I was a Chargers fan, and visited Juniors grave a few time. Another prominent person at Eternal Hills, is James O Page. He was instrumental in the development of the TV show "Emergency" His crypt is across the road from Junior's. I have also visited Karen Black's grave a couple times. Great vlog, Jeff.
Great episode. As a San Diego native and long time Chargers fan I was so sad to hear of Juniors' passing. I went and saw him play live at the stadium.....and I miss going and eating in his restaurant. I think the guitar on the tombstone is actually a ukalaylee.... as he was known to play from time to time. 👍
Wow, thanks for the insight on his musical abilities. He seemed like a really great guy who met a very unfortunate ending! I cried for his mother; now she has lost all three of her sons. So sad.
You know, the same thing happened to me. When I heard that song it reminded me of watching TV as a child. Also, when I hear the theme song to Love America Style I have good memories from that as well.
@@jbenziggy One of my current guilty pleasures is watching early 1970’s episodes of “Let’s Make A Deal” because I fondly remember watching them at my grandma’s house on Helen Avenue in Modesto in the early 1970’s. During these viewings (channel 13 Sacramento?), she would call the tv “the idiot box”!
Another great video Jeff and Sarah Karen Black was one of my favorite actors. Loved her "Trilogy of Terror ". She was great in 3 different roles. Loved the background on the various occupants in the cemetary. Professional as usual.
Lots of memories packed in this episode. It was difficult to stay focused after Junior Seau's portion. The images of his mom, and of course the deaths of 3 sons, so sad. May they all rest in peace and Junior be painfree. Thanks for the episode.
Yeah !! It's Sunday...with my hot cup of coffee and History Hunters !! Such a lovely cemetery there in Oceanside. Great content today and another awesome history lesson ! Thank you Jeff and Sarah !
Another great episode. Your brief biographies of actors give me the desire to watch vintage movie or shows that I'm not familiar with (such as Room 222).
Appreciate the detail and info offered in your video. I have a baby sister buried at Eternal Hills. She only lived a day back in 1962. Thank you, again.
My dad always listened to the Glenn Miller and his cousin is Ray Anthony. Ray Anthony’s father was always around our home when I grew up. Another great job you guys have done!
This was interesting. I have two aunts and an uncle buried there. I never knew the history on this cemetery but when I was there with family it was for the funerals and the last time was in 2007. I’m going to share this with my family, thanks for making this video.
I lived in Oceanside for a time in the 80s and recall seeing Junior Seau working at the Vons in Carlsbad. My Uncle and his wife, the honorable Harold and Ester Mayer are both interred there. He was a well known instructor at Miracosta College, and she was a highly respected piano teacher. They lived across El Camino Real in Henie Hills. Great Show Thanks.
Thank you Jeff & Sarah for another great episode. As a teenager at Briggsmore Theater watching Karen Black in control of that plane she became my hero. Lloyd Haines from Room 222 was a mellow actor always stayed cool and calm. His co star was Karen Valentine who used to frequent Modesto. Her relative is a Dentist. Dr. Valentine. His office is off Briggsmore either at Tully or College ( if hes still living) Yesterday I was watching & researching Hedy Lamaar. Her 5th husband lived in Turlock. Google it has address and house pic. She invented WiFi, Blue Tooth, GPS. ( in case you want an episode idea)
My daughter went to Dr. Valentine once. And yes I knew about Hedy’s short experience in Turlock. She didn’t choose husbands well or maybe she was the problem?
This was an interesting episode Jeff. I remember well Saturday mornings tuning in, Sgt. Preston and Yukon King. Thanks for sharing another wonderful and informative video. Stan
I grew up in Oceanside before Moving to Modesto with my family. My Mom grew up in the Modesto area. The view of the SB 5 Fwy brings back memories!! Thank you for remembering these people.
My first daughter is buried there right by the north end overlooking Oceanside Blvd. ... I would sit there for hours...never thought about famous people being laid to rest there...wow...close to home..we lived across El Camino Real inside El Camino County Club...1984 - 1996. Thank you. God Bless.
Thank you for the work you do. I live in Oceanside&I had no idea of these other "stars" buried here. I loved the charachter of "Pete" on Room 222. My brother went to Oceanside High School with Junior Seau&I played volleyball with his Sister Mary. I have to say the really were&are such sweet, happy, kind people. He was sooo good to our kids in the community. I do remember Karen Black&saw her grave highlighted on a Google map&that's how I found the work you do. Thanks again. Debbi Trimberger-Arrants
