I decided to go for a quick run to Goodwill and to my surprise, I walked out with a full cart. Check out my unexpected Goodwill haul where I picked up so much boho decor.
My name is Laura and I am a full time vintage shop owner and I've been self employed for 8 years selling my vintage finds online, in flea markets and local vintage malls. I love to resell 2nd hand and vintage items so they can live a second (or third or fourth) life!

I was in thrift store today. I came home and watched your video. I literally had just seen that exact coffee pot there l did not know what it was so i left it. Laura, great finds! I am originally from Bavaria and that beer stein you found is a tremendous find and would cost quite a bit. It is a limited edition and hand-made (Handarbeit). I would have snatched that up in a heartbeat. The lion is the symbol for Bavaria and he is holding the crest with the Bavarian flag.
Laura, I just love your Left Coast Revival videos! The Recycled life videos are sometimes too chaotic for me! I usually watch them without sound! But I love your individual style of filming and love your ‘re-cap in the car!’ Keep on doin’ just what you’re doin’!
I think the copper thingy with 4 circular depressions could be an Advent "wreath", especially since there are leaf prints around the perimeter. You would put 3 purple candles and one pink one for the 4 weeks of Advent before Christmas.
After looking them up, I think you're right. Many are made of pewter.

I am in the Midwest in our Goodwill‘s are just as much if not more and our quality is 1/10 as good as her Goodwill‘s
they are very disappointing to say the least!
I maybe buy something every fifth time I go In
I feel like blowing it off and not go in but then I do find something cool... mostly I try to support the independent Shops!

Seriously??? Do we just keep and use things longer, here in the midwest? Is that why we're always chiming in with what 1950s thing she's bought is used for....because we still have one ourselves? My friend's parents still have their 1950s refrigerator. They won't get a new one because, well, that one is still running. Maybe that's it. I don't know. Doesn't explain why our dollar trees don't have what's shown on UA-cam either. It's really frustrating.
@@annehenry6243 or people just hang on to things longer. Or sell them at auctions or garage sales. I’ve never seen the abundance of nice things at goodwills around here like she has found.

*Haha yes!* And it's funny u said that cuz I just came across a mirror at an estate sale that kinda reminded me of the clock or something from that movie.
You are such a cutie and remind me of me at the same age. (I'm 72 now!) I thought I'd let you know that FooDogs came from Foochow, China and really were huge, vicious dogs that guarded the emperor's castle. They looked like lions and were called lion dogs. Today's chows are descendants. Since lesser wealthy men couldn't own the real dogs so they placed these statues outside the doors of their homes. The female is the one with her paw on a puppy. The male has its paw on the ball or earth. It looks like yours is male. I am a retired art teacher and museum teacher. I love all things Chinese. Keep up the great thrifting! I went to Leavenworth back in the day. took a train from Seattle, had a sleigh ride, horse draw in the snow! magical!
I absolutely enjoy your videos and the nature you have of being friendly to everyone you meet and then relate that friendliness to all of us who are your fans. Your shopping trips are much fun for me personally since I'm presently recovering from an illness and taking treatments and doing therapy. My 2 close friends and I spent our times thrifting for ourselves and our collections. COVID stopped us but now shops have reopened and I can't walk like before being on a walker and trying to transition to a cane. ...Thank you for providing everyone with entertainment and your good spirit which makes us all see where we can be friendly with this world of diverse people as you are. ...I pray you and yours and everyone be safe and well. ...Happy Easter!!!

I too love beauty and history over trendy. Buying 2nd hand beautiful functional pieces instead of trendy junk, saves the planet too from landfills becoming bloated pits of junk! Thank you Laura for all the ideas and education!!!

My grandma had a pair of those exact foo dog bookends. My uncle has them now she has passed. They will always remind me of her 💕
The blue fu dog? I remember when my grandmother had those-I think she liked Asian influence in artifacts- I’m 75 now so you can imagine how long ago that was-thank you so much for the history on these selections. Oh, I d think that was an old muffin holder.
When I was a kid in the 60s, my parents had a coffee and end tables that was tiled like your tray is. It brought back good memories 😊

Good find on the Chemex coffee maker for $6.99! The original Chemex goes back to 1941. The current retail price of a regular Chemex is around $45.00. However, if it is a handblown one they retail for over $100 depending on the size. I have been using the Chemex style with the handle for the last few years.

An random idea: would it be possible to have a video series in which each video centers around a certain brand (or style) of pottery, metal, etc...?
For example, to learn how to date those pieces, to recognize them, which are the rare vs. common ones, how to style them...
I live in EU and for example I love mid-century West Germany pottery 😊

Nice purchase, Laura ! The beer stein at 11:51 is a typical tourist item from Bavaria, Germany, and shows the Bavarian arms: lion and what we call "Rautenmuster". Not very old, perhaps from the 70s or 80s, but nevertheless a handpainted item. Greets from GER, U.

Great finds....can't believe your Goodwills are that nice. I just can't buy pillows, I think of dirty hair, feet, animals on them....and dust!! Same with shoes, just can't wear shoes that someone else's sweaty feet were in!! :)

I’m so glad you came by today!!! I was watching another video and got the notification and... well, see ya other video! Ha. I have the long basket you turned down. I put a a couple of cotton t-towels in it and toss my dinner rolls in it for when we host family dinners. That way they don’t get all squished. Once again, love your finds.
