- 💭 A 2022 FTR R Carbon showed up at my doorstep needing to be fixed. A friend unfortunately had a spill on his bike and the dealership wanted over $10,000 to fix it. Instead of replacing every little piece in the inspection report, he decided to fix whatever was needed to get his bike back on the street. That's where I come in and will help get his FTR back road worthy.

The damage on that FTR doesn’t seem to be as bad as your Chiefs. This is s prime example why insurance premiums are so high now.

From what I’m seeing so far, most of those parts can be reused. Rotate the muffler so that the dented part is inside. Loosen and retighten the front end to align it. If the forks drop right out out of the triples they’re fine. Any competent radiator shop can repair that radiator. A scuff on the frame totals out the bike because to repaint the frame means a complete disassemble and reassemble of the bike, so the insurance company just totals it. The main trouble is the safety inspection with the state. They have a copy of the insurance company claim and they want to see a receipt for any replaced part that it came from a legit supplier or a licensed salvage yard. No Craigslist or Facebook sourced parts from a private seller! At least in my state.

put the front up on a jack and rotate the front wheel should be able to see if there is a wobble or if the alignment is off

@@BrandonBicasso Yeah, sometimes you move around and we can't hear you, especially whe you turn your head away from the camera. I didn't think it was my place to say anything considering you've been doing this longer than I have. I never make a video without being miced up. One on me and one on the camera. I really hope $1,500 can cover the bike repairs, seems like it will be more than that, but who knows.
Just a heads up, Sony Stereo mics are a$$. I would go with the purple panda. Well, unless you're only editing in mono that is.
Yeah, I have a sennheiser in my helmets. I only use this one for intros or if I’ll be in the same shot for a good amount of time. It’s time consuming to stay mic’d up while I’m working because I’m moving the camera around creating multiple clips. Keeping them all synced wouldn’t be worth the reward.
@@BrandonBicasso I use Rode video Mics on camera, would love to buy the Sennheiser MKE 400, maybe later. Unfortunately good audio is important to the UA-cam video experience and to channel growth. You know better than anyone, you get what you put in. Just look a Peter McKinnon.
I'm thinking about doing the same but need to find a cost effective, build. Some of these insurance companies are taking advantage during these crazy times.
They are. I’m lucky to be able to balance it out with social media but one day the prices will come back down.

Dealers don't repair any thing, they just replace "riding it home with a big hole in the red not a good idea" the front forks could have twisted in the triple tree.

Considering it's available on '23 FTR, yes. It was retrofitted to one before '23. Uses the same connectors.

Fairly sure they use the same harness so should be a direct fit.

Hey Brandon....Just curious.. Do you think I could fit one of the larger Indian gas tanks would fit on my Bobber??
Not without modifying some things. Different mount points, fuel pump location. Where you put gas in your Scout is the location of the fuel pump on the baggers. Anything is possible with fabrication tho.
