bornholm55 either stock visal enhancements or Enviromental visual enhancements + scatter. The skybox is from texture replacer, the planetary reflection is planet shine. A modpack I recommend is KSPRE, it is outdated, but there's instructions to get it to work on KSP 1.2 on the mod forum thread. That has beautiful visuals and looks like real life.
Precisely, I use SVE, scatterer, Texture Replacer, PlanetShine and Distant Object Enhancement, among others. I'm glad you like the video, too!

How do you make those circular habitats?
They are not circular in strict sense, but they consist of 4 parts that cover roughly 90deg of the circle. Just take your time to adjust the rotation on each cabin and use radial symmetry modifier. Good luck!

I'm suffering to send Mun expedition team and this guy just shoots the space station in one piece into the orbit... well, I only played for 9 hours so I guess I can't expect more from my skill and equipment available... :p
With the "new" aero stuff i have found that putting such non-aerodynamic payloads into the tail of the heavy lifters is way easier, then drag is making your flight control easier and not harder. If you require a second stage for the final push to orbit then put it into the front of the payload in reverse direction, once near orbit separate the heavy part and flip the thing around before orbital burn. My latest lift with such design was a huge drilling station for minmus (large array of drills, big converter and an orange tank + wheels to drive it around). Breeze to fly althrough aerodynamics were worse than a brick on the payload itself.

I think on the real world there should be more struts connecting the booster and the station or else everything might fall apart upon launching

Do you use any structural mods? I feel like when I launch things that complex they wobble themselves to pieces but your construction is basically strut-free! How it it that stable with the only point of connection being a single docking port, and other flimsy attachments?
I used autostrut and rigid attachment. That reinforces connection between parts in strut-like manner without adding physical parts.

I got mine to space using this same thing. Its a smaller space station and i didnt recover the boosters, but im happy it got in a good orbit.

*Very* pretty, big DS9-a-like station there. :-) A shame it's so jarringly obvious that you had to turn structural physics off with auto-strut for that launch though.
I just used autostrut. It's all played with normal settings and without any cheats - as a matter of fact the debug menu doesn't work for me when I have scatterer installed. Try it yourself, the craft file is in the description for you to download. Cheers!

Heh. Maybe once I'm set up on a new Ryzen system. Frame rate on this old PC is already getting problematic for YouTubing my modest Minmus base as it is. Was going to look into mods then too, so cheers for the heads up on potential Scatter bug.
For now I've kinda been having a KSP playing break, just testing things, trying to update the wiki's info on thermal mechanics: drills, converters, radiators, other odds along the way. Slowly.
