I chill everytime I watch the opening intro. This game attaches me emotionally to the strong nostalgia some dozen years back then. Every one involved in the development of this game is insane. The meticulously beautiful graphics, the 3D environments, the atmosphere of the soundtracks, the voice of the narrator, the cutscenes. Of all the games I've played this game still has never bored me for years. Nothing compares to this game, not even its next sequels. Simply the best game ever!
The soundtracks during every mission is just out of this world. I played this game when i was like 10 year old and played it many many more times during my life. Honestly Commandos 2 is absolutely masterpiece. Am i on same boat as you about Commandos 3? It just doesn't cut it in my opinion. It's more like action based rather than "take your time make a plan think etc" and controls are just rubbish as well as camera.
C2 taught me to plan to the details, micro movements can be fatal I had to quicksave a lot even a tiny progress. C3 lost some commandos feel in it, some characters were removed and so were some hotkeys. The time constrained levels limit me to observe the maps and situations. Only a short try and I left C3 for good.
I remember how I played this game on LAN with my brother, we didn't even have skype or TS, and we shouthed to each other from one room to another xd :D good old times
Can you freaking believe they've censored this awesome intro in the HD Remaster? They removed most images with German flags and all the Hitler footage and replaced with some generic footage! Why? It's a game about World War 2. What is so wrong about showing period-accurate historical figures and national icons of one of the countries you fight against?
@@koeniglichen91 yes, I am aware that Germany held a longtime tradition of censoring swastikas and Hitler imagery in games (and basically everywhere else outside of the historical education context), but even that won't do as an excuse this time, because Germany has modified its stance on the matter since 2018. I honestly fail to see the point of removing then now. Even MORE ludicruos is the fact that they also censored the rising sun (aka the big red circle in Japan's flag) and removed it from Japanese planes during the Pacific missions.

I just watched the HD remaster intro and I think it is quite the shame that it has been censored for seemingly no reason. They are just short clips of Hitler or German units which shouldn't ruffle any feathers. That being said, I just finished War Mongrels which is a game similar to Commandos. Most of the bugs from release have been fixed and overall it is a very good game. It also comes with collectibles you can find which are either letters, propaganda posters or "newspapers" with information about WW2. Completing a level also gives you access to a mini-documentary about WW2. The game focus on the Eastern Europe part of the war, which is a nice change from all the Normandy/West settings games normally portray. A little bit of heads up. This game gives you a raw presentation of war, which goes way beyond how Commandos used to set up their missions. Map 3 and 8 are quite brutal in their portrayal of the horrors of war. This game does not sugarcoat anything.
Commandos 2: Man Of Courage is 1/15 games what im scored Legendary 10/10 but kids dont like tactical gameplay is to hard for them so almast nobady create games like this ;/ game got also amazing soundtrack , amazing secret missions , historical content in movies what they even know Poland is First Allied full respect for that...

Are the same levels but modified, for example, in the first mision is now in the night, and there are a lot Gestapo officers, and, if you want to enter in a house you must "enter" by the windows with the thief and open the door. There are only a few differences with the original Commandos
that commandos 2 is very easy game. try to punch all enemies without killing them at commandos2 game named dus boot, silent killers. only the hardest thing on the game. i would wish that some body would come to play that game in net

Games (and gameplay) were much better then rather than now. Nowadays everything is just wicked graphics and a lot of action, bang bang and weak stories on an X-Box or PS3. Playing games like this and fps-games on a TV-console with a controller with its little wheel is stupid.
Its a perfect game, one of the rare one that shows germans and the occupying german forces as humans , both in gameplay and merely just as opponents, same for the japanese, youre also getting better scores for actual less violent less lethal infiltrations. Personally, it was one of my introduction to WW2, I have actively observed and gravitated toward every political and ethnic player and political ideologies to learn more after seeing them in games like that, it was a pretty bad decisions, every winner and losers of world war 2 got incredibly embarassing contemporary supporters and campaigners, and they are quite often rotten people. They all convinced me one by one these group ideas are the ones of exterminators and torturers, even the british revolution inspiring marx to pen up socialism and communism got me sick by correlation and through a lot of self provided and self evident moments. In fact, Commands is one of the rare games that don't focus on the social engineering cool aid, it humanize all these people and organisations because they were made and championed by humans, their weaknesses are human, that kind of portrayal is required for a game where both player controlled units and PVE units are just hyper agressive hyper damaging squishbags ! Just like any infantry in real life too ! Pullllls it so great too.
