      Oh yes I bought my 15" Silver Bullet last February and retired my old Sizzix eClips to my daughter in law. I was shocked at the speed, quality and versatility of the SB and the new SCAL was doing my head in. My favourite video of yours I saved (I've saved many) is the one describing how to do the offset text so it all holds together better using Magnolia text. My favourite font too. I'm a happy gal having found your UA-cam channel.

    Hi Sandra - I finally got around to trying out the glycerine technique and it works a treat! Love how subtle the colours can get with just a spot of glycerine :)
    I was wondering if you've seen the Tim Hotlz's distress oxide release? It's gorgeous but £72 for the set!! I tried creating the same effects with Paper Artsy's Infusions and Brusho powders but I can't figure out how to make a water colour permanent once it's dried. That's the Distress Oxide's big selling point - that you can create layers with it - do you think you could put your thinking cap on and figure out an alternative? :)

    • @createinspain
      @createinspain  7 років тому

      Hi there! So glad you tried it out and found out how good this is! Yes, I did see the video from the craft show. I'm not sure that the watercolour becomes permanent - sprinkled with water it was still able to be pulled up. I'll have to look again, I wasn't sure I fancied the chalky effect though. However, from what I remember it was a blend of water based ink and pigment inks and had to be dried in between coats. I'll give it some thought!:)

    • @Aparajitaa
      @Aparajitaa 7 років тому

      Cheers! Looking forward to a video :)
      Appu xx

    • @createinspain
      @createinspain  7 років тому

      Appu - I have spent the last hour playing around and I think the solution is very simple. The following will probably do as much as you need it to!
      Get your hands on some (cheap) small tubes of both watercolour and acrylics. Here a set of both will probably be less than €5.
      Use a glass coaster like I did in the video above. Put equal size small blobs of both paint on the tile and use a blender to mix.
      The logic behind this is that acrylics don't dissolve in water after they are dried but watercolours will. So depending on what quality you are looking for, you can tweak the recipe. The acrylics will also work on dark card in a way that watercolour will not. You should not need to add glycerine to this mix as the water colour will probably contain it already..or at least something similar, to keep it fluid in the tube. You can use the blender to apply the mix to stamps if you need to.
      If water is smashed on to it the watercolour will lift out, if sprayed with water, the colours can run and you do get a chalky effect.

    • @Aparajitaa
      @Aparajitaa 7 років тому

      Sandra - you're a genius! Can't wait to give this a go! As it happens, I have both acrylics and water colours in tubes :)
      I don't have any blenders but am guessing if I cut a piece of foam, stick it into a bottle cap and turn it into a dauber, that would do just as well?
      Appu xx

    • @createinspain
      @createinspain  7 років тому

      Lol, not sure about the genius bit but I am determined....:) Some foams work better than others but basically anything you have used for blending before will work with this. Only add a drop of glycerine if the paint won't glide nicely on your paper.

    Sorry but i don't see what watercolors you use. Gouache, aquarelle or the ones used by kids (the ones that coat)?

    • @createinspain
      @createinspain  4 роки тому

      It is just a standard watercolour paint, not Gouache, I think the pan may have been Daler Rowney but you can use tube watercolour, unbranded....Kids paint is poster paint but it wasn't that, it would probably be too powdery.

    • @Skulltronics
      @Skulltronics 4 роки тому

      @@createinspain Hi :-)
      I did google poster paint and it seems like it is ready to use color in glasses.
      What every kid has here in Germany when starting school is this:
      www.pelikan.com/pulse/Pulsar/en_US_INTL.Store.displayStore.219504./the-k-12-opaque-paintboxes-by-pelikan
      It is called Deckfarbe. This is what people her mean most of the time when they say watercolor.
      But i did not find a translation for it. The difference to aquarelle is that it covers the paper or other colors if you paint it on top.
      Aquarelle is more like glass - you can see the paper through.

    • @createinspain
