Most informative teacher ever. The world needs more smart people like you. Everything revolves around geography.

Thank for explaining. What I tell people that I am an aspiring stylist their first question is "When are you moving to New York?" as if that is the only option and I never felt like it was. This is a great way to explain/understand the options - and THANK YOU for not framing one choice as better than another! :)

Chicago is a great option. Department stores employ stylists if you’re in a smaller market. It’s a nice start and adds to your resume.

So I live in Minnesota near Minneapolis and I really enjoy the clothing industry, I enjoy putting together outfits and shopping and going crazy in developing outfits that reflect personal clothing tastes. I really don't care about styling big people and it's a very small chance I'll move to any city bigger then Minneapolis other then maybe California in the future. I don't have much experience but I do know I really enjoy it and would like to pursue it more and see how I land. What do you recommend to someone that lives in Minnesota and is only beginning to test the waters in styling

Because people can afford Personal stylists. They do not really know what to wear for whatever reasons. They want to be sure that they are doing the right choices. There are more and more personal stylists even hired by Big Malls. If you want to do it , you should :)
