    I think we are throwing any Jinjer at you we can come up with because we enjoy your input, and how you get the odd love we have for them. We're into the B tracks now, lol!

    Agree completely. It's a good song, got some catchy bits, but definitely nowhere near their new stuff. It's cool, because you can see bits and pieces of what they would become down the road. I refer to this phase as baby Jinjer. Still fun though.

    This song was straight aggression, agreed. But there are songs off this same album that really point to what Jinjer is becoming. No Hoard of Value has a lot of those progressive elements and feels like there are 5 different but somehow cohesive songs included in just the one track and the title track, Cloud Factory is just fantastic.

    Multifaceted and complex songwriting that does not fail to be catching was my first impression of this band. This is what attracted me to them before I was into extreme metal at all. So on my first run through albums I saw this song as one of the generic as well. This album, Cloud factory is influenced by a lot of things, generally groove metal, but the real thing that unites all those songs is the incredible raw metal energy. I know a lot of people from the region of Ukraine that they come from, and it's this brutally straightforward vibe that they have, that I also get from this album. The song itself stands out as being pure hardcore punk, and nothing like they ever released. While I'm not big on this genre, with some more metal listening experience I can now appreciate this simple energetic song with fitting lyrics

    spot on thoughts I will say, though when this song shows up in my music feed I immediately want to mosh my brains out. every singe time. but I do LOVE the new stuff even more, but not always making me want to move the same way.

      Their newer stuff is a lot *trickier* to move to. Tatiana's ability to fluidly move to their songs on stage is kind of amazing.

    This song is from Cloud Factory (2014), which, for me, is the 1st proper Jinjer album. This album is not nearly as progressive as their more recent stuff, with not nearly as much jazz influence in particular. However, it does include the reggae-ish outro to Who Is Gonna Be the One with Tatiana's wonderful jazzy vocals. I find Tatiana's vocals, especially her cleans, much improved on this album, with a generally less nasal, cleaner, smokier, & more natural or relaxed sound. Perhaps most importantly (to me), it's a highly socially & politically conscious album, which I consider to be a very important ingredient of Jinjer. I have their earlier albums because I'm a fan of the band, I have this album (& all subsequent ones) because I *love* it.
    Having said all of that, this is my least favourite song on the album by a pretty wide margin - it really sounds like it belongs on their previous album.

    Hello John, hope you're keeping well. Thought I'd seem every Jinjer video out there but somehow missed this one. To be honest, if I had heard this track randomly I would not have been able to immediately recognize it as Jinjer and that's a first.

    Yeah so I love this song. For me I just love how hard Tati goes. Same thing with Scissors and Cloud Factory. I am kind of old school when it comes to metal. In my day metal women did not exist. So I just love this shit. Tati is a beast.

    I'm with you 100%. I never liked scream/growl music mostly because it sounded much like this. I'm all about the prog, vocal variety, ghost notes, time signature bending modern Jinjer.

    They feel the anger I felt at Sepultura, they also put "this something" into the music and lyrics.
    btw, Jinjer right now, when he writes, they are playing at Poland Rock Festval, almost at my house :)

    Between the translations I've seen of the lyrics, the fact that it's all in Russian which is the primary language of the region, and the period it was released, I interpret it as an explanation to their fans in the Donbass why they moved to the west of Ukraine when the war started there in 2014. Just for fun, I recommend watching the bootleg of it from Manifesto Bar in Sao Paulo Brazil uploaded by Nilson. The fans screaming the lyrics make me feel inadequately hardcore as a Jinjer fan but dammmm! \m/ \m/.

    To me it's just really hard to stay satisfied with prog elements without this kind of passion and ferocity waiting in the wings to spice things up. I'm still so much of a metalhead that for all my cerebral thoughts, sometimes my head just wants to bang and the spirit of this track just refuses to die. You can't play this into the ground because it'll ground you first. Love it!

    Agree with most points made and good honest reaction. I always enjoy your breakdowns of songs and usually find another reason to like songs I've already loved for a while. If you want to check out another Jinjer song I'd suggest Noah and On the top, both great songs.

    I feel like it's got kind of a thrashy feel, which I like about old Jinjer. Seeing how they've grown as a band of course changes how you look at the older stuff.
    If you'd like to hear some dynamic really doom-ish Belgian metal, I can recommend you Amenra.

    Retrospection opens in Russian with the vocals. I think this is the only complete song in Russian on any of their world wide releases. I don't know the language so I'm no help with translation.

    Yeah it's a great banger for a workout, but not anywhere near what they write now. I think there was a huge difference when Vlad joined the band, I know he wrote a lot of the wallflower tracks. They're all great but Vlad is sick between his ghost notes, hi-hat abuse (hehe) and songwriting. My fav song from this album (cloud factory) is a plus or minus, sick track.

    Jinjer - The Prophecy ua-cam.com/video/3hCmE5D89KY/v-deo.html
    I think you will like this one - it's newer (from Macro) and with Vlad on the drums, so you will get it. I can always hear the Jinjer in their older stuff, but it was (like you said) more straight forward - angsty and energy-driven metalcore. It was them playing and figuring out their own sound and style. It's all badass the same. It is always cool to see you swoon over their sound and give your perspective.

    It was an unfinished song, pure filler. Tati didn't even have time to translate it. Cloud Factory is a mess of an album. It's all over the place. Fortunately, Eugene would take over song writing and album production after this.

    • @rofyle
      @rofyle 2 роки тому

      @@georgerodionov5941 except that it's not wrong. Max Morton has even said so himself. Eugene composes the music. Until their newest album Wallflowers which Vlad composed. Roman writes the riffs, Eugene composes the music.

    • @georgerodionov5941
      @georgerodionov5941 2 роки тому +1

      @@rofyle I mean the unfinished/filler/no time to translate. The song is simple not because it's unfinished, but because the intention was so. Tatiana wrote the lyrics for her previous band, but they remained unused untill this album. So she asked guys to write a hardcore song that whould fit the lyrics. Understanding the lyrics, it does sound powerfull. So, you may not like the song, but it's certainly finished, and the native tounge lyrics are certainly intentional

    Jinjer really changed when they no longer had 2 guitarists. Then after Vlad joined it really took a left turn and got away from "standard" music like this track. I like their older stuff a lot, but you're right. It just doesn't compare to what they are doing today and that's the way it should be.
