This is great information for people just starting out with PCs. These old office machines can be found really cheap, and when you fix it up, add a GPU, all that, they can totally be fine for daily use and even some gaming.

Yeah... I had to use the "tin snips" mod to squeeze a full length graphics card into a Dell XPS 8500 before. The metal drive bays blocked where the PCI-E power cables are attached.
im paired with a ryzen 5 5500 and a rx 580 8gb card with 16gb ddr4 3200. its a decent budget build with a 3d time spy score of 4154. its an excellent build since you have a clean upgrade path to work with since its on am4 platform. Yes because not all ssf office PCs allow for a 2 slot GPU to be fitted. Some of them if you buy them as a cheap gaming PC, you will find out that you just wasted your money.
Good salvage coverage. 339 for a old cheap pc and a gpu is a bit okayish but with 339$ you can build it your own without a old dell and a 3050.. but all is better then no gaming :D
You may be CPU bottlenecking yourself using Ultra Performance DLSS, making the CPU work harder to push out frames instead of putting more work on the GPU at a native/close to native resolution. I remember my 8700k would bottleneck my 3060 ti at certain DLSS settings. Once i got a 13600k that wasn't a thing anymore.
Yea I wouldn't go with the 3050 LP for this, the CPU was bottlenecking it beyond comprehension. Even then, I'd play at higher resolutions to make it more GPU bound.
I’m on a laptop in my car on an inverter that’s my life now due to the rapid requirement for so much for old nasty crap that makes you sick so still kinda of getting over it ti 😊
Ok so i have a dell optiplex 7050 sff with an i5-7600 which is similar to this CPU, and I've been looking for anything to represent my build and this just proved it to be somewhat viable. I am replacing the 180w psu with a 220w one and a 24 pin to 6 pin adapter, along with adding another 8 gigs of ram to make it 16, and adding some fans and storage. But I just wanted to say thanks for helping my research. Let me know any ideas you guys have for this build (it wont be my main PC this is just a fun side project)
The i5 6500 and 7500 are popular on Amazon in entry level used PCs. The sff models just typically dip to the lowest price range but anything that is older than 6th Gen would be a dumpster find because they have so little value. How about building something that has more appeal in the under 200$ range and add ram, cooler, and a $169 dollar or less graphics card upgrade.
Been doing metalwork for over 40 years....those " Yellow " are straight cutting snips...the " Red " and " Green " snips are also needed to cut easier and less...uhh..." Medieval " !! they allow you to cut properly when you want a nicer part....still takes talent though !! 🤣 and like others said...remove everything from case and you won't short out your computer... you can file and fix your messy and dangerous sharp jagged work..😂 been building computers since early 90's too...( 1990's ).. takes no real time to pull everything out of a sff case and you can safely work and not risk a " dumb " mistake.... real dumb mistake with those cuts !! 🤣 sorry...i see alot of hack work online... and seen it when i worked too.... 🇨🇦🤓🤟
They have a place in the market till maybe Oct 15, 2025. Unless MS decides to just let people run Windows 10 and not cancel the security updates for it.

at the part where you said to use a dremmel or any similar tool of the sorts, it'd be better not to, becuase you might get shards or shrapnel thrown into certain places you wouldnt know about. The scissor tool is more than enough.
I'm very surprised you don't create pc builds with open PC cases. It's dirt cheap and they look cool. Won't break the bank and yet you guys never make videos on them. At least from what I see.
I have a Lenovo M920s, uses i7 8700, the case is the same, same lenght. Now I use my PC without cover, a full GTX 1660 super with a second PSU to can use pci express aux cable from psu... This is terrible to see... I was thinking about buy the original case of M920T, mas costs 140 euros. Other way is try to use a normal case, but I would to adapter so many stufs.... Other way is to buy a new RTX 4060 low profile.... arround 350 euros, so expensive.
Too bad I can't do this with my M920 SFF. I have a 3.5" 6TB HD installed so that space is being used. I'm stuck with using its current GT 710 or a 1030 DDR5.

