I was a Rainbow salesman in 1975. It was a hard sell because of the price, but every unit I sold is still in use today! Most are in the second and 3rd generation within those families, but still working just fine. Almost Tp years of service speaks volumes for the quality. The occasional hose retainer clip might bend, or a tube might get bent, but only under extreme rough use! Good luck with your new unit. It should last the rest of your life and still be just as powerful.

Thanks for this review. I’m in Australia and I have my mum’s 30 year old rainbow. I’ve been wanting to upgrade but hesitant because of the price. I’m with you in saying that your house is never as clean as when it’s done with a rainbow. There is nothing I’ve used that compares. I’ve been looking at the Sirena because it’s so much cheaper but don’t want to regret it later. Does the new rainbow come with everything eg, floor washer and rain mate? Or are these optional extras?
candid260 I absolutely understand! The new one doesn’t come with the floor washer unfortunately! You can get a rain mate for free when you have had a demo. I would recommend seeing about buying a lightly used one from someone nearby? You can always have the warranty transferred over to you too!
Zaka Pentax although the old ones work fine, the new ones have new gadgets like air filtering, new attachments, etc. It’s like a phone, an older model can still call and text but the newer models have the better specs that make use easier and more convenient

I have had a Rainbow for 20 years now. I’ve lost a lot of pieces but I still love it. It has kept my home soooo clean through kids, dogs, every tragedy of life. I can tell the difference in the air of homes that don’t use a Rainbow... Now I want the new vacuum, which brought me to your video. The Old guy still works good but now I’m going to have a vacuum for each floor. Good investment!! And great video thank you!

Still have my Kirby from the mid-'90s & it cost a good bit back then. It's still wking great & I've never had any issues either. I know it doesn't "clean" as well as yours, so I'm pretty interested bc of my asthma/allergies. Is the unit very heavy or loud? Thxs for your honest opinion & time!
Super Annie Oakley Thats so great, I’ve heard good things about kirbys! I wouldn’t say it’s tooooo heavy but it does have some weight. The thing about the rainbow is that you really pull it around the house, if you have stairs it might be an annoyance to carry it upstairs but it’s not unmanageably heavy. I would say it’s also not too loud unless when it’s filtering the air that you put it on high. The rainbow has good suction but they really emphasize air flow too. Without good airflow your vacuum can’t pick up as much. If you have allergies, I really recommend reaching out to a rep and seeing one in person. Based on what you mentioned, I think it could be a great investment. They’ll also be able to compare and contrast with your kirby you have now for a better understanding :) Hope this helps!

I had an accident a couple of yrs earlier that left me disabled & since the Kirby was self-propelled & I didn't need to pull it around the house it definitely helped w my back issues. I can't afford to pay that much money for something's that's gonna cause more pain. I'd hate to have someone come out for that long & not end up buying it. Unfortunately, since I'm divorced(31yrs) now too, I don't have anyone to help w the stairs & so on. I'm moving next yr so I hope to get a house w/o stairs. Thxs again for the reply & your time. I definitely think once you’re in a one story house, it’s worth having someone come over (even if you’re not sure you’ll buy one) just to experience it and see if it’s worth pursuing. It’s definitely handy that you pull it around the house but I understand you have unique circumstances! The absolute best of luck to you!
I grew up with a D4 series (made from the mid 80s to the mid 90s in various forms) and that one still runs as my Mom still has it. I then bought a used D4 from a friend's grandma and used it until I found the machine that's the model before yours and shares a number of similarities like the self docking wands, and uses the same carpet shampooer and hard floor washer. I recently bought the three wet cleaning tools, the aforementioned shampooer and hard floor washers (Aquamate and RainJet) as well as the mini shampooer (MiniJet) which there is a version for your SRX as well. There is a mini power nozzle, the RainbowMate, if you have carpeted stairs or fabric upholstered furniture that you vacuum. I'm not timid about the price, they're suggested to retail for $3300. You can probably pick one up directly from the dealer for a decent discount. Skipping the demo will probably net you savings.