I still get very emotional when it comes to Junior Seau. He was my favorite San Diego Charger. I was fortunate enough to meet him once and he was so nice. RIP #55❤️⚡
Karen Black was one of my favorite celebrities. I'm in my fifties and didn't see Easy Rider until probably the 80s, and Five Easy Pieces until about ten years ago, but it immediately became one of my favorite classic movies. I loved her character, showcasing her incredible acting ability, and earning a much deserved award and recognition. I remember seeing her in some horror movie or show in which there was some little gremlin like creature that was under a sofa and attacked with it's razor sharp teeth, I was young and it was so frightening to me, that for a while I was afraid to let my feet dangle off the furniture!😬😄 She had great talent, thanks for including her in this video. I'm loving the channel!😃
Love the truck and the song. It's a beutiful truck! Thank you so much for keeping the cabovers alive. Awesome looking truck. I'd be proud to own it too.
Found your History Hunters series this week and have been watching many. I have always been interested in all kinds of history, especially going back to 1800’s America. I appreciate all the research you do. I will be making a donation. Stephen D.
That's pretty cool you are able to find a history of those people I grew up with in the 50s and 60s and here it is 20-22 man keep up the good work God bless
My grandparents lived in Encinitas and retired in Carlsbad in a mobile home park with 7 manmade lakes was owned by Charles Bronson. I visited in 1998 after grandpa passed at 86. Grandma passed at 94 in 2007. I lived in Encinitas a child before moving to the PNW. Travel is not easy at my age.
I loved "Room 222" & part of the reason was because I was in High School from 1971 thru 1974 when i graduated on May 29, 1974 from Morrow Senior High School, Morrow, Georgia. I remember Karen Black in "The Great Gatsby" & my English class got to see the film. Too bad about Bobby Driscoll. It seems that too many young people get hooked on drugs & alcohol & end up committing suicide or die from the abuse that goes with it many times. Jeff thank you for sharing as I doubt I will ever get to California to see them myself.
Thank you, Andrea! We really appreciate you viewing our channel and spending time with us! We will be as safe as we can out there. We appreciate your very sweet comment!
What a Beautiful Cemetery in Oceanside CA. I do remember Actress Karen Black & Actor Lloyd Haynes as Pete Dixon on Room 222. A Classy show. RIP in Peace to All 🙏 in God's Heaven Always.
Thank you for such a wonderful tour. Especially grateful for your specific, detailed homâge in remembrance of legendary Glenn Miller trombonist (and inventor/developer of the remarkable Electro-Theremin, of course) Paul Tanner (1917-2013). 'Moonlight Serenade' is an all-time favourite over 'ere in Blighty. It (as well as the entire repertôire of brilliant Glenn Miller musical hits) are still played frequently all 'round here, as many of us remain happily 'stuck-in-the-past' ...
WOW, this cemetery has quite a few, memorable people. Thank you so much, Jeff for all the research and the "legwork". I always find your videos so interesting and informative. Thanks, Sarah, too... 👏🌈👏
Thanks for mentioning Paul Tanner and that he was once a member of the great Glenn Miller Orchestra. The poem or epitaph on Tanner's monument, isn't the lyrics to the 1939 Glenn Miller - Mitchell Parish ballad, "Moonlight Serenade", but maybe, just a nice poem left as an in memoriam, by his second wife, Jeanette.
My grandpa is buried at Eternal Hills. He was a builder of St. Malo in Carlsbad the first private gated community in San Diego. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners and a self employed building contractor

I remember eating at Seau's in San Diego years ago.
It is lovely to see you so respectful to these people that have passed, thank you 🙏
Nice to see a memorial park kept up so nice. Helps to overcome the sadness of departed friends and relatives.
Some of these peeks into the past are painful and some are so interesting. We have a lot to learn. Thank you for all of your hard work!
Great episode.

RIP to The Stadium as well. 😭
Junior's death shocked everyone .he was always up beat and full of life ,he played for the Patriots too
Enjoyed the video!
The whimsical theme song to Room 222 brought back childhood memories. TV no longer makes shows like that. 😢 Thanks for including.

Yes the Seau story is extremely tragic and made me cry revisiting. When I see his mother's anguish I just about lose it.
@@jbenziggy it was sad if you have never read the book about that disease and the movie they were both good
I have the tv intro for Room 222. Lloyd Haynes was also in the first pilot for Star Trek. Loved Denise Nichols.

I second that emotion ☕️🐓

One of the greatest to play the game
Go Chargers
Exciting player, always gave 100%.
