- This is an EXTREME DIY Back Yard Clean Up! Our neighbors trees were fallen down in our Back Yard Patio & Kids Play area, but they finally hired Tree Removal, so we've got to clean up everything that was left behind! We've been working on so many outdoor House Projects, and trying to DIY everything to save money, it makes the before and afters so satisfying and rewarding!

We’re FINALLY getting our back yard back! This was supposed to be a full Back Yard Patio Makeover, but there was so much yard work to do that we ended up with a whole video about it. 😅 It was a lot of work, but I’m just so happy to finally have it done.

Oh Megan you have such a great back yard. Yes it needs some work. But when you live up north it takes that much longer to fix. But so much potential. I would save some of those maples and plant for shade. So excited for you all and see your happy place.😅
We already have some trees for shade, so we’d rather have more lawn space to enjoy!

I can’t imagine my tree falling in a neighbor’s yard and not even helping clean up the mess.. I’ve learned that Karma never forgets..I just bought my house a year ago and my new neighbors across the street have an intact male mastiff that charges at me snarling and growling every time I go outside. The woman yells at him but he pays her no mind. He probably weighs at least 180 lbs.. I’ve had 3 strokes at 68 and I am not getting bitten. I started walking around with a can of hornet spray and now they keep him in their fenced in back yard. I love dogs . I have a German shepherd and a husky. I would have hated to spray him but he was so aggressive at me.. it just me and my dogs that are in their fenced back yard but he could have easily knocked me over and the neighbor has zero control. I can’t imagine my dog doing that, and not doing anything about it. My shepherd can be very intimidating but she is very balanced and she knows that im the boss.. not once in 4 months did anyone come to me to apologize, for letting their dog terrorize me and any contractors that were doing work at the house.

Just subscribed and feel your pain. Our neighbors tree, same thing. We had "contributory negligence". We didn't prune limbs that hung over the property line and aerial space property line. He was an attorney. We had to clean up like you. Very overwhelming!
We had no part of what happened with ours. The neighbor had a beetle infestation that killed all of his trees. He ended up being forced to remove all of them from his yard because they were a falling hazard.

WOW Megan, the yard looks great! It will look even better when you get the kids little house fix up & clean up the swing & tree house, then power wash done. Maybe some painting. It really looks good! Love the mower, my husband had one for awhile & he loved his too. Rode it to the 7-11 just a couple blocks away! Can't wait to see the rest! Thanks for sharing ♥️ ☺️ 🎉

Yeah it was rough! That’s the first negative neighbor experience we’ve had. I hope nothing else like that happens as long as we live here.
We had alot if wind storms here destroyed alot if trees they fell the plow guy did a number on our yard when he plowed omg we live in maine hard winter times but u two did great

I remember! Lol it was all done up for a whole 3 days before the trees fell on top of it. 😅 it’s okay though, we have a great set up now!
A recommendation for the awning on the play set, when I was little my parents used drop cloths (like the heavy duty cloth ones at Lowe's and Home Depot) and they last for years compared to the tarp like ones!
We actually just cut it off since the structure was also damaged 😊

Glad you got your yard back! Side note, I work in Insurance, and your neighbor was 100% responsible for needing to remove HIS trees from your yard, AND repairing your neighbors fence. Looks great! 😊

You're actually incorrect. The neighbor's responsibility for his tree ends at the property line. The only exception would be if the neighbor had been put on notice for sick/diseased/dead trees and failed to take action; in other words, the neighbor would have to have been negligent. That said, dude is still a DB for not stepping up and being a good neighbor.
I remember when this happened and how frustrated you've been with the whole situation. I'm so glad it's finally over and you can get it all cleaned up!

Yes, yard work is hard work! But, it’s rewarding when it’s done. My ex tried to do a little trash compacting one time, almost like Derrick did. It ended with an ER trip because he fractured his elbow in two places. Good times!😳
