Hi friends, thanks for the continued support!
People often ask how they can help me with my work, but can't commit to a Patreon subscription. Watching and sharing my videos is more than enough of a contribution, however if you are someone who would like to help fund one of my 'free' clean up jobs without signing up to anything, I now have a 'Buy Me a Coffee' page. You can donate $5 or more if this is something which interests you :) www.buymeacoffee.com/bladematelL
    Kind regards
    Sean

I'm old, I vowed to never let my wheelie bin go empty on collection day, so I whip out my disabled husband's reciprocating saw and if I see something that needs to go and it's too big to fit in the bin, I cut it up first. I also walk the yard periodically and if something looked unnecessary, dead, or worn out, I tossed it in the bin. Slow and steady gets it done even when you're in your 70s and you're not in the best of health. I'm lucky I don't have arthritis, so I have full use of my hands, and only have to contend with wrist pain from carpel tunnel issues and worn-out knees.

    • @Justaskme781
      @Justaskme781 Рік тому

I hope by now you have had a carpal tunnel syndrome operation. I had it done on each one of my wrists and it changed my life. No more swelling no more pain. Each took about a week to heal was very little scarring which that part didn't matter to me. Good luck to you

I love that most of your commenters are good people, only saw one "that is lazy" comment. What people who don't live with chronic pain don't understand is that it is exhausting. Getting a good night's sleep doesn't happen, so you wake up tired every morning. And going through life with constant pain wears you out. Everything seems like a huge hurdle. Kudos to you, Sean, for all that you do and for your compassionate heart. I wish I had someone like you in my life. Instead, I have a jerk who keeps reporting me to the city. He mows his lawn and the church lawn TWICE a week unless there is snow on the ground, and wants to hold me to that standard. It isn't possible.

I know what it is like to be unable to do the things you want. You give these folks more than a clean yard-----you give them hope. To look at something like that yard and know there is nothing you can do, is depressing and gives a feeling of defeat. You give them a fresh look on life and give them hope. God bless you and keep up the good work. You are a blessing.

I like these makeovers and I can understand how it can get out of control. Often these big old yard become dumping grounds and too hard to manage.
I myself honestly had a fear of lawn mowers, hated the noise and I think it was from being hit by a stray rock as a kid. I’ve managed to move on over the last 2 years and now my own lawn and even buy my first ever mower. I don’t mind it now and especially that feeling of satisfaction when it’s mowed and nest. I don’t even have a large lawn but managed to hand weeds 2 foot high through parts for a few years, now there’s none, just pull them out as they pop up.
I appreciate all this work you do for those that need it, I know how much the recipient would really appreciate it.

Not having a way to take big items to the tip, or having the funds to get rubbish removal is not always possible. Councils really need to bring back curb side collection! Not everyone can do these things physically or financially for themselves.

Hope someone is coming out to move the big stuff for her for the Council Cleanup. Last council cleanup that we had, our son had to take time off work to help us move stuff and we only and little stuff. It sure makes a difference getting rid of stuff that we once thought we could do something with and then things just get worse, so they stuff dies a slow death while making an eyesore.

I really like that you guys cleaned up the yard. I dont understand how people live with that much filth, losing all that yard is such a waste. I know alot of people who would be grateful to have a yard like that.

🌿 How about that. As you had said, the tall vegetation is the easy part. Good to have Nathan to help. Still lots can be done to improve this backyard. At least for now, it is a job well-done! 👍

A hard days work for the both of you, the lady has a bit more of her yard back thanks to your labors, now it's time for a little liquid courage to end the day, I trust a pint or four of Guinness will do the trick for you, so, bottoms up and may your day be cheery and bright cheers

That vegitation on the pool fence looks like its Jasmine, which is quite a climber when it gets going. Nice white flowers and smell... but can certainly take over places. Go the ham on those ones up top, and they will bounce back... probably even more so up the hunter.

Always a pleasure Sean seeing you & your buddy... 🙏💪💪🙏🤗

Normally I don't like music during work videos, but the choice kinda has a homestead feel to it =)
