absolute game changer! Brilliant technique for Tricos- no need for 2 fly system. This works as a single fly that's visible and takes fish keyed on spinners

At 60, I'm just now starting to tie - can't find decent flies around here anymore. Seeing you with the glasses gives me hope that my eyes will still let me. I'm up to 2.50 strength and now my depth perception is starting to go south too. I'll end up as one of those guys with a tennis ball hanging from the garage ceiling at windshield height to let me know how far to pull in...lol Great videos.

For this style of fly (comparadun) is the shuck color always the same as the wing color? What would you suggest for tying a version of this to imitate a hendrickson?
    Thanks, Brian

Well, I like simple quick to tie flies, Soon the BWO # 16 and 18's will be showing up as the season really gets rolling, once it warms up some near zero temps this past week and over a foot of new snow. It's already pushed my trout fishing back a couple of weeks.

Brilliant as always. You never use head cement in the videos. Is that because you simply don't show it (it's always the same deal) or because you don't thin it's necessary?

Would love to see a 20 or 22 tied...the camera is close enough, we'll see it.....its not true that you can't see them on camera. The "ease" to tying this fly, is do a #16.

Isn't that called a sparkle dun? I thought sparkle duns had the shuck and compara duns had the mayfly tailing.

pretty much, sparkle dun has hair wing and a dub body antron tail/shuck , compara dun has hair wing, dub body and feather tail they are all very close. KG
