It's great to see Mazzy is so interested in the old tools, contraptions, engines & machinery of farming, industry and every day life. Good on ya!

That was such a lovely place. I think I could have explored it all day. I am so glad you are doing these video's, as I enjoy them so much. It always surprises me to see what the museums have collected from day to day life so many years ago. You seem to do a good job of finding cool things and pointing them out. I'll bet even visitors to these museums don't notice half the things in them you do. Thanks a bunch. It was so cool!

I enjoyed this video even more than part 1. All of the personal items used by people and the farm equipment were simply amazing. Great job to you both.

They're threshing engines Dan. They separate the corn form the stalks and they were mostly powered by steam traction engines. It's these things being used on the farming fields that left behind the 'hot rocks' we all just love to find. Great video you two - it makes me smile to watch them in the mornings. :) Paul n Debbie

That big thing next to the ploughs in part one is a plough which is attached to two steam engines like the steam plough in the later clip one each side of the field, the steam engines then pull it across the field then the opposite one pulls it back working from one end to the other till the whole field is done

It is a thrash machine. It removes the oats from the thatch which is used for straw. It can be used for wheat too. When I was a young man we used these in Minnesota.

Equipment in question beginning at 6:42 in front is hay press or hay baler. The second wagon appears to be a hauler that would follow thresher to carry wheat.

mazzy's right, a thrasher is a machine, powered by a steam engine, used to separate the cereal from the straw, those hooks you saw were for hanging the sacks on for filling.
