A biased pick from me cause I love Oreo's vocals on this!
Thanks for this amazing request man. “Dragonet” is the song that made me fall in love with DOLL$BOXX
I grew up with the rock gods (Hendrix, Clapton, Santana, Duane Allman etc) when I was a young male but in my honest opinion, the start of this song with, Oreo's haunting vocals and Tomo-zo's amazing guitar riffs, is one of the most beautiful and powerful openings for a rock song that I have ever heard.
To give some background on the hiatus. Doll$boxx (DB) has one album from 2012 (after Fuki first helped out GS) and then one EP from 2017 (with a tour in 2018). In between GS carried on without a lead vocalist (Hana and Oreo shared vocals from behind the drums and keyboard) and Fuki went back to being busy with all her other stuff.
In 2019 Angie and Yuri joined GS and now at 5 years is the longest the band has gone without a member change (and they've said this is their final formation) so it seemed that DB would not return.
However, last November at the show you just watched Nanmaida from, they announced DB will return in 2024 (Japanese tour in December). There's currently nothing in GS schedule after July, so speculation is that they may be writing and recording new DB material then before the tour...
DB best Japanese Female Band, imo. Tetapi the Superb Lovely Band tentu saja GS❤
Adding to the speculation on the future of DOLL$BOXX... Unlucky Morpheus have recently released an album under the name Unholy Orpheus with Fuki being a guest vocalist on just one track. Fuki has also just released some solo material of her own. This could leave Fuki free for the second half of this year. Gacharic Spin have been making a big effort to engage with their international fans, but international touring might be problematic for them at present with drummer Yuri having a young child to care for. With GS having crammed a lot of new material into the last year the door is very much open for new DOLL$BOXX recordings linked to their December shows in Japan, and I'd say there's a very good chance of international dates early in 2025. It might just be wishful thinking, but the stars are aligning nicely.
@@FourBleats I'm not ruling out new DB material (I so hope that they do) but even though the Unholy Orpheus stuff has comes out, Unlucky Morpheus is still playing a few times each month until November. I'm sure Fuki and GS are hard working enough they can make both happen though! :)
Two more performances by the inimitable FUKI to experience:
- DOLL$BOXX, TAKE MY CHANCE (OMV)
- UNLUCKY MORPHEOUS, BLACK PENTAGRAM (Live!)
GACHAPIN announced that DOLLS$BOXX will reunite in 2024, performing again on a GACHARIC SPIN-DOLL$BOX double bill. I’m hoping for some new music.
JW reaction for Unlucky Morpheus coming soon(ish) - Knight of Sword - live
Dollsboxx X ghacaric spin forever 🔥
Insightful as always. Great job.
The cool thing about Doll$boxx is that they released one full album and for the album they released a MV for each and every song. They also released an EP and a couple of DVDs.
Well, almost. The last song on Doll’s Apartment is a hidden cover of GS’ Nudirhythm, which they didn’t do a video for. Too bad, I love that version of the song.
The MV is amazing with a dark gothic beauty to it. But I prefer the live version because Tomozo's guitar and Oreo's vocals comes through better.
Banger song and it was really fun watching you pick it apart Also "Great hand"? What's attached to that hand is pretty great too 😆
Thanks! And it was “great hat” 😅
@@JWSoundworks2 Whoops I guess I misheard it 🤭Doesn't help that she had her arm out the exact moment you made that comment😅
❤❤❤❤❤🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 Gacharic Spins Evil Twins rock !!!!
There’s a live recording of ‘ the day that the world brakes down’ from Ayreon. Seemed hard to pull off, live, but they did a fantastic job imo. Maybe you want to have a look.
Please reaction to FUKI’s band UnluckyMorpheus . My favorite band.
I have done, on my Patreon. Will be coming to UA-cam soon.
I think that bassist has been listening to Tomohito Aoki, incredible stuff.
Hi, please revisit Wintersun, go for Time live. It is such a beautiful song, guarantee you`ll enjoy it.

Well, believe it or not, the guitar is in standard tuning LOL
Tomo-Zo somehow gets a heavy sound without downtuning (although they downtune on some of their latest Gachapin stuff, at least they use drop D tuning).
She is playing the powerchords with heavy emphasis on the 2 low strings (the c-minor is played 3/3/5/5 on the low four strings).
What kind of surprises me is that you didn't pick up on her heavy use of the 9-chord. She uses it so much if she is not playing the root chord or a minor chord.
Other than that, you got your analysis down to a T. Learning Tomo-Zo riffs during a reaction is pretty hard, since she has so many little things going on all the time, so kudos to you for trying and getting there half way!!!!! Yay!
In case you'll react to more D$B, her use of the whammy pedal on her solos is absolutely impressive.
Have a nice one :)
I remember being rather tired when I filmed that one, so that’s probably why I didn’t notice. I just heard the root note being C and thinking that if the guitarist is playing the top string it’d have to be down to C (and who doesn’t use the top string to play root notes in heavy music!?).
I’ve actually gone into detail about adding the 5th note to the bottom of a powerchord as well as the top before, so for whatever reason I just didn’t hear it here. I knew by the time I was working out the last note of the solo that she couldn’t have been tuned down or she wouldn’t have been able to reach it, but I didn’t mention it on camera as I was already too far in. That’s what happens when you go all-in on your first take.
Oh, and P.S, not hearing something and not mentioning something are two different things. 👍😊
@@JWSoundworks2 haha, yep 2 all - I knew that you figured it out with the top note, but I just had to pull your leg a bit 😝
Can't wait to nitpick on the next one :D
React Abim Finger Guitaris from indonesia😊
@@hendrakuhu5757 I was wondering where you were! I was worried for a second!
Yes, I learned to really appreciate inverted powerchords from this EP as Tomo-zo uses them all over it, they sound super chunky and gnarly without getting in the way of the bass or muddying up the sound or losing any upward range
I'd heard them used here and there before and even used them a few times myself when faking drop-tuning playing with others, but I think this EP is one of the best examples of their use I've come across
Waiting for to react @abim finger young guitarist from indonesia