I want this model. Maybe after I graduate and have been working for a bit I’ll buy one. There is a recall on this model though. You may want to call your dealer and verify whether it’s one of the affected units.

My husband and I recently got one too. My friend needed people for demos so we decided to help her out and had no intention of purchasing one. We have a golden doodle and she doesn’t shed much, and I keep the house clean. When we were shown the dirt and hair that came from the floors and carpet we were disgusted. The water looked like swamp water 😂. We decided to purchase one and so thankful we did. The price and the heaviness of the machine is the downside. We got a free rainmate too. I no longer snore and my husband sleeps better too. It’s amazing!

And did you look into the bag of your old vaacum ? You just been fooled by the fact you see the dirt traped in the water, your usual vaacum does the same, it's just not visible ...
Zaka Pentax good observation, but actually during a demo, you see the output that your old vacuum has dirt wise vs the rainbow. you literally do an entire breakdown comparison. our old vacuum was decent (I thought) but actually was really just making lots of dust fly around. You’ll be able to see the difference for yourself if you have a rep come over, It’s very interesting because I thought the same. Also you can vacuum an area with your old vacuum (as much as you want till you think it’s clean) and then go over it with the rainbow (it shouldn’t pick anything up right?) and you’ll be SHOCKED how much it picks up after you’ve already vacuumed
I’m glad you gave a positive review on door to door sales. The brand has a bad reputation for the sales in the home. It’s unfair because that doesn’t encompass all distributors and the product itself is a good product. Kirby’s will clean carpet better BUT most people don’t have a whole lot of carpet anymore and they can’t be used for wet spills, they can’t sanitize the air, they can’t be used as an air purifier like this can, but they do filter decently well, again not like this does. This filters marginally better but it also sanitizes at the same time.

Zaka Pentax you put in a sanitizing solution to the water and as it filters the air, it sanitizers with the solution. you can smell it throughout the house as it works
My mom has a rainbow one she bought in the late 90s it still works and its a powerhouse. i love seeing all the crap it catches in the water. house feels fresher and cleaner after it. not gonna lie its a workout dragging it around the house and setting it up..but its worth it. no other vacuum comes close to this and I've tried others through out the years.
My mum still has her 1984 model and will not use anything else. I had the E2 since 2002 and still going strong. Will upgrade to the SRX soon. Thankyou for the video
Try using powernozzle on your mattress(will remove a lot dust, skin and etc), just make sure you mattress doesn’t have any threads/loose threads cause it will tear them. Also if you like using attachments I recommend getting a second “older model” hose. It is lighter and doesn’t have the powernozzle cord. You need to be gentle with cord and I’m too lazy for that lol
We just got the new Rainbow SRX after a demo. I work with a girl who bought one and they did a demo for us. We ended up buying the Rainbow SRX! I have a newer Filter Queen that picks up amazingly (or so I thought... comparing to any other vacuum) and this well surpassed how much that picked up. I vacuumed thoroughly with the filter Queen before the demo and the Rainbow picked up so much still! Would highly recommend in investing in it, especially considering it should last 55-60 years they say!
We got one last night. I haven't had time to use it but I will after work. Had no idea our rug was so dirty until we tried it out holy crap it cleans freaking perfectly. High price but holy hell it's awesome
They new model has some nice component that were upgraded and it’s sleek looking. But the SRX series is actually a good bit less powerful in both airflow and suction than it’s previous model the E2 Black series.
@@KindlyChristina well my comment made it sound like an inferior machines. While it is less powerful it’s not by much. And truthfully it’s going to clean way better than most anything the typical consumer will find at wal-mart or target or other similar stores. Take care of it and it will serve you well for many many years to come.

