When I was younger my grandma used to cook the rabbits that we got while we were out hunting and the way she cooked them was in a cast iron skillet adding so flour and I think dehydrated milk to make a gravy and wow was it good. But as you all know duplicating grandmother's cooking is next to impossible.

For the mashed potatoes, try to dry out the potatoes after draining them. Also, heat the milk before using. For an extra kick, add garlic cloves to boil with the potatoes and mash them.

Looks delicious. Rabbit is a seriously underrated meat. I raise rabbits and I raise 40 lbs of meat from conception to freezer in 3 to 4 months with only 3 breeding rabbits.
What if I had more rabbits like 12?
@@Barisdagame10 females and two males will multiply into 2000 or more rabbits in a year or less. In terms of meat, That's about two and a half to three tons.
Just tried rabbit tonight for the first time, whilst having people over for dinner. Went wonderful; my uncle - who is never adventurous with his meats - liked it well enough, and deeply appreciated the presentation of the dish (rabbit carcass served on mashed potato).
I've gone through many different videos on how to prepare rabbit for tonight, but I want to leave this comment on this video because of the presentation ideas.
My rabbit came out dry as I put it in the oven, but the flavour was still very clear.
I wanted to say thank you for the great marinades and tips!
We cooked our 1st meat rabbit tonight and it turned out fabulous!!
I went with more of a cilantro/lime approach, but using the butter to baste did make a world of difference in keeping the rabbit from drying out on the grill. I agree that the full rabbit (not pieced up) does take a little getting used to.
We've eaten wild rabbit before which does have a bit of gamey taste, but farm raised has zero game taste.
My wife's first comment was: it tastes exactly like chicken!! Even my 5 & 9 year old girls loved it!
Looking forward to doing BBQ and a Rabbit Curry sounds outstanding too.
It was a food first experience for us.
Thanks again!
I love hunting and cooking rabbit, this is what I needed to convince my wife! Thank you. I salute fellow hunters who do it right!
Guga: "I'm really known for my meat"
*Hey.*
Glad to know you are a hunter! One of my favorite memories is bringing home squirrels I had shot that morning. While I got ready for work, my Dad would clean them and Mom would make buttermilk biscuits and squirrel gravy. Add some sliced tomatoes and it was heavenly. A perfect breakfast to hold me through a workday.
I think this is domestic rabbit, but I tried it with marsh rabbit here in the south and it tasted pretty good
im watching this while my pet rabbit is in my lap, craving for attention. my mouth is watering RN.

Great video! I raise rabbits, and this is pretty much how I've been grilling mine for years. You are correct, the marinade makes all the difference. You can get so many different flavor profiles experimenting with different marinade ingredients. I'd love to see your take on other rabbit recipes!
Very underrated meat. Rabbit is absolutely amazing. Good job Guga!
That looked amazing! As always, I love watching your channel and always enjoy the end with you and Angel.

I grew up on a rabbit farm. Rabbit hearts are my favorite food in the world.
I love rabbit, it's so delicious. I had a neighbor, she raised them, butchered and sold them to Country Garden Markets, she was a awesome, old fashioned, hard worker, did everything on her farm, she was a great down home cook too. That was years ago. Way before the government cracked down on regulations regarding real food. They have no problems with approving processed crap that's creating health issues now days, but anything healthy or whole they want to ban. I miss not being able to get rabbit meat. Or venison and any of the wild game I grew up eating. I miss it all.
This looks really delicious and brings back great memories.❤✌🏼
CAn you do some lamb grilling Mr. Guga?

I love rabbit. I usually make it in a red wine shallot sauce but I'll try this too
Thank you for supporting the rabbit industry for people who raise for meat. Rabbits used to be a huge meat source but theses animal savers think they are pets. There not. Love the videos great job.

As a former meatrabbit breeder/harvester/cook, I thank you for referring to the meat as rabbit. Always check the liver for spots, and you can never add too much butter to the lean meat of rabbit. Grilling is amazing, but frying is incomparable
What do you mean with spots on the Liver?
YES!! As a dedicated rabbit breeder of MANY years, thank you so much for this video!! I've passed it on to a meat rabbit group I'm in, too, and I suspect you can expect a bunch of them here soon. :)
Absolutely, sous vide some rabbit; please talk about working with leaner meats and marinades, since that can change the flavor profile and be very confusing to work with.
YEAH!! Rabbits rule!! :)
I like how you pronounce "is done". It really gives an impression that's its definitely done, if that makes sense. Also it's a very soothing tone.

So easy, so simple, I added a little liquid smoke to the marinade. I cooked it next to my brats and it was so good. I rarely keep any recipes but I had to write this down for the 2-3 rabbits/squirrels I eat per year.

When I was little and visiting my nans trailer in NS, she would do up "country chicken" for me and my sister. Mr. Guga you should start cooking other wild animals please such as deer! Let’s duit!
Looking forward to trying this recipe. Very nice presentation with your gorgeous mashed potatoes.
I think rabbit is an excellent meat source animal. They take up very little space to raise, they can reproduce several times a year, and the fur is excellent as well. Seems like a very sustainable option for those of us who love eating meat but hate the climate impact and other negative aspects of feed lots.
You should definitely make more videos with different meats. I love kangaroo for example. Also ostrich, elk and bison of course. Great steaks
Sam is right, the only way to eat a coney is with a few good taters.
This looks amazing, definitely will have to try this recipe out
Excellent job, you’re an impressive cook and I really enjoy your videos. Thank you.
