Growing up in the bay myself, I’ve heard non stop about the zodiac killer. But this is the first time somebody made it digestible. Thank you and keep up the great videos.
Ohhhhh boy oh boy I could not be more excited. What a subject forrest, best notification I could have possibly received. Thanks so much for taking time to make this.
It really is such an interesting topic. It's so scary thinking of the mindset this monster must have been in to murder, I mean just imagine the thought going through his head. And the fact he would just blend back into society any given day after murdering people the night before. To me, as a person who is envious of other people's relationships because I don't have my own, it seems like that may have been his motivation since he attacked couples. The kill of the taxi driver may have just been more impulsive and less calculated. He might have even wanted to be caught, so killing that man right in the street would make it more of a risky kill. Maybe he got off on that in a way. Like he was thinking of how amazing it would be to get away with that.
@imyourgodmachine I had several suggestions to do it. You might have been the only one but I don’t remember because I receive so many comments I can’t keep up with them.
Australian fan here. Very excited to see another FH video drop, especially on this subject. It amazes me how much this area of California looks like parts of Australia. Particularly the eucalyptus trees.
The eucalyptus trees were actually brought here from Australia during the California gold rush. They grow quick and the hope was for construction and railroad ties, but the wood is too soft.
@@forresthaggertychannel4301 They are not a very useful tree. Highly flammable and also quite dangerous. A few people get killed each year in Australia with boughs falling on them. Thank you for the video.
@@User-mj9hv I beg to disagree as there are over 700+ Eucalyptus species. All of Australia's east coast railway network was built using sleepers of certain gum species ex - Red Box, White Box, Red Gum, Iron bark etc. at one stage (now replaced with concrete). Those gums at the first murder location look like Eucalyptus Viminalis (Manna gum or Ribbon gum) which is a softer wood in the gum family and alot faster growing than the harder gums which can take decades to grow to useful size.
It's so interesting because you get a picture in your head of how these murders went down, and the location you imagine is so much more lively than the real place. This kind of video really drives it back home, that these were just regular people living regular lives that were cut short, and not some folktale that they've essentially become over the years

I cannot wait for episode #2 ..I keep checking my notifications for it hoping it will magically appear.. Awesome job on episode #1 I am a huge true crime junkie as you can tell by my enthusiasm for the next video..
I’m hoping it will be out by Monday.
@@forresthaggertychannel4301That's awesome news..I will be watching..
I love your videos! Thank you for blessing us with this!
You are so welcome!
Forrest has a new video out... better sit back with a beer! Excellent as always... and fascinating. It's easy to say, "the guy must have been nuts"... but in reality - something must have gone very wrong way before the murders. I'd be very interested in exploring the childhood/upbringing of these types of killers... I don't think people are just bore evil (I've got more hope in humanity than that). There are no excuses... but perhaps their backstory brings some sort of context?
As always, excellent attention to detail. Looking forward to part 2 and 3 👍
damn why youtube hasnt recommended ur videos for me. i have missed a dozen. Gotta hit that bell
