just what we all need a great fly that is easy to make with another easy to follow video presented by an expert who makes them all look easy keep up the good work davie many thanks leonard
Hi Davie Just came back from a trip from Scotland and this fly was my best dry fly all week even in different colours they still took it. Thanks for sharing. Regards Richie
That's the first time I've seen deer hair broken off that way. It looks perfect, I must try it. You think you've seen it all then Davie shows a new trick! Top notch.
Back when you were tying this, I didn't have too many hook styles to tie on. I was pretty much using Mustad. Now there are a number of new styles and makes. This is a pretty nice pattern and I like Emerger patterns. You could use a Double Decker I think it's called. I had a weird dream last night. We were having dinner at a place way above a river. There were others there but we were laughing our heads off over fishing stories. Weird Davie, but I got a text this morning from an old friend who said I appeared in her dream with my dog. She wanted to know if I was okay.
Good stuff again Davie! This wee fly would be deadly for the wild Irish brownie's over here!and on my local small still water for the rainbows!nice one Davie keep on whipping them up!
hi davie this an excellant fly i like to use it in a fast run very early in the morning on the river slaney and when im on the lake i usually use it near the end of the evening when theres lots of action cheers
Mr McPhail, I am not very experienced at fly tying but I find your videos very helpful and learn something new from every video I watch. I tried the method of breaking off the deer hair that you show in this video but the hair will not break as it does in your video. Is there any reason for this?
Hi Davie, You are truly an artist! The question I have is how do you get tight wraps with 8/0 without it breaking? It seems like anytime I use 70 denier or 8/0 I have this problem. It may be just my inexperience but any suggestions you have would be appreciated!
Hi Jim, I still get asked to tye on the B100 for certain flies like Snatchers and lightly dressed Buzzers though if you play the fish too hard they can open out... All the very best Davie...
