what usually annoys me about the so called "Ajax arrogance" is the fact that they always seem to completely ignore the fact that Ajax mostly has its success because the budget is double that of their "closest" rivals Feyenoord and PSV.
Double? haha they spended over 100mln euros last summer and got ass raped by Feyenoord in both matches. They buy players for 30 mlns while Feyenoord recordy buy is 7 mln. It's myth that ajax have the best academy in netherlands or one of the best in europe. They mostly scout and buy their best players (tadić, antony, haller, bergwijn, ziyech, neres, kudus, berghuis and so on and on - big money build their success not academy)and steal from other teams - example twins Timbers stolen from Feyenoord. Another thing is ajax mostly raise only good (good in dutch league ofcourse - not necessary in europe)defenders and defensive midfielders. They havent raised decent winger and striker since 1994 champions league era.
@@AFCAUltra budget you got from getting a free new stadium, going to the stock market and peaking in the last decade when the real big uefa money destroyed football and therefore being able to sell your players for high prices. UCL revenues are demolishing national leagues all across the continent
The difference in stats only came in when money starts influnce football. They think they better only cuz they have more than double the money than every club in the division. If you compare it to the money feyenoord have its a bigger achievment what feyenoord reached with that huge money difference
Ajax might have more titles but I would like to remember those folks in the capitol that when the top flight of Dutch football, De Eredivisie, turned 60 years in 2016 the league issued a special Championship Shield with golden letters. Guess who won that? Feyenoord 😌. And when the football association issued a golden Cup for the 2018 season guess who won that as well? You guessed it, Feyenoord😌 So I’ll say this, Ajax might win the most, but Feyenoord wins when it counts 😉 🏆
As someone from Amsterdam, I can confirm that people outside of Amsterdam think people from Amsterdam think they are superior way more than people from Amsterdam actually think they are superior. But like you mentioned, it's a very common feature for capitals vs. non-capitals all over the world. Also, Ajax-Feyenoord will always be the biggest rivalry in the Netherlands because like you explained it's also about the rivalry between the two biggest cities. However, I think most Ajax fans have a certain respect for Feyenoord and their ethics, while PSV doesn't even have that ;) Nowadays there's more and more Ajax fans that dislike PSV more than Feyenoord, but that's of course also driven by the results PSV obtained in the past 20-30 years. The cool thing about football is that if you f.e. work in a place with people from all over the Netherlands, football is always a good way to give (and receive) a friendly stab to your colleagues after the weekend, and it will always hurt, but you can still laugh about it.
Being from Rome I very well understand the dislike every city has for their state capital, but we have a very strange situation in Italy for historical reason. The Italian Ajax isn't either of the 2 clubs of the capital (Roma e Lazio) but Juventus, based in Torino. The Roma is the Italian Feyenoord, not so successful -even if probably the best Italian player of the modern era, Totti, made all his carrier here and was the captain for a very long time- but loved with a passion by fans. The Italians hate their capital so much I can't forget they cheered Liverpool against Roma in the European Cup of 1984. Madness.
The only reason ajax have good youth is cuz they have the most money to offer. Nearly al of the players startet their carrier at other pro clubs in the Netherlands. But its what destroys football "money" that allows them to have a good youth
But whats not said is that Ajax has much more money then Feyenoord. Ajax has standing a team worth 113 milion euros and feyenoord has standing a team wortg 34 milion euros. Thats also a big point why its not easy to hook up for Feyenoord. But if you can be compatetif with such a gap in worth then you can say Feyenoord is the better team now.
In my opinion : Yes, Ajax has the most prices and titles, there is no doubt, But what is really weird, and where in my opinion the real gap began is the transfer market. In some kinda way Ajax player always seems to have more value then players from Feyenoord or PSV, there are so many examples that show certain statistics that stats from different players from different teams in the Dutch League ( Eredivisie ) where better then the stats of a player from Ajax. Lets say, player X from Ajax has an overal score of a 7, and a player from Feyenoord who plays the same amount of games would score an 9, This is pure based on Eredivisie games, all european matchen arent included to keep it fair game. The Ajax player would probably have an transfer value of 30 Milion, while the Feyenoord player would only be rated maybe 10, or 15 milion. Example, Antony vs Luis ( Sini ) Sinisterra. Sini got transfered to Leeds United for i believe 23 milion, while Antony got sold for 100 milion. So somewhere along the way, maybe it started back in the 70's or 80's, Ajax did something totally different compared to Feyenoord. I dont know why and how, cause i dont know the exact details, the only thing i could guess is that it probably has something to do with pore management, or clubs just dont wanna pay more cause they think the Ajax players are much and much better compared all the other one's, i honestly have no clue. The only thing i see, and noticed over lets say 30 years of my live, im actually 35, in real live and also in games like Fifa, that the players of Ajax always had an higher transfer value even if they where rated the same. So to be fair, that where i thing the gap between the team really started.
