Another great video I have a question. I used my pressure washer last week and site glass was ok and yesterday my AR pump glass look a bit milky then ran out of gas, then ten minutes later lost half the pressure and the site glass was all milky. that mins that I need a new pump it’s an old Craftsman 3400 PSI 4 GPM. 11HP. the pump is a AR XM 4G32 and I can’t seem to find any parts for it or may be i am not looking at the right places any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thank you for the detailed video on power washer pumps. After watching this video I will definitely be checking the oil in the pump.
I really appreciate your videos. Thanks again.

i just bought a commercial electric pressure washer that has a comet heavy duty pump installed on it from an auction, just like thie pump on your video it has milk in the crank, when i tested it, the pressure is working fantastic, nothing is broken, but it is leaking from the head, i am assuming that the water seal packing is shot, i have yet to find the seal kit for that particular pump but do you think i should be looking for something else that might cause the water to get into the crank? thanks

Your oil seals are most likely bad. Go to watercannon.com they can help you locate the parts. Drain the oil. Flush the crank with paint thinner. Drain, and refill with SAE 30 non detergent. Run for about 20 mins with the water hose on and pressure hose off. Make sure the water is running. After 20 mons drain and refill

Hi Brian, I have the same AR pump but electric. My Problem is on startup it sometimes comes to full pressure with the trigger pulled on. When I release the trigger off, then back on it flows but won't come back to full pressure. No water in the oil. What oil does it take? I don't know how to adjust the pressure adjustment screw?

Of you get full pressure, but then after releasing and then pulling the trigger again the pressure is low, the flow sensor could be faulty. Try quickly pulling and releasing the trigger several times. Let me know
The oil is SAE 30 Non-detergent.

Thanks for making this video. I have a greater understanding how the internal mechanisms work. Great screenshots and technical instructions.

I zipped tied my handle trigger open
That’s the best way and it works

I have a ar xmv 4g30 pump. It is dripping water from the bottom of the pump head. I replaced the seals in the front of the pump around the piston, but it is still dripping water. I have noticed the pump oil is cloudy as well. What do you think the problem is? The pressure washer seems to be working fine

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy

Sorry, I missed your comment. If the water is cloudy, you have a leak from the plunger into the crank case. Total rebuild needed or replace full pump

Can I really build a belt driven pressure washer.

Assembling a pressure washer is not hard to do. Many of the guys with mobile set up buy the pumps, plumbing and engines seperate and assemble on their trailers

Hello Brian, great video as always, question ? if your pressure washer is always in a warm garage when you store it for the winter, temperature never go's below 65 F, other than run the crab out of fuel, change the oil and treat the fuel, do you still need to run pump saver through the pump to coat the seals ?

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy
      @Brian_the_repair_guy  Рік тому +2

Using the pump saver protects the metal from corrosion and keeps the seals from drying out as well

@@Brian_the_repair_guy, Hello Brian, I kinda new that lol, just trying to not blame myself if that’s the reason my oil seals may have started leaking after a two year storage, Honda started on the 4th pull. Keep up the good work! your a good teacher and you explain very well,
