Listening to this nowadays feels like stretching to some past life that doesn't exist anymore. I don't get such nostalgy even from my childhood memories. The memories from playing vanilla-tbc-wotlk is now an essential part of my soul.
I know that exact feeling, that you can only seem to convey to like minded old WoW vets. Everyone is familiar with nostalgia but I am convinced that old WoW specifically causes crushing nostalgia on a different level than what most people can understand. This isn't just any old nostalgia.
That little part that begins at 6:15 and sounds like a clarinet or even an oboe always gets me nostalgic. Thanks so much! I grew up (in WoW) living in the Barrens and Ashenvale. Wonderful memories.

Honest truth old wow broke my brain permanently. Any time Im feeling miserable which is a lot these days Im just constantly overwhelmed with nostalgia for those times and my old guildmates. Sad to say but it was the most fun Ive ever had in life period, and never being able to match or return to it is killing me. So true. I totally didn't give a shit back then. Home straight from school; hit that PC power button. Could not fucking wait to get home. It sucked out a huge chunk of my life, and I don't even play video games any more, i get too existential, but when I think back on those times, it's hard to think of when I enjoyed myself more than, or even as much as those times. Original 40 man raids on MC and BWL... 40 vs 40 Alterac Valley with one game that went over 2 days with Alliance never winning! Befriending people from interstate, and even over seas, catching up over teamspeak every night like you're mates from school after first meeting up for the first time for a Mara run at the princess. I get annoyed and feel the pain of wanting that feeling again of what I once had, but then I appreciate that I have those awesome memories.
I may end up having to put your name in the acknowledgements of my PhD dissertation. I've had these videos going almost non-stop the past 1½ year! Perfect for both reading and writing. The only problem is they make you want to go home and play. :) Thank you for your service, sir!
Come on back, the game is more exciting than ever with Power Leveling and the exciting new expansions...oh wait, I bet you're bosses and wives would HATE that. Well I guess your free time is not you're own. I still enjoy the game. The only annoying thing about it is the mobs are no longer realistically strong, now they're "one swipe and dead" but you can still do Mount Raids where you can tank the raids by yourself and get a nice, rare mount as a reward.

Well done, Everness. I noticed your efforts there! I appreciate all of these, just like you do. I rolled in Vanilla and have been playing ever since. Lots of good content over the years, but Vanilla will always be most special.
Actually to be honest - I enjoy it more when these "goosebump" tracks appear twice or three times during these 1 hour music videos. Like the Dun Morogh video you made - the piano piece which gives me goosebump is included twice I think. Around the 14th and 48th minute marks.
Goodness, listening to this is something almost impossible to put into words, that sounds so dramatic and cliché, but damn, the nostalgia overload of memories and laughter and exploration that this brings back is unbelievable, this and many other moments in that game will forever be carved into one of the best times of my life, im sure many others on here feel the same. Has anyone gone to the barrens alone at night with headphones on and max ambience, it’s the most peaceful thing you can experience, also make sure it’s dark in your room
As someone previously commented, 14:11 gets me seriously thinking of what the Orcs, Trolls, and Tauren of the Horde went through in trying to make a life for themselves. That part of Barrens music makes me think of all the struggles, loss, and perseverance all members of the Horde go through in trying to survive through Kalimdor. At the same time, uniting under one banner to make a home for themselves in such perilous lands.. such hardships, brings some water to the eyes.
Cried to these videos, I miss the good times ive had with this game and the people I met in azeroth.. Really miss them. Met my wife in wow, xroads. Played over 11 years.. Have to raise a hat, thats a damn long time. Great videos! Ty for this feeling :,)

I started with wotlk, but on a potato. Never got far, then Cataclysm dropped and the potato couldn't handle it. Years went by. Met a guy at work last year who told me about the rebirth of WoW Classic, and I'm so happy to get to experience it again on a good computer! I can't believe the world building, so amazing!
Where does time go.. I played this early lich king days, i loved it. It was a world of its own, the memories are just so pure. I feel sad and happy at the same time hearing this. Comming back from school just to play this all weekend was the best feeling and childhood memory i had. Things where not always peacefull where i grew up but this helped me through it big time.
I know for a lot of people their memories around the Barrens are from classic but cata barrens are really nostalgic for me. Just running around with that caravan kodo, fighting the quillboars, doing all the different quests around the weird oases while trying to avoid all the centaurs... good times.
Something very calming and simple about this music. Puts me completely back to running home after school to play. Get ganked in the barrens, move up maybe 1 bar of experience, then logout to do homework.
