The bluebirds @ 10:19 crack me up! Wonderful photographs all, thank you for sharing. I appreciate you shooting both full frame and APS-C as that's my intent with this lens: my "1.5x TC" will be my a6500. I've got this lens on pre-order and if the release date holds, I'll have it in less than a week. Hope you had a great trip.
Thank you for sharing your experiences. I am looking forward to the delivery of the ordered lens. Your pics are very lovely. Those beautiful birds are not in the wild here (Germany).
I wish that I had not watched this video... It's going to cost me a lot of money buying this lens. Great job on the video, despite how much it is going to cost me!
@@davidakoubian3025 thanks. It was worth a try 😂. I like Tamron as well it’s just that I really want the 600mm since I don’t have an apc camera. Thanks again. Happy shooting
@@JMKDragon I know what you mean. I shoot the a7Riii in crop mode with it and it does great. Smaller files very little buffering with the smaller files too.
How is the tracking of this lens for birds in flight? I plan on getting either this lens or the Sony 200-600 but this one would be better becuase of it´s size i.f it´s close to the Sony 200-600 in auto focus performance. I plan on using it with my A6400 ( currently have the sony 70-350g lens )
I have used it with an a6600 and the a9ii, and in both situations it tracks extremely well. I did some with blue skies and others with trees behind the bird, and it did very well. I found that with clear skies it locked on better and tracked with using the wide AF selection vs the single point. It could just have been me trying to locate the bird. I use the rear button focus as well, which seemed easier to me.
I have the A6600 + Sig. 100-400 DN and am quite happy with it but the extra 100mm would be nice but it's some 600gm heavier and the AF would have to be better, ie. faster and giving more action keepers.
Brilliant Video. Very Helpful and Informative. Great Photos. Many thanks for sharing. 🇬🇧
Thank you.
Great review and images!

Thanks! The lens has outperformed my wildest expectations here in Alaska!
Great shots David.
Thank you!
Nice video. I’m really considering this lens
Beautiful images
I am loving shooting with it!

Gorgeous images! Great for birds!!
Thanks, it really is! I will be putting it to the test in Alaska the next 2 weeks!

Thanks. It is worth every penny thpugh.
That so sharp lens. Thx for the review
Would you pick this over the new Sigma 150-600mm sport lens? Asking because I’m stuck. I like both and can’t choose 😂.
I've never shot the Sigma, so I can't say how it performs. They make some good stuff. I've always been a Tamron guy though.

Curious about your experience & opinion on the 70-350 ? Am considering it as a light & sharp telephoto lens.
@@raphofthehills4405 70-300? It is good and lightweight. Not as sharp or fast as the 150-500mm but a value for the money.
any chance a teleconverter will work with this?
is there recess space behind the bayonet for one to fit?
I haven't heard, but I don't get any information on future projects except when they are announced to the public.

I've never shot the Sigma, but the Tamron is super fast, and tracks great.
LOL...........David, your lens had a growth spurt at marker 5:09..........it became a 150 to 600mm. Wow what a deal.........;)
Oops! LOL. I'm so used to the 150-600mm.
Why do you stop the lense down to f8?
I find that the little extra depth of field works well, especially with the birds. Often they are 12 feet or less away from me.
I believe this Tamron Lens doesn't close to Gmaster 100-400mm for Image quality. How Tamron shorten focal length from 600mm to 500mm.
I would disagree, when did you shoot this lens to compare?
These images must have shot on a tripod based on the shutter speed used except one bird in flight. Did you have VC off or on when on tripod?
Some were hand held of the birds, most were on a monopod. Because I was testing I had VC on and off for different ones.
