Chevrolet got dragged into the Supercars parity debate through no fault of its own in 2023. Beyond the noise and politics, it was sensational debut season for the brand as it replaced Holden in GM's corner. Chevrolet Racing's General Manager Chris Payne sat down with the KTM Summer Grill.

Reliability? 3 cars caught on fire, a number had issues with the transition and heaps had power steering issues. These cars weren't ready for racing at the beginning of 2023. Two years of testing on runways and none in racing conditions until handed over to the drivers that had no input at all during the build up.

Stop trying to make the cars the same. The coyote's a better motor and makes more power than the Chev, if allowed. Allow the Camaro's more aero, but offset that by allowing the Mustang's more power. Give the cars strengths & weaknesses.