10:29 My favorite, when I played. Somehow the music seemed meaningful while I was wasting away my hours with the terrain moving past me while I was collecting the next quest item.
The feeling when you entered The Barrens as an Alliance player and you see it on red font "Horde Territory" those feelings, man. I wish I could experience that all over again. Shortly after I re-rolled horde XD
I love your videos because of how wonderfully immersive and vibrant WoW was for me the many years I played it. Sitting here and listening and idly watching the different scenes is like returning to a place I've not seen for a long time!
@Everness I worked on the World of Warcraft team during vanilla (artist). When I listen to these tracks it brings me back. Jason Hayse composed a lot of these songs as well, please credit him.
WoW music videos always bring memories of my childhood, so much fun, so little responsibilities. This is awesome and Im actually glad I had a childhood like that! ♥
Troll voice: "Not enough Energy!!" "I don't have enough Energy.." "Not enough Energy!!" "I don't have enough Energy.." "Too Fah awayeh" I remember running between the Oasis spots in barrens fishing for Deviate Fish to sell so people could cook up deviate delights. Think there used to be a rare that would spawn in one of the little lakes in front of WC that dropped a 1h axe. Then when alliance showed up to fish at these lakes nearly shit myself cause of the skull icon next to their name. /Wave usually worked though! As long as you gave him those fishing nodes. Here's to hoping WoW classic can give me at least half the fun I had back when I was 8-9 wandering around being dumb back in Vanilla.
Thank you for this! These videos are so calming and de-stressing. I haven’t played WoW in years, but sometimes I would log in just to have the background ambience playing. Now you’ve done that for me, can’t thank you enough!
I tell ya, I put this on at night when I try to sleep and I start dreaming I’m back in the barrens leveling an orc, charging at the quilboars and slaying the plainstriders. Oh the good old days!
renewing my subscription after my exams, havent played since MoP. Man i just want to level a character, read all the quests, not have to rush anything and just absorb the atmosphere of my favorite zones, which Barrens is definitely one of.
Its been a decade since I've heard this music and i'm loving it! More vanilla Kalimdor areas please! Stonetalon Mountains, Felwood, Thousand needles, Ungoro!
My oldest memory happened in the barrens, I was playing my first ever char, an orc warrior named "Kagorotoos" and i believe it took me like 6+ months to hit level 20 LMAO (I think it was during BC but idk, I was around 7 or something and im 19 now...) my professions were like mining and leatherworking but luckily i met a druid who for some reason had blacksmithing and we made each other gear :) It was such a good experience and i'll always be happy my grandpa introduced me to this game. Its such a shame it turned out badly, i wish i could relive those same moments again :(
Everness you are the inspiration for all of us. Scenes are perfectly matched with the music. All this is bringing great memories. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Poland.
i love every single piece of this soundstrack, The feelings of the old days. U are alone ... against this whole big world full of darkness and mystery. Man i facking love the nostalgia this zone brings me.
Like many others here, I have super fond memories of running around the Barrens with my first Tauren Druid. Had virtually no idea what I was doing half the time, but that was part of the fun. Thanks for helping me get through the work day!
This is breathe-taking... reminds me of my troll shaman wondering around barrens trying to level up and doing my totem quests at the middle of nights... while everyone was sleeping, me and my headphones were busy creating these fucking fantastic memories and feelings...
The only thing I ever did in world of Warcraft was running around exploring the world, trying to find rare items and pets, hiding from the enemies as a rogue, going on spying missions and having amazing fun adventures while my friends were sitting and screaming at me in Ventrilo that I have to level up so I can play the game properly... good times
The great thing about wow is that you know you had a great day when you see the sun go up and down but in the game lmao. Joke aside, make quest in the night in the barrens when everyone is asleep was something. And when you meet somebody at 3am he was your bff
Thanks a lot for these videos! They're really great for working/studying or just reminiscing about the good old days :) The ambience sounds add a lot as well, great idea to keep those alongside the music.
For the horde!!!! I will never forget feeling that I got from playing wow inside gaming room in my town with other friends nearby... We would go swimming in the sea after few hours of wow, and some of us would yell for the horde on the beach while jumping off cliffs haha really great times, I am so grateful that I was one of the kids that parents could afford playing every day in gaming room for few hours...
So glad to hear others get goose bumps listening to this such wonderful memories I will never forget the experience and have yet to capture it in any other game
TBH, warcraft lore is the most amazing video game ever crafted, from the very first concept drawing from wc1 to this incredible fast and authentic ogre world to entertaint million of people for a incredible long period of time. Myself I spent time with wc3 and I am still totally amazed how incredible high standards it was when wc3 was created.
