One of my favorite series and a very popular one amongst collectors. Very very nice examples! Love those big old heavy seated dollars! Thanks for sharing!
Havent got to get a seated dollar yet but one of the few things my Collection is missing. Love the seated coins. Great video as always and thanks for the history on NO mint. Learn something new every time I watch your videos
Great collection, I just acquired a pair of Seated Dollars, and a 20 cent piece a few weeks ago. I think I’m just lacking the quarter to complete the set.
Awesome set bro! Love the stories behind the NO mint. I was just there and visited the museum on the 4th of July. It's a great place to check out. I have already completed a type set similar to yours but am no upgrading it to all proofs. Thanks for sharing!
Very cool to hear that you visited the NO Mint - it is for sure on my bucket list, so much history there! Also, I would love to have a type set of all proofs like you are describing..that would be incredible
Maybe the 20¢ piece was made because something that was frequently purchased cost 20¢. From what I know, the 3¢ pieces were minted because that was the price of postage stamps at the time...
Wow man, great set! You probably have seen these go way up in value since you got them... I'd be curious to know what you paid for them. I just finished my Seated Set, but I need to send off 3 of them for grading, I want them all slabbed. New Subscriber...
Hey Pirate Stacker, thanks for subbing, just subbed ya back. Yes, all of these seated liberty coins have appreciated in value, but strangely none more than the half dime, which is worth almost twice as much as when I bought it. The next closest is the dollar, which has gone up by 40%
Question for anyone who’s familiar with seated dollars. On pcgs CoinFacts it says the 1871 seated dollar is very common in circulated grades but then it also says that the estimated population in all grades is approximately 3000. They say the 3000 number is raw and graded. Seems to me to be a contradiction.
Hi Russell, you're right, that does appear to be a contradiction. First of all, for a coin that had over 1 million minted, 3000 seems a very low survival rate, although I'm sure most have been melted down. I think the fact that there is very, very few of these coins that are in non-circulated grades and that you can easily find circulated examples available for sale contributes toward their analysis.

Sweet collection!!
Thanks Web Alexander ;)
Some Nice looking Coins there Big Stacks
Much appreciated, Zeus!
interesting on 20cent vs quarter...curious about that too. Makes me wonder why 20 dollar bill became the norm instead of a 25 dollar bill
Man, what a great question, nr - very insightful!
