An extremely sincere thank you for this one. Your videos showing the "big name" stars are great, but you have done such a service reminding us that behind the stars there were so many talented actors, performers, and musicians that aren't household names. You give these people the respect and dignity in death that they deserve.

I appreciate those highlighted on today’s tour, especially Mary Ford. She has a place in my life story. Her hit in 1954, “I Really Don’t Want to Know,” asked how many arms have held you, how many lips have kissed you. My mother told me she sang that song to my father as they were on their way to elope! 😂

This is a reminder that, for every big name actor, there are a whole number of people who were not big names who also starred in or supported the making of entertainment. This makes me think of everyone in general. Fame isn't everything and death is the great equalizer.

My grandma when she was 13 snuck into a Sally Rand show in the mid 30's, It was being held in the Brady Lake Electric Park just outside of Kent, OH. Rand's show was a big deal, and my grandma was not going to miss it. My grandma spoke about it like the most beautiful show she had ever seem.

Absolutely shameful that that cemetery was neglected because of the people buried there. Bravo to the gal that spearheaded the revival. My fave was Miss Mary Ann's grave. I had Romper stompers when small. I remember them as being yellow with green string.

I noticed that too over all his Uploads. People dying at 51 from heart attacks😳. But it was a different time. Everybody🚬 & drank to excess. And the stress of being an entertainer without all the “conveniences” or “luxuries” available to them today. So Sad 😢😞😢

Back in the late 40's and early 50's when the Globetrotters traveled around the county, going into small towns playing against the locals, my father was on one of those city teams and played against Boid Buie. My father has said of him, "He was simply incredible, watching him play, you would not even think that he had just one arm!"

Forest Lawn Covina Hills! Very familiar with it, as my grandparents are buried there. My grandfather was a veteran of WWII and could have had him and my grandmother buried at the National Cemetery in Riverside, but, they bought their plots there in Covina along with a lot of their neighbors and friends. Back in the day when going door-to-door selling cemetery plots was the fashion, along with going to town with onions on their belts.

I saw a documentary where a common grave in LA was being filled in the 2000s. It was awful. They open up the cremains boxes and containers and pour the ashes into the ground, all mixed together. Ashes fly everywhere, all over the coroners staff, the grass, everywhere. I thought maybe they buried the urns or boxes but no. Hundreds, thousands, of cremains all mixed together in a horrific plume of dust. I'll never forget it.

Forest Lawn Corvina, the younger sister is a really beautiful place!! Those Biblical mosaics were stunning! And so many legends and fascinating individuals are buried there….it surprises me how many names come back to me ! I was surprised to see Miss Mary Ann from Romper room!! I’m in the U.K. and they must have shared the show with the BBC as we had a Romper room show too, but with a Miss Rosalind! I can remember trying to hide from her magic mirror, when she looked through it and said “ I can see Peter, and Andrew! There’s Susan too!” But she never saw me! 🤭😉😉 Funny the things we used to believe as children. In those days the TVs had big tubes at their backs, which took a little while to cool down. When the tv was switched off there would be a small white dot left on the middle which gradually got smaller and smaller…in my childish wisdom I used to get my eye up close, believing I could still see the people in the tv set!!…..of course I never did!
Sally Rand was very daring and looked very beautiful with the fans….not so sure the large bubble did much for me….anyone else like it? At least she was very game, continuing to do into her 60’s!! Thankyou again Arthur…this was fascinating,as always! Best wishes from the U.K.! 🙋‍♀️😘👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥰

I must confess, my knowledge of old Hollywood is severely lacking.😞I have heard of Sally Rand from , of all places, American Pickers. They got into her house and thè bought her ostrich feather fans. They gave her history of burlesque. I really c ame to appreciate hèr talents. Thank you Arthur for having usalong. Most fascinating tour!

I really enjoyed this video. I often wondered what happened to some of them. I remember when I was a child and watched Miss Sally from Romper Room.

The narrator has a most soothing and relaxed manner. Could listen to his voice for hours.

I love when you do stories on lesser supporting people. And musicians. And I too drop what I am doing to watch these. You do such a fantastic job.

Thank You Arthur! As I am the granddaughter of a stone cutter and owner/operator of Grand rapids Monument Co. I have always roamed and picnicked ( respectfully of course ) in graveyards since I was 6. These shown today are magnificent destinations. I discovered your channel about a year ago and quickly subscribed. You never cease to amaze me. I'm grateful to know that there are more like me out there. Who truly appreciate the beauty and majesty of a final resting spot. 😊 P.S. can't wait to leave a token of my esteem to the Snyder's, as a double-double grilled and raw is my fave! 😜

I love that, since the very beginning of HG, you have featured "lesser known" actors and other artists! They deserve to be remembered as well as the big names. Another spectacular video, Mr. Dark! (Love the longer hair, too!)

I found your site a couple of weeks ago. I have binge watched each episode starting with your first posted episode. I had no idea how addictive it would be. I have enjoyed every one, even those that scared me a little.
