I used to win small amounts regularly on the National Lottery. The newsagent who used to pay me out actually got annoyed about it. He thought I had inside info ! The most I won was £1040. I had to go to the Post Office to cash that one.

Matt: he made me play a game were I'd only get money if I stuck a knife through my bare foot.
The blackjack segment made my brain hurt on a number of levels. Good sleight of hand but the dealer will know what you have, you can't touch the cards at all and if you'd stolen cards from the casino last week they'd know about it.
Craven did the wisdom of crowds to figure out where the uss Scorpion went down . Or was it the undetonated nuke accidentally dropped in the med. Which ever it was it worked. He faired rhe best esucated fuesses of a bunch of disagreeing experts- but he developed a mathematical formula for it applied to a nautical map

There is no such thing as a sure fire gambling system, not unless you cheat like he did with the lottery draw. Casinos are fire tested: if there was an exploitable weakness someone would have utilized it, the weakness would be identified, and finally it would be patched. It's like an efficient market.
@@Hermaeusmora5042 Yes he did. He replaced the normal balls with specially designed ones. He didn't "officially" admit to it, but he laid out how he did it at the end of the show. I mean, the alternative is his wackadoo "system" created the winning lottery numbers, and I'll believe he used a time machine to fetch the numbers from the future before I believe that.

@@P4T5H4RPify He was a little vague, but what he describes as "definitely not happening" (out of the blue, so read as 'this is what really happened') was finding a way to access the balls used in the lottery and replacing them with differently weighted and magnetic balls that allowed him to manipulate the outcome. There's something he's still not saying though, because unless he was super-confident he wouldn't be charged it was still a pretty risky stunt. I think he must have had some kind of agreement in place, but who knows.

I've generated a million random coin tosses on my computer, with totally random odds, and there was zero advantage to using Derren's trick.

You have to remember, the audience who come to Derren's shows knows what he is like. This is of course an act. Derren in reality is a very kind, and actually a very shy man when he is not on TV or on stage.

The predicting lotto numbers was "just a trick" - a very easy camera trick. Simple as that. He wasted an entire one hour programme to misdirect you in thinking he did it another way. He didn't. Simple camera trick. None of the 44 minutes of BS he poured out in the first episode.