Both stand for the two opposites sites of society, explaining the deeper rivalry. Feyenoord being hard work and muscle (that is why they won a lot less) and Ajax for flair, technique and brains. That is why both teams do not understand each other and especially Feyenoord feel entitled to win more, which they never will. You need brains and flair. But at the same time, Ajax could win a lot more with some of Feyenoord's muscle. The movie The Dark Chrystal is about that. They need each other. BTW, I am a fan of neither clubs, so kind of neutral.
To be fair, Cruyff going to Feyenoord was because of the internal chaos Ajax had at the time and the way he was treated by the cocky board of directors. It was the same situation like Man United is/was in where arrogance within the higher positions of the club resulted in mismanagement. When Johan told the board that they were fucking up and how they needed to work to correct their mistakes, they laughed at him and shoved him off. Well, its safe to say that he did not like that...
"Is it arrogance if you have the best stats throughout all those decades, or is it just realism", is EXACTLY what arrogance is. Bragging about your trophy cabinet every time something comes up makes you really narcissistic. Their slogan "We are Ajax, we are the best" is nothing more than a narcissistic piece of arrogance. "They find us really cocky and arrogant and we're just finding ourselves confident and try to look at ourselves, while Rotterdam is more focused on trying to surpass us and always coming in second with certain stuff, you know? That bothers them a lot I think", Isn't this basically the arrogance we talk about? This has nothing to do with confidence, this has to do with being a self-centered nutcase again. EyeJax really embodies that Ajax-spirit. I think 80% of people watching this video now for sure chooses Feyenoord over Ajax if they have to decide, as the arrogance and narcissism splashes through the screens.
The biggest difference that separates Feyenoord and Ajax: when Ajax loses a game it's because Ajax played badly. When Feyenoord loses a game, it's because our opponent was simply better. Ajax symbolizes arrogance and misplaced confidence, it's deeply rooted in their beliefs and world view. Amsterdam is Holland and that's where it stops. That's mainly why every club and almost every supporter in the Netherlands loathes Ajax and its supporters. Feyenoord is the working class hero and Ajax is the flamboyant and spoiled artist.
What I also think is funny is that apparently Feyenoorders think of Ajax as this big cocky club or something but Ajax actually thinks of themselves as underdogs, working so hard to play a beautiful game on the European fields despite having a fraction of the budget many of the others have, building on the tradition of our great youth academy.
What he love is "ajax technical football from youth" - but they havent raised a single decent winger or striker for decades. All their best players like Tadić are bought not raised. They raise just defenders and defensive midfields like Mathijs de Ligt, klaassen or frenkie de jong which is even not their product but product of Willem ii Tilburg. Their players are overrated - the power of ajax is system of play not talent. Feyenoord youths are now beating ajax teams every year. Ajax only advantage over Feyenoord is having reserve team in 2nd division where players can gain experience faster - Feyenoord dont have that unfortunately. All that bullshit that Feyenoord play "working football" instead of technical its just a myth 80s and 90s era where club was very poor and only bought average players from league - Feyenoord now is playing as technical football as ajax if not more technical. If you see the first goal in arena last sunday - it was very modern football typical tiki taka passes from first touch and goal - ajax couldn't cope with that. Feyenoord with Arne Slot is absolutely playing technical modern football. Without a doubt. These guys are just repeating myths they believe are true but facts speak otherwise. If ajax have such excelent academy - why they spended over 100mln euros in summer? huh? why? be cause academy doesnt produce good ofensive players - thats why! Thats why you need to buy Bergwijn Berghuis Tadić Kudus - all their best players are bought not raised! Not a single decent striker and winger was raised in their academy for decades.
I'm a Ajax fan from Rotterdam and tbh it's the truth that they hate each other, I get hatred here in Rotterdam about being a Ajax fan and in Amsterdam because I'm from Rotterdam.

