    Nice report! I do like how you do mix bark and moss. I did mine mix of bark and husk chunks. But very cool. So glad you like your new bulbo. She is small so you'll have to baby it! It will flourish in your care! No doubt! Happy birthday dear! 🎂 🤗😊

      Hey buddy, thank you for the nice orchid for my birthday. Your one of my best friends and I always appreciate anything that I get from you. I like to try different growing methods with orchids sometimes and hopefully that Stanhopea will bloom for me one day. I think that bulbo is very cool and uncommon. I like it.

    Nice Paula! Bulbo is something I am not really familiar with but wanna lean more of. I am thinking to use coconut husk fiber like you are using the moss. But I don’t know where to get them. 3-4 species of Stans will be divided sometime soon!

      Hey Yoshi you don't know where to get coconut husk fiber? That is how I did mine. Lined basket with husk fiber and then the plant. Works great. I can show you were you can get huge box husk fiber. 😊

      Husk fiber would work good in that method Yoshi. In fact I want to try some husk fiber next time. Bulbo’s are cool orchids in my opinion. I still want to get one or two of those Stan divisions in the future.

    Great video. Stans are 1 of my faves. Have you had any issues with spikes aborting due to not having the room to expand in those types of baskets? I've got mine in wire baskets with large openings and so far so good. Just a thought. And the bulbo is a new one to me-those leaves are interesting! Love your greenhouse and its occupants.

      Hey Dea, I like growing Stanhopeas as well. I should have shown my other ones in the video. There was one time where I had a spike blast because it couldn’t push through. But other than that I’ve never had any issues. With that being said the wire baskets that your using is really the best way to go. You don’t have to worry about anything preventing the spikes from pushing out of the media and blooming. I will try and do some more videos on Stanhopeas in the future. I like that bulbo as well. The foliage is really cool. Hopefully I don’t kill it 😂.

    Hi.I have medium size stanhopea and use 30-10-10;is that the right blend? Also thinking about putting in a wood-slat hanger...is that open enough to allow flowers to come through?Glad you got another!!! I like vandas too. Oh!!! where do you like buying from??? Thanks. J.

      @justinsorchidsandmore4398  Рік тому +1

      Hey Joseph, that fertilizer blend is just fine. The higher nitrogen ‘30’ will actually help promote better leaf development. Wood slat baskets work just fine with Stanhopeas. I’ve seen a lot of people use them. With buying vanda’s I kinda just look around on eBay. I’ve gotten some from Orchids by the lake and Motes has some nice ones as well.

    Do you have a shade cloth or something on the roof of the greenhouse or does it get direct sun?

    • @justinsorchidsandmore4398
      @justinsorchidsandmore4398  Рік тому +1

      I use a 40% shade cloth on my greenhouse and it gets a little evening shade from a big tree in my neighbors yard.
