    I’m 66 retired and hunt last week October and first 3 weeks of November all day every day. Life is great. Waited my adult life for this opportunity. I never miss pre rut or rut

    I have also had great luck in pre rut with calling and light rattling. It has at least tripled my odds of success.

      I think I need to practice my rattling. Never had a buck come into it here.

    Going to be warmer than normal here in PA.highs near 70 lows 45 to 50 at night.i am finding a definite increase in rubs and scrapes.would you still hunt with these conditions? And would you hunt morning or evening? Today is Oct 23

      I would also like to see some feedback on this. I consider thermals when hunting, especially when the days are much warmer than the mornings m. When the days are warmer, I prefer to hunt morning time so my scent is lifted up by the air warming up (thermals) from the rising sun.

      I would hunt mornings. Sorry for the late reply but in the cooler weather mornings will be good before it heats up in the afternoon. Movement might pick up right before dark too. Stay tight to pinch points and thick transitional cover. Also WATER! Bucks are moving a lot and will seek out water anyways but when we add this heat to the mix, place a premium on those water sources!!

    A RUB LINE AND ESPECIALLY A FRESH RUB LINE IS USUALLY A GOOD SPOT TO SET UP OVER. A RUB LINE THAT IS

    Yes, alot of good points. No matter how good of a hunter you think you are and a the homework you've done, someone has done even more extensive research then you. I like watching these videos to gain more information

      Thanks! And you are right, we all have more to learn and should try to make sure we are listening to others experiences. We can't move forward if we think we know it all..

    How do I know what is my best stand

      That will vary by the time of day and the wind. for the most part Mornings hunt the cover, afternoons hunt the food. Always hunt downwind.

    Does making licking beaches on cored or trails improve holding 🦌,?

    • @whitetailevolution
      @whitetailevolution  Рік тому

      Yes and no, I don't think having a licking branch or a scrape on your property will make a buck want to bed there, but having them on your property will keep him busy while he works the scrapes. The more time he spends on your property, the less time he spends on the neighbors.

    I want to know what type of camera you used to get those video's, and the set up.

    • @whitetailevolution
      @whitetailevolution  Рік тому

      I primary use two cameras for the videos. The Exodus Lift II and Browning Dark Ops Full HD. Both are great cameras and don't spook deer often, if at all. The set up for most of the videos is on a perennial scrape where several main trails come together.
