Today in Episode 6 of the Oregon Coast Thrift Tour series, I am headed back home to Portland but I had make time for one last stop! My husband and I couldn’t conceive either so we adopted the most beautiful little baby girl who is now 36. She found her birth parents and I have met them, great people so happy ending for all. She has also given us two wonderful grandchildren. I can’t imagine my life differently! I truly hope you do become a mother because you would absolutely be the best set of parents any child could have. If however fate doesn’t have that in store you are still a blessed, lovely family. The world is a better place due to the joy and positivity you put into the universe. I’m so happy I found your space. I was adopted, and my parents were amazing. I get my love of antiques/vintage from my mom, who loved garage sales and antique stores. I miss her every day.

You should write the story on paper ( maybe fancy note cards) for each of your special pieces, and keep them with the piece. Include dates and details, so that the history won’t get forgotten.

Your story about realizing that Jesse "was the one" made me laugh. He was right there all that time. It's so great becoming friends first, that's how it was with my sweet husband, we knew each other for 5 years, married 32 when he sadly passed away from cancer 5 years ago. Miss him sooooo much 😪 but grateful for the time we had. Hugs & blessings from Texas 💖🦋

I'm an interior designer and rely on being able to visualize in my minds eye and I actually didn't know that some don't see images at all. That's fascinating and makes me appreciate very much what you do without those pictures.

My son is dyslexic, ADD, and Aphantasic. He's in his 20s now and he struggled academically. High School and college were extremely challenging. But he survived and is now working for a Child Psychiatrist doing neurological testing. He embraced his weird brain wiring & after seeing his own PET scan light up in all these odd places he now sees how his learning differences as beneficial in many ways. He is absolutely an out of the box thinker and very creative, and has an incredible memory. He's trained his brain to remember and works with teenagers at the office, teaching them how to focus, how to remember. He's amazing! Now, about finding a fella on Craigslist... I'm a single Mom and dammit, that's the one place I haven't looked. Excellent idea Thrifting Queen. You don't look old enough to be married 9 years... but CONGRATULATIONS on still loving your partner and I hope you both fill each other's lives with affection, attention and kindness. Can't wait to see the new kitchen. 🙂
This is so wonderful! He found his place! I’m all of the above mentioned too and was homeschooled. I really struggled. I learned to finally memorize what words looked like so I could “read” and to this day that is how I read. Audiobooks are my best friend. ❤️ Haha Craigslist worked for me! 😂🤷🏻♀️
I can't do this either. I went to a party where we were to visualize our past lives. Couldn't see a thing. Boy was I bummed! Didn't know that it had a name.

It blew my mind when you were explaining how the mind works. If I have a hard time sleeping, I will visually take myself to my Grandparents home and do a tour. I've also built a home and decorated every room in it with just my mind. Thank You!!!

I have that exact Bitossi vase. I bought it a year ago at my first yard sale after lockdown ended in my province. She wanted $5. I only had $3.60 in my purse as I was just coming home from the park with my dog. Best $3.60 I ever spent. I almost fainted when I saw how much it’s worth. I learned about Bitossi from you. Thank you! ☺️
Yes! Don’t loose hope. Change is good. The universe was just waiting for you to find your new home. After not being able to conceive for 10 years, I got pregnant VERY shortly after my husband and I made a big, major move to another state. So I always felt the universe was just waiting for us to be in the right place to raise our family. Be strong!

I was totally shocked to hear that people didn't see images in there mind. 😳 That is my total world, every time I hear a word I see the image in my "minds eye". It made me realize I understand so little of other experience. Very good point about design. Interesting!💖🧡♥️💚💛
The biggest problem with have no mind’s eye is when you lose someone and can’t relive your memories. My daughter passed 2 years ago and to ‘see’ her I need to look at photos or the portraits of her that I painted.

You have a gift of seeing the positive in everything. It took me a very long time to realize there could be a bright side to most things. My daughter and I are both on the spectrum and that has created different strengths for us. I am more image driven (in my minds eye) and map out situations and places before I experience them. My daughter is more in the moment and spontaneously creative. She is always creating a whirlwind in her room with new ideas. But when we travel together it’s perfect. I’ve spent months planning and learning and mapping out our adventures. She is along for the ride and having fun in the moment. And we both have a great time.

You’ve taught me so much! As a part-time reseller, I never had much interest in pottery, wood and sterling silver until I started watching and learning from you. I bought a 3-piece pottery set recently for $8 and sold it in a week for $250. You have opened my eyes! I appreciate your commitment and get anxious if I don’t see a new video by 11PM Eastern 🤣🤣. I’m in awe of the pottery, MCM furniture and hand-carved things you find. Those items are hard to come by in the goodwills in CT. Keep up the great work. I can’t wait for the next road trip!

Woah, I literally sat in confusion for a few minutes when you revealed your Aphantasic... then I had to go down the Google rabbit hole, LoL...not only am I ultra viusal but also have a touch of synethesia. You can tell because I will typically say "I see what you are saying.... I see how you feel." I am still perplexed on how you can be so creative and have this type of mental wiring? Maybe this is why your staging never looks like you copied a magazine picture!!! Which is part of why I am such a Fan. 💜

I pull all my memories out of my minds eye. When asked about something, I say let me see, and I do. We walked my sister's dog on a very long beach. We lost the house keys. I remembered, returning down the beach in reverse each step in high soft sand, and walked up to keys after about 15 minutes. Otherwise I'm quite ordinary.

I have so much to say about this video but most of it goes without says… you look amazing; I love the art so much. Why don’t I look at art when I’m thrifting?; Did I mention you look amazing!? But what I really want to say is, I never dreamt everyone didn’t picture everything in their head!!! I am blown away right now. My mind never ever stops. Like everything I hear in any conversation, I picture it. No wonder you are so at peace. I’m going to do a deep dive right now. I have no words!!!
I meditate most days and I do think it’s easier for me even though all guided meditation asks you to visualize. I just sit in quite and piece. Just have to stop my thoughts when they come 😆

I am new to your channel. Started watching about two months ago and can’t get enough. I am 63 and just now finding a love for all things vintage. I would love for you to do a video on just what to look for and mainly just a lot of what you know and how you know it.
I didn’t know people could see images or thoughts. After your video I looked up aphantasia and then started to cry. I don’t even understand why it’s making me so emotional. I guess I kind of wish I didn’t know what I have been missing my whole life. I wish I could visualize people faces that I miss so much. What a beautiful gift most of the population has.
It’s a little hard to wrap your head around at first (I cried at first too) but as they say knowledge is power and it’s made my life so much better/easier since learning about it because I understand people and the way we think so much better ❤️ Sending you a virtual hug!!
