That cold start would've been valves open? I know this design is unique in that valves closed is almost straight piped - was it a lot louder than stock valves closed? I know you don't have the car anymore!

They both good actually! You cant go wrong either way. If you want the ability to have it sound ballistic then headers and stock muffler. If you want to keep reasonable volume the inconel pipe is really really nice. The pitch on the inconel pipe is much nicer. The headers are louder (like alot louder) and make more power starting lower in the rev range