I live in NL (Hilversum) and have been to both Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The best place out of the two, by a very long way, is Rotterdam. Amsterdam people are ignorant, arrogant and defensive. Rotterdam's folks will engage in a conversation, aren't poncey and generally good company whilst the beers go down. Newcastle-upon-Tyne is still better tho'. Howay the lads!
Lastig voor je met zoveel ex Amsterdammers als buren? 😂
As soon as a fan of a club say ‘club A is more obsessed with club B than club B is concerned with club A’ you can guess the obsession is pretty much equal.
No you can't.. because he's right. Most of us don't care about Feyenoord. While they hate our guts
@@sanderlucioperca Lol.. All of my friends are Feyenoord.
So I witness first hand how they think about us.
It's always the same.. They hate our guts, and we just don't mind. It's actually hilarious.
Why are you trying to argue with me on a culture, that you know nothing about?

Feyenoord had a really bad 20 years, however now they seem to have turned it around and the next couple of years there is going to be a close title battle
They became champion 4/5 years ago and last year final conference league, but I agree the footballvision at Feyenoord is now much better.
@@Redranger877 their football has been very good the recent 2 years, money wise they are making steps. I believe the next 4/5 years feyenoord will win multiple league titles
@@anticlassy1303 Would be amazing for the Dutch football if Feyenoord and Ajax can be every year in the champions league again. What do you think about Arne Slot?

He has been better at Benfica then ever before in his career .-. Benfica and Sporting would be interesting too

Feyenoord is life and Ajax is just support ! Big difference between those clubs!
This match is war it goes beyond football
You don't give this guy enough credit, you all backed down leaving him behind in that "battle of beverwijk" putting a black page on all supporters. We don't need this type of "supporting" for the club it only costing the club. The battle should be on the pitch, during the game and not in the stands or outside.
Yeeessss!!! RotR is such a great series! Great work, Adrian! Also…the Toronto jab…epic 😂

Great timing on the video Adrian, greetings from Rotterdam
Always love waking up to a Rabona vid. Much love always!
Love the video. Hope Feyenoord can win sunday
It’s a big game but Feyenoord has 3 points more then Ajax. Also Ajax has a very difficult schedule the next 8 games after this game. I think Feyenoord will be champion because they have the better team and play better football. It will be a miracle because Feyenoord is working with a smaller budget as well.
Don’t think it’s much of a miracle. Ajax had/has to deal with managerial switches this season. I think the way Ajax spent their money was not what Ajax should do. I think the club should give plenty of room to the youngsters as we’ve always done. But buying so many players has made us lose good youth products. Danilo lacked game time so he transferred to Feyenoord. Doekhi was an academy player once and now he helped knock us out of Europe. Ajax not respecting their traditional ways seems to backfire.
@@jarmoliebrand2005 What did they get with Antony's money? They got a defender who can't play football for 23 million euros and 12 million for Sanchez, a very bad right wing defender from Mexico. Bergwijn 26 million and Brobbey 20 million & griellish 6 have not yet achieved much.
Another top notch video Adrian, keep up the good work!
Adrian. Please do the Porto v Benfica derby, or Sporting v Benfica. I need this.
He used to have Benfica v Sporting but it got taken down. I actually miss it.

what usually annoys me about the so called "Ajax arrogance" is the fact that they always seem to completely ignore the fact that Ajax mostly has its success because the budget is double that of their "closest" rivals Feyenoord and PSV.
It's true. Ajax just is the bigger club. We don't really care about Feyenoord that much.
Double? haha they spended over 100mln euros last summer and got ass raped by Feyenoord in both matches.
And how did it get to the point in which our budget doubled? Maybe because we actually brought results.
Budget we build on our own blood sweat and tears 😎
@@AFCAUltra budget you got from getting a free new stadium, going to the stock market and peaking in the last decade when the real big uefa money destroyed football and therefore being able to sell your players for high prices. UCL revenues are demolishing national leagues all across the continent
The difference in stats only came in when money starts influnce football. They think they better only cuz they have more than double the money than every club in the division. If you compare it to the money feyenoord have its a bigger achievment what feyenoord reached with that huge money difference
Rinus with an eee sound, and it is NOT Croif no oy sound! clearly an ui sound very very different!
What a video
Ajax might have more titles but I would like to remember those folks in the capitol that when the top flight of Dutch football, De Eredivisie, turned 60 years in 2016 the league issued a special Championship Shield with golden letters. Guess who won that? Feyenoord 😌. And when the football association issued a golden Cup for the 2018 season guess who won that as well? You guessed it, Feyenoord😌
So I’ll say this, Ajax might win the most, but Feyenoord wins when it counts 😉 🏆
Every price counts, ajax has more Feyenoord was in everything the first.
Each club is as good as their last season imo.
Lmao no one cares about that except for Feyenoord fans
2-3
Psv said hi
Jopie positivo in het Engels 👍. Als het in het Nederlands moeilijk gaat dan maar Engels spreken.
awesome intro
Hey Rabona, i have an idea on a video for roots of the rivalry is there any way i can send it over to you?
Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV have one of the best youth academies in the world
do the vienna derby next
it is not bevverwijk, it is Beverwijk with an ay sound as in say.
Waar komen Joden toch vandaan
Feyenoord is and will always be the best club of the world with the best fans
I'm a Ajax fan from Rotterdam and tbh it's the truth that they hate each other, I get hatred here in Rotterdam about being a Ajax fan and in Amsterdam because I'm from Rotterdam.
