  • this was a one off job, I usually turn them down, But wanted to see if I could make a bad garden look good.
    I'll leave that for you to decide.

    Grass left to get this high would've triggered an HOA violation in many cities here in the U.S., or at least funny looks by the neighbors. You arrived in the nick of time and saved the day, did this lady a solid! Great work, and loved the video!

      Just leave the cuttings if it’s not too thick. They fertilise the lawn.

      probably, but the stihl trim line works wonders, and when going against rocks debris and metal fencing, means I am not stop starting changing heads, I have tried all sorts of heads, ones with metal wire instead of cord, poly cut heads, blades, but find good strong trim line just can't be beat IMHO

    Hi mate what model is the Stihl trimmer and how long did the job take?
    Looks like an effective method to whipper then rake and mow.

      its the Kombi130 with strimmer head, took about 3 hrs including waste removal

    I've done some so bad that I have had to use a steel blade to tackle the brambles, stingers and mallow.....even found some grass!

      Have toy trued the oragon mulcher for thicker stuff like brambles, i have a video (game changer) that shows this blade off.

    What would you charge for a job like this???

      I really undercharged for this job, £60 is what I charged, The way I charge for jobs like this, is to work out what I would want if the grass was normal height and It was a regular job, then work out how many of those it had missed that year. +waste £100 min

    yes. you did a GREAT job. on the other hand, didn't you say this was a special job for a friend of your wife. as a female of the species myself, can't help but think...teach her to "fish." would love to have seen you showing her how/ having her do a bit of trimming herself. elsewise the situation repeats itself and by end of summer, yard overgrown again.

      This amount would have smothered the grass. Normal grass clippings from a regularly maintained yard are good.

    3 or 4 passes on mulch or side discharge and would of ground all that up with no need to bag or pickup, would of also kept the nutrients in the yard. What most pros do here.

      its different, a rid on would be way too big, side discharging would have blown grass in neighbours garden, mulching and mowing would be dangerous because of debris in the grass.
