    It looks really good, using a sponge was definitely the right way to go.

    I appreciate the suggestions on how to work with Contrast on large vehicles. I find it daunting to try and match Contrast painted troops with non-Contrast vehicles. Using a brush to paint large vehicles can be difficult enough getting smooth colors.

    Really great video, my brother! Honestly, the effect looks Airbrushed and the fact that you've replicated that look by hand without taking an agonizing amount of time blending it traditionally is incredibly impressive!!! I think this Landraider looks absolutely phenomenal, my brother! Keep up this badassery!!!

    Well it turned out ok, but I would also like to give it a shot with an airbrush to see how that contrast paint would look when sprayed on.

    • @ThePickleJar
      @ThePickleJar  4 роки тому +2

      I think it’d look loads better through an airbrush. It’ll give the same effect just smoother. I don’t own an airbrush (yet) so wasn’t able to show that technique off

    • @Capamaru78
      @Capamaru78 4 роки тому +1

      @@ThePickleJar Well I really appreciate you taking the time and trying to make it work without an airbrush because most people dont own one. Also the sponge idea is pretty useful not only with contrast paints.

    I'm also from Eavier metal and like I said over there, most reasonable people understand that UA-cam uses an algorithm which creators MUST consider, its not being done because they are Spikey bits wannabe's. Good solution to a tricky problem, trust me on this though, get an airbrush - you will never make a better hobby move, Contrast paints work so well through them too. Have a wee sub for your efforts.

    Actually looks very nice. I might have to try that out. I'm just starting a Salamanders army, having become a bit tired of Ultramarines that I've played since 1987. With a bit of a break for 4th and 5th edition when I didn't play 40k, and some of that time I've had Eldar, Guard, Sisters, and the moment I have some Custodes and Knights I occasionally get on the table. (My kids play Orks and Chaos.)