Just here to let you know how much these vids mean to me. (Including the skyrim ones..skyrim and WoW both have been the biggest parts of my childhood.) Barrens specifically, I remember waking up around midnight with my neighbor down the street that often spent the night , just so we could mine around the barrens and fish for deviates in the ponds.. wed always have the blinds to the window behind us open because the moonlight offered a lot of visibility without having a light on to notify the parents. We would always take a piss outside before we started cause the bathroom was super close to parents room, and they were both light sleepers. Starting the dial up at the time was always the scariest part..we didnt know how to turn the volume down since the speakers didnt have a nob on them. But once we finally were able to log in.. without many people online due to the time of day..beautiful 300ms. My neighbor went on to move to North Carolina, a long distance from vegas. Basically lost contact with him which was one of the saddest parts of my childhood since I lived in the middle of nowhere and he was the only kid around. I've played WoW since I was around 8 years old (none of TBC..for reasons I dont remember. Which is extremely sad). And I can say with confidence that retail WoW offers no gratifying content for me to partake in personally, and I'm awaiting Classic servers with open arms. hoping classic comes out early summer..not later
One of my favorite things to do from cata until now (since you couldn't fly in Azeroth until cata) is to go out at night from Org into the Barrens and fly around. Land. Run around. Just listen to the music and enjoy the scenery. One of my favorite zones in wow.
After watching many of your World of Warcraft videos, I have no choice but to accept my ignorance about life and the universe... 😊 Thanks a lot to Everness for posting these videos and to Blizzard Entertainment for creating the game! 👍 👍
Oh the memories this brings :D Thank you so much Everness for posting these. I don't know how I would work through the day without being able to listen to these videos :D :D :D
My first ever orc warrior on TBC, fighting pig dudes with a two handed sword, all equipment red, dying all the time, sitting after every kill to regen life, took what seemed like an eternity to go to 1000Needles... I miss those days.
That's how it started again for me. >Hmm, what could I listen to today >That theme was good, it's been a while, let's go >Nostalgia Brick Wall charges. >Nostalgia Brick Wall casts Hamstring on you. >Nostalgia Brick Wall's Mortal Strike crits you for 99999999. >You are dead. See a pattern?

Something very calming and simple about this music. Puts me completely back to running home after school to play. Get ganked in the barrens, move up maybe 1 bar of experience, then logout to do homework.
10:29 My favorite, when I played. Somehow the music seemed meaningful while I was wasting away my hours with the terrain moving past me while I was collecting the next quest item.
Barrens without Barrens Chat is not the same...
Chuck Norris dosen't sleep. He waits.
He waits for every player that comes by crossroads. From Vanilla to Battle of Azeroth.
Chuck Norris does his grocery shopping at Home Depot.
Where is Mankrik’s wife?
Chuck Norris IS the big bang
I remember coming to the Barrens with a rogue and keeping it in stealth to listen to music like that in 2007. God, what a time. 😓
Bruh, this video is the essence of life!
This music has no right to bring sooooo much memories ! Nostalgia hits really hard here, love it !
6:15 is one of the best music pieces in the game.
Wow, I miss my teenager days when degrading at school because of this game. Good old times.
@9:35 "The land will weep 1" such a somber and beautiful piece. God. DAMN. That's good nostalgia.
When it is Winter here in Germany... i must warm up my Soul in the Barrens.
14:16 to 15:00 the reason I'm here!
Same, best part..
Troll voice: "Not enough Energy!!"
"I don't have enough Energy.."
"Not enough Energy!!"
"I don't have enough Energy.."
"Too Fah awayeh"
I remember running between the Oasis spots in barrens fishing for Deviate Fish to sell so people could cook up deviate delights.
AH CAHN CAREE DAT!
Been playing on a private server lately, been in the barrens for ages now, never get tired of the music.
Thank you for this! These videos are so calming and de-stressing. I haven’t played WoW in years, but sometimes I would log in just to have the background ambience playing. Now you’ve done that for me, can’t thank you enough!
Will you be coming back for WoW classic?
I tell ya, I put this on at night when I try to sleep and I start dreaming I’m back in the barrens leveling an orc, charging at the quilboars and slaying the plainstriders. Oh the good old days!
An hour of Barrens music? Thats exactly how long it took me to get anywhere!
Life would be so much better if it had this type of music playing in the background :
renewing my subscription after my exams, havent played since MoP. Man i just want to level a character, read all the quests, not have to rush anything and just absorb the atmosphere of my favorite zones, which Barrens is definitely one of.
