspect to the modern condition of places like the USA, it's just more insidious. that's my take anyways lol not trying to sound crazy or anything...
@@GremlinJohnny if you're referring to Danny's rants during Capitalism, it wasn't serious, it was never serious, although he got too into character and the line couldn't be drawn, pretty sure one of the reasons Gibbs left the band was that, Danny was just obsessed with literature at the time, No Spill Blood was also based on lines from a book, yeah USA is kinda goofy because it sucks, but most the time these comments are about COVID and Vaccines, and that's why I give them a hard time

according to something i heard from someone else, danny had said he came back from his trip to africa with a more patriotic attitude. at US '83 he also started the song by saying "if you're a young socialist, i hope you practice what you preach, this is about one who doesn't." (smth like that) from an Independent article, he says, “I just basically make fun of everybody, and I didn’t see anybody as being protected from that,” he added.

in "waiting for you" it says "You’ll put the commies in their place"... though i'm not really sure what it means in the context of the song. could be making fun of someone or could just be a line he added to voice frustrations about.. commies i guess idk lol
I don't think he hated socialists or anything, but many people say the entirety of capitalism is a joke and i just don't really agree. I think it's just satirical in general and mocks both "middle class socialist brats" and right-wingers. also yeah you gotta be careful about these comments most of them are about that kinda stuff lol. i was mainly giving my own take on why i thought it was still relevant. also i forgot to say but i love your music video! also didn't know that might've been one of the reasons gibbs left
@@GremlinJohnny during the 70s and 80s Commies were a big scare all around America, it wasn't just politics it was like war lol, capitalism has to be a joke, it wouldn't make sense if every song on Only A Lad was a joke besides Capitalism, he's making fun of everyone on that album

Really curious what synth is in the bottom tier - I determined the top one and the singular one being played are Moog Sources. I'm always curious what bands played on stage in this era...
I know for sure they did use a moog (even on songs like Into The Fire (All The Pieces)) but i am unsure on what other synths, Richard Gibbs does use facebook, so maybe someone can ask