I bought a used Sirena, then a couple of months later got an incredible deal ($50, yes, fifty) on an E2 Black, which is the model before the SRX. The amount of dog fur that the Rainbow pulls out of the carpet is amazing/disgusting. I've had my basin filled with fur just like you showed on several occasions and it's hard to believe there was that much stuck in the carpet.
@@KindlyChristina I'd never heard of them until my friend Angie mentioned something about them on FB. When saw the new prices I about sh*t. I got the Sirena for under $200, which I thought was a steal, but the Rainbow topped that. It had the PN-12 power nozzle too, but none of the small attachments, which I found cheap on eBay.
@@KindlyChristina Think again. Hyla is the ONLY vacuum cleaner without any filters. 100% 💧. It uses another technology than the Rainbow. The air comes in under the water. With the Rainbow it comes in above water and not all dust particles are being caught, therefore the filter in the back of your Rainbow, a HEPA filter.
yeah cleaner and more fluffed up for sure. ours gets flat and a thin layer of hair because of our aussies, this seriously revives it. thanks for your comment!

they’re about $3000, I’m in a rainbow group on facebook and really there’s no ways that I’ve seen that are great for talking them down, as far as I know there’s absolutely no wiggle room. Even when we decided not to buy one after the demo there was no option. When we came back saying we wanted one, they were even hesitant to give us the demo price. Maybe you could google or ask a page like I’m on but as far as I’ve seen there are little to no options :(
Let me know if you already bought it, I just got mine 3 weeks ago used it a few times love it but, my financial situation just changed and get keep it will sell it for a good deal with all the accessories I bought with it🤷🏻♀️
The newest Rainbow is actually less powerful than previous models. Significantly less airflow. Also I think the powerhead is a poor design with the belt channel being in the center of the nozzle. I do believe the motor is smaller in these than the last Rainbow model.
I had a rep come over today, the price is $3800 and that doesn’t include the shampoo attachment or the mini attachment for cars. I didn’t buy it and then did some research and found this unit totally sucks with a terrible warranty! The worst thing about the rep coming over is they pitched the demo as an air purifier, not a vacuum… they said it would be a 60-90 minute demo for an air purifier, it turned out to be a 15 minute air cleaner demo and 4 HOURS OF VACUUM DEMO!!!! YES, 4 HOURS!!!! The guy wouldn’t leave!!! I finally got pissed and he called his boss on speaker phone to try and pitch the sale for another 20 minutes, and finally I asked him to leave. It was an absolutely horrible experience, almost had to get the shotgun out of the safe to get him out of the house. $3800 for a vacuum? No thanks
Best product on the market? Your opinion… Maybe the best product in the $3500-$4000 range. I’ll stay with my much easier to use and just as effective Dyson that cost $500 from Costco… and it has a far better warranty. Check the reviews on other UA-cam videos and the online reviews from real customers, not reps in disguise… not that great of a product

if you think this cleans well then you have not used a majestic. the majestic will clean way better then that rainbow and because it doesn't use water it has way more suction and filters the same as a rainbow it doesn't use bags either it uses cone shaped cellupure filters and the motors on the filter queen majestic last longer because it's not fighting against the water sure rainbows are good vacuum cleaners but they just have more things that where out on them where the filter queen will not where out and it's cheaper and filters the same and you don't have to dump it out after every use I change my filter once a year sometimes more if I have to but yeah with that being said the filter queen will clean and filter the air just as good if not better
I think they’re easy to sell once you’re able to get in someone’s house and show them what it’s about! for face value it looks like you don’t need it but once you’re there you realize you need it for sure!!
The only time we didn’t have a rainbow is when we lived in the USSR. Those were hard times. Your health should only improve. I rock a home air purifier too though. Something like an Conway airmega or a rabbit air minus2. The have activated charcoal that pull out toxic gases in the air. People don’t know but a lot of things off-gas. Plastics etc

They new model has some nice component that were upgraded and it’s sleek looking. But the SRX series is actually a good bit less powerful in both airflow and suction than it’s previous model the E2 Black series.