Standing in line for the new expansion in blockbuster! Installing it , talking through Skype with friends! That time is PRICELESS!
Its been a decade since I've heard this music and i'm loving it! More vanilla Kalimdor areas please! Stonetalon Mountains, Felwood, Thousand needles, Ungoro!
6:14-10:29, my favorite piece of music in the game, tied with some from Ashenvale. Loved leveling in old Barrens.
beautiful
Thank you! Very nice to hear that.
i love every single piece of this soundstrack, The feelings of the old days.
Couple years ago I had the idea of putting ambient sounds and music with high quality panoramas of zones, and you actually did it. Nice job.
This is breathe-taking... reminds me of my troll shaman wondering around barrens trying to level up and doing my totem quests at the middle of nights... while everyone was sleeping, me and my headphones were busy creating these fucking fantastic memories and feelings...
The only thing I ever did in world of Warcraft was running around exploring the world, trying to find rare items and pets, hiding from the enemies as a rogue, going on spying missions and having amazing fun adventures while my friends were sitting and screaming at me in Ventrilo that I have to level up so I can play the game properly... good times
15 years since i played wow,
I remember all these songs.
Tauren 1 and 2 songs , best ever! Ty for sharing , and bringing the good emotions back!
I never knew nostalgia hit so many different feelings.
Finally, I can relive the full month of hearing this music every day.
The great thing about wow is that you know you had a great day when you see the sun go up and down but in the game lmao.
Joke aside, make quest in the night in the barrens when everyone is asleep was something. And when you meet somebody at 3am he was your bff
20 years later and still one of the best BGMs
Bring me back to these old times...
Thanks a lot for these videos! They're really great for working/studying or just reminiscing about the good old days :) The ambience sounds add a lot as well, great idea to keep those alongside the music.
Thank you! Not just keep, but extract and edit for hours and hours! :D
Haha yea I imagine it's quite a lot of work. Thanks again for doing it, the results are lovely :)
One of the best VO of WOW.... so much good memories...
6:15 is where it really hits... Damn.
Sounds like I am AFK because my Dad called me to do something very important LOL! Brings me back to the good ol days..
A part of me is still in the barrens, miss those times so bad.
Damn.... those runs from Crossroads to Ratchet... Getting your groups ready for Wailing Caverns.
Summer 2019 cannot come quick enough. I'll see you at the Stolen Silver.
Nearly here brother
August 27th
And just like that it ended. Taken for granted there will always be another summer but none like before
Thank you for all of this great music Everness. You have made my life so much more bearable to endure.
This sooths me. Thanks
Best advert for classic HC ever
Just here to let you know how much these vids mean to me. (Including the skyrim ones..skyrim and WoW both have been the biggest parts of my childhood.)
Barrens specifically, I remember waking up around midnight with my neighbor down the street that often spent the night , just so we could mine around the barrens and fish for deviates in the ponds.. wed always have the blinds to the window behind us open because the moonlight offered a lot of visibility without having a light on to notify the parents.
Even though our paths are rarely crossing nowadays, hearthstone will forever stay in Barrens. :' )
This already makes me nostalgic of classic's launch
I left my heart in the Barrens. And my sanity in Barrens general chat.
This is the soundtrack of my early twenties...
Ah, nostalgia overflow :)
Thanks a lot to Everness for posting these videos and to Blizzard Entertainment for creating the game! 👍 👍
Oh the memories this brings :D Thank you so much Everness for posting these. I don't know how I would work through the day without being able to listen to these videos :D :D :D
The best soundtrack that's ever been made for a game. And I don't think that this fact will change. Ever
Whenever you go through the Brachland come back old memories high
Great music por a desert adventure, your videos are perfect for D&D sessions. Continue with the great job, hello from Brazil.
I really do appreciate these vids.
My first ever orc warrior on TBC, fighting pig dudes with a two handed sword, all equipment red, dying all the time, sitting after every kill to regen life, took what seemed like an eternity to go to 1000Needles... I miss those days.
Yes! A new video for my days of work! :D Thank you so much Everness, your videos are the best! I just want to go back playing WoW thanks to you.
That's how it started again for me.
>Hmm, what could I listen to today
>That theme was good, it's been a while, let's go
>Nostalgia Brick Wall charges.
>Nostalgia Brick Wall casts Hamstring on you.
>Nostalgia Brick Wall's Mortal Strike crits you for 99999999.
>You are dead.
See a pattern?
Thank you very much, I discovered your channel yesterday and what a discover !
You're truly great