I will look into the build recommendations that you gave me. 👍
been waiting for this
6 gb 3050.. well you can do frame gen ( with a simple mod file that you drop in each game)and ray tracing not bad..
i love like this transformations
Mad lip sniffers,all on point
Not gonna lie I got my mother in law in a choke hold when he was applying the thermal paste .. R.I.P to her and the build
Is that some kind of weird euphemism?
Grey area? ...
That looks like an overheating nightmare with that small unit.
Mine runs relatively cool honestly. GPU gets up to 75 degrees maximum.
339 for a old cheap pc and a gpu is a bit okayish but with 339$ you can build it your own without a old dell and a 3050..
but all is better then no gaming :D
Please make a retro gaming pc
You may be CPU bottlenecking yourself using Ultra Performance DLSS, making the CPU work harder to push out frames instead of putting more work on the GPU at a native/close to native resolution. I remember my 8700k would bottleneck my 3060 ti at certain DLSS settings. Once i got a 13600k that wasn't a thing anymore.
Yea I wouldn't go with the 3050 LP for this, the CPU was bottlenecking it beyond comprehension. Even then, I'd play at higher resolutions to make it more GPU bound.
bro i actually love ur vids
Bruh
@@TonicofSonicWhich came first, bro or bruh? 😂
I’m on a laptop in my car on an inverter that’s my life now due to the rapid requirement for so much for old nasty crap that makes you sick so still kinda of getting over it ti 😊
Love yall vids
you should use 800 g2 hp. no modification even needed
Fortnite on Performance mode perform better raytracing make lag big
Only one slice of toast today?
Thanks! Please at least put tape on that cut metal. Maybe even glue some rubber hose over it.
Get that man his pc
does changing windows system fix blue screen
The i5 6500 and 7500 are popular on Amazon in entry level used PCs. The sff models just typically dip to the lowest price range but anything that is older than 6th Gen would be a dumpster find because they have so little value.
How about building something that has more appeal in the under 200$ range and add ram, cooler, and a $169 dollar or less graphics card upgrade.
I enjoyed this. You guys should do separate videos.
I have a similar PC, what holds it back in Finals is that Finals is not optimized
When he said "Ok we steadied out around 100 fp- oh wait nevermind still loading in". Bruh I can't stand when that's happening the first 5 minutes.
Unless MS decides to just let people run Windows 10 and not cancel the security updates for it.
that's funny I was looking at the exact same pc
I'm thinking a DIY systen with a $400 budget makes more sense.
For me I didn't want spend the money! I have and I7 6700sff with 1650 and Ill have to say its not that bad lol I get 60 + Mw3 and about the same for the rest of the games. PC Gaming on a budget but through the University of UA-cam, Im about to build My own here soon!
I got a alienware on ebay for sale just needs storage, a am4 chip and a gpu it's only 200 bucks. It's a aurora r10 ryzen ed
we got pc's like this in the office and they got all sorts of software issues and are slow as f if you take them out its weelhouse, going to work full steam 2 months and die on you
yes bcs people let them sit under desk 24/7 with little to no airflow and they never change the termal paste
"weelhouse"
Dying.
Idk why fortnite was performing not so well I recently built a budget flip with an i7-6700k and an GTX 1070 with around the same settings and it was getting 90+ fps while dropping
Throw in an Arc A580 in one of these desktops.
0:05 Bro be lookin like e tryin hard not to laugh lmaoooo bro got a corn statche
thank you so much bro
at the part where you said to use a dremmel or any similar tool of the sorts, it'd be better not to, becuase you might get shards or shrapnel thrown into certain places you wouldnt know about. The scissor tool is more than enough.
RTX 4060 8 pin connector and some wire splices
So you can't put back the hard drive bracket? I got a SSD
There are two slots for ssd enough
I'm very surprised you don't create pc builds with open PC cases. It's dirt cheap and they look cool. Won't break the bank and yet you guys never make videos on them. At least from what I see.
I have a Kediers C570 open air case. Some people don't like the way it looks but I like it.
@@BREEZYM6015 It actually isn't bad. Plus in a cool room the temps are amazing. At lowest prices too right now, I won't complain. They should.
If that psu fan is exhaust then, it will be pretty concerning.
Oh no you did the thermal paste wrong! (kidding good job)🎉
Can you try getting rebar working on a newer dell optiplex for anyone who wants to get an arc a380 lp for their optiplex
definitely cpu bound espicially trying to use DLSS
Too bad I can't do this with my M920 SFF. I have a 3.5" 6TB HD installed so that space is being used. I'm stuck with using its current GT 710 or a 1030 DDR5.
RX 550 is a much better option for you
@@rocklobster1764 Thanks, but that one is too long and won't fit. Earlier, I bought an RX 640 which basically has the same form factor and it too is too long.
just get a new case and put eveyrthing there
Why do I feel like cards sold as “low profile” should have the low profile plate installed out of the box?
I checked these will only take 7gen 1151 cpu's 🙁 too bad I have a i7-8700 from a old system which would be a good performance boost.
😂😂 funny is i do the same..i use a grinder to fit my gpu gt730 low profile. we're exactly same system unit. but mine pentium 6th 4400 16gb ram. bought it 20$ wihout gpu and ram.
"That word (viscous), I don't think it means what you think it means."
Can get i7 6700 tower ones with full size power supply for sub $100 now days and put better GPU in it.
the one on this video was slowing down cuz of the heat, he was pegged at 87degrees, will see better performance with a decent case and cooler
not bad of a pc but the choice of a 3050 is hurting but atleast its low profile.................