@@KindlyChristina well my comment made it sound like an inferior machines. While it is less powerful it’s not by much. And truthfully it’s going to clean way better than most anything the typical consumer will find at wal-mart or target or other similar stores. Take care of it and it will serve you well for many many years to come.

I bought a used Sirena, then a couple of months later got an incredible deal ($50, yes, fifty) on an E2 Black, which is the model before the SRX. The amount of dog fur that the Rainbow pulls out of the carpet is amazing/disgusting. I've had my basin filled with fur just like you showed on several occasions and it's hard to believe there was that much stuck in the carpet.

@@KindlyChristina I'd never heard of them until my friend Angie mentioned something about them on FB. When saw the new prices I about sh*t. I got the Sirena for under $200, which I thought was a steal, but the Rainbow topped that. It had the PN-12 power nozzle too, but none of the small attachments, which I found cheap on eBay.
@@KindlyChristina Think again. Hyla is the ONLY vacuum cleaner without any filters. 100% 💧. It uses another technology than the Rainbow. The air comes in under the water. With the Rainbow it comes in above water and not all dust particles are being caught, therefore the filter in the back of your Rainbow, a HEPA filter.

they’re about $3000, I’m in a rainbow group on facebook and really there’s no ways that I’ve seen that are great for talking them down, as far as I know there’s absolutely no wiggle room. Even when we decided not to buy one after the demo there was no option. When we came back saying we wanted one, they were even hesitant to give us the demo price. Maybe you could google or ask a page like I’m on but as far as I’ve seen there are little to no options :(

The newest Rainbow is actually less powerful than previous models. Significantly less airflow. Also I think the powerhead is a poor design with the belt channel being in the center of the nozzle. I do believe the motor is smaller in these than the last Rainbow model.

I had a rep come over today, the price is $3800 and that doesn’t include the shampoo attachment or the mini attachment for cars. I didn’t buy it and then did some research and found this unit totally sucks with a terrible warranty! The worst thing about the rep coming over is they pitched the demo as an air purifier, not a vacuum… they said it would be a 60-90 minute demo for an air purifier, it turned out to be a 15 minute air cleaner demo and 4 HOURS OF VACUUM DEMO!!!! YES, 4 HOURS!!!! The guy wouldn’t leave!!! I finally got pissed and he called his boss on speaker phone to try and pitch the sale for another 20 minutes, and finally I asked him to leave. It was an absolutely horrible experience, almost had to get the shotgun out of the safe to get him out of the house. $3800 for a vacuum? No thanks

Best product on the market? Your opinion… Maybe the best product in the $3500-$4000 range. I’ll stay with my much easier to use and just as effective Dyson that cost $500 from Costco… and it has a far better warranty. Check the reviews on other UA-cam videos and the online reviews from real customers, not reps in disguise… not that great of a product

if you think this cleans well then you have not used a majestic. the majestic will clean way better then that rainbow and because it doesn't use water it has way more suction and filters the same as a rainbow it doesn't use bags either it uses cone shaped cellupure filters and the motors on the filter queen majestic last longer because it's not fighting against the water sure rainbows are good vacuum cleaners but they just have more things that where out on them where the filter queen will not where out and it's cheaper and filters the same and you don't have to dump it out after every use I change my filter once a year sometimes more if I have to but yeah with that being said the filter queen will clean and filter the air just as good if not better

I think they’re easy to sell once you’re able to get in someone’s house and show them what it’s about! for face value it looks like you don’t need it but once you’re there you realize you need it for sure!!

The only time we didn’t have a rainbow is when we lived in the USSR. Those were hard times. Your health should only improve. I rock a home air purifier too though. Something like an Conway airmega or a rabbit air minus2. The have activated charcoal that pull out toxic gases in the air. People don’t know but a lot of things off-gas. Plastics etc
