    Great detailed video!! My 2015 Honda Accord was in a flooding. Water came into the cabin up to the seats, so obviously the module was under water. Airbag light is the only light on. I haven’t ran a diagnostic on it, but will the module go bad if submerged in water?

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  2 роки тому +1

      Yes if you had water/flood damage then airbag control module will be bad for sure. You will need to get a replacement. Get new or used. Make sure to get same part number. The part number will be on top of the module. Used airbag control module can be purchased at car-parts.com. However, if you did not have water damage and vehicle was in an accident, we can reset the module. Visit our website for more info myairbags.com

    Pls can you advice me on my ACURA TSX 2010, If i replaced my Airbag module with the module removed from other car without airbag deployment, will the airbag light go away or the module is plug and play. and would my car still needs to be reprogrammed by the dealer. Pls advice me on this.. Thanks

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  3 роки тому

      Gabriel, when you choose to go with a replacement module, first you have to make you find a replacement module that has the same exact part as the original. The model/part number on airbag / srs modules for Acura and Honda always begin with these number " 77960 ... "
      Once you find a good working module with the correct match by part number, THEN you would have to program the replacement module to the car since its not original.
      You can avoid all this, by using the reset service. Our reset service costs a fraction of new parts and because its original to your car, programming is not needed. This is why our customer prefer the reset service we offer. The service is only needed for after accident modules.
      If your car was in an accident you need the module replaced / reset along with the deployed seat belts / buckles, you put in your service order here: www.myairbags.com/product-category/repair-return/airbag-module-reset/

    Do you guys recalibrate seat positioning sensor

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  4 роки тому

      If you get a Seat positioning sensor / or occupant sensor code, that code is stored in OCM / OCSM Occupant Classification System Module. Your Occupant module may be disconnected. Check the plug /wires leading to that sensor. Its located on the front passenger seat on the side, or under the passenger seat, right on the seat itself, (not on the floor). If you replaced the front passenger seat for any reason, go to the old seat, remove the original sensor and install it on the new seat. Finally, if you check the plug / wires and this is not a situation where you replaced the front passenger seat then the occupant sensor may need to be re-calibrated or replaced. Usually the re-calibration does it.

    Hello MyAirbags I have a small issues. My 2017 accord has 12K miles and out of nowhere the airbag light came on in the dash but I never wrecked the car or messed with the airbag system. I got a scan tool and it said “front passenger impact sensor not sending a signal”. Where is the sensor located ? I can’t seem to find it. Is it like the seat airbag sensors where by just unplugging and re plug it solves the light on the dash ? Thanks.

      Myles, The first step is to diagnose the airbag light. Hook up the scan tool / scanner to the car and read the airbag codes. You connect the scan tool right into the OBD port/plug. Its usually located below the steering wheel, on the left. You are welcome to reply to us with the trouble code that it reads.

      So I drove through some water and the next day my airbag light came on. No accident and Im wondering if I dried off the srs module if it might work. Also the dealership is telling me that the srs system has to be programmed to the vin number of my car or it will deploy the airbag and thats why they need to do it. Is that just a scam statement to get me to use them?

    • @MyAirbags

      If its water damage, yes it can be true. If you get down to the module, you should see a part number on the top that begins with "77960-....."

      If your vehicle was in an accident then it will have crash history in the airbag module that needs to be sent to myairbags.com to be reset. But, if the vehicle was not in an accident and light just came on one day or you did some work on your car and then the light came on, it will be best to check all wiring and then if light still on, have it scanned with a diagnostic scan tool for codes.

      1. NOTE: Refer to the correct removal and installation procedure for all SRS components being installed.
      When any deployable device or combination of devices have deployed and/or the airbag control module (ACM/RCM) has DTC 5-1 in memory, the repair of the vehicle SRS is to include the removal of all deployed devices and the installation of new deployable devices, the removal and installation of new impact sensors and the removal and installation of a new ACM/RCM. DTCs must be cleared from all required modules after repairs are carried out.
      Vehicles with Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) system
      2. NOTE: After installation of new Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) components, carry out the Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) System Reset procedure as instructed in the workshop manual. Refer to the appropriate workshop manual for OCS system removal and installation procedure.
      When a vehicle has been involved in a collision and the Occupant Classification System Module (OCSM) has DTC 5-1 stored in memory, the repair of the OCS system is to include the following procedures for the specified system:
      For rail-type OCS system, inspect the passenger side floorpan for damage and repair as necessary. Install new OCS system rails. Do not install a new OCSM unless DTC 5-1 cannot be cleared.
      For weight sensor bolt-type OCS system, inspect the passenger side floorpan for damage and repair as necessary. Install a new seat track with OCS system weight sensor bolts. DTC must be cleared from the OCSM before carrying out Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) System Reset. Do not install a new OCSM unless DTC 5-1 cannot be cleared.
      For bladder-type OCS system, inspect for damage and repair as necessary. If installation of an OCS system component is required, an OCS system service kit must be installed.

      Code B00A0 is stored in OCM / OCSM Occupant Classification System Module.

      You’re right Ronin. I just spent WAAAY more time taking mine out and also had to use a few extra tools. A smaller ratchet set and a Philips screwdriver to take off the plastic piece on the passenger side since there’s not a lot of room to work. That bold on the driver side is a pain because your ratchet is close to the gas pedal which is another reason I had to use a smaller ratchet. Glad I finally got it out though.
