I have been hesitant of purchasing the MST intake.... I am curious, since you have the MST installed... Where does the driver side circuit hood vent drip into? looking at the intake and my CE hood, it looks like the intake "housing" sits underneath the driver side vent. I love the sound you get from the MST intake, but I would be worried about driving in the rain, if indeed the vent lets the water drain into into intake "housing". have you had any rain since the install? aka do you know if the vent does drip water into the open housing? super curious! looking forward to your response! thanks!
Thanks for watching! The filter does sit somewhat under the vent. But if you were to keep the protectors on the vents i don't see any Major issues happening. With it being vents overall, there will inevitably be some water dripping onto the filter itself.
Do you know if this would negatively effect smog checks? In California just installing this is illegal. Would be nice if I don't need to switch back every time I have to get this smog checked which I hear is ever 2 years now... I really want to install this.
I am not sure if this would pass smog in California or not. Would be best to message MST directly to see if they could give you more insight on that matter.
CA sucks for upgrades. I think they chopped almost everything recently. Previously is just needed the carb exempt/approved number on the product. Good luck.
Bro the eventuri is like 3x the price lmao. Probably a little better but tbh this looks cooler in the engine bay and for price to performance this wins imo.
If u go to mst website...they say its fixed with a coupler .. i just seen u comment of someone elses video about ur up dated part did nothing..how long do you drive before cel?
Yes the updated coupler is what they sent me. It's pretty random when it came on. Sometimes 100 miles. Some times 10 miles. Sometimes it took almost 400 miles to come back on. But it still popped back up even after installing their fix. Now they have said I seem to be the only one who is still having the issue even after the fix. Not sure how true that is.
I installed it , a little weird on the brackets for the intake box ! Did yours fit weird on the left bracket the one closest to the motor .? My mounting point was lifted and did not want to sit flush to bolt it to the oem mounting point .
Possible. But your best bet might be to just contact MST directly to see if they have any better insights or possible if they could send you a replacement
You did NOT gain 16 HP (numerous Dyno tests have been done) Most likely, there was NO HP gain (or just 2-3 HP) ... What you gained is sound/noise that gives you impression of additional power
The "flap" on the stock air box isn't to pull in more air by its opening, it's to release the increase pressure, as hot air is denser, the opening forces the hotter air out, by the fan from the radiator, and the cold air inlet, at the top would then get am increase of more sir by negative pressure, 5hus forcing the hotter sir out (down)

Congratulations you are this week's winner. DM on IG on where you want your sticker sent.
Finally someone that did a Detailed install video and didn't just skip around.
I'm glad the video was helpful!
@@antdo You are the only one who has show sexactly what you need to do with the Sensor after you unplug it.
Doesn't this void your warranty? I have to admit it sounds really good though.
For it to void the warranty Toyota has to prove that it was the cause of whatever the issue was.
Sounds really good! But I hear a lot of people are thorwing CELs. Have you yet?
I haven't thrown a CEL for this intake yet. But I also dont' drive it a lot. I will do a long term review in a month or so.
The blow off sound🥹
Sounds great, only thing I’d recommend is a pre filter, normally for water protection but also keeps your filter way cleaner 👍
Thanks for the tip!
Wish you can AIT bench MST vs Stock
Dope. I preordered mine from speed industry a while back when it was available. Just waiting for it to show up now.
Any update on CEL code? Saw you said they were sending you a fix just wondering if it helped.
Still testing the product. I've been out of town for the holidays. So I haven't had much time to drive the car.

Does your car throwing any code after install MST air intake system?
Yes it currently throws a CEL. But they are sending me a fix that should be here next week
Interesting how the filter design differs from the one they sell for the GR Yaris. I wonder why.
MST Intake!! love the sound!
It sounds so much better in person!

MST-INTAKE. Sounds amazing, I might have to go that route vs the baller $1700 Eventuri intake...
I love the way the eventuri looks. But no way in hell I'd pay $1700 for an intake 😅
@@antdo can I get non-carbon one for half the price?
Any update on rain getting on the filter from the top hood vent ?
Rain got on it a bit. But nothing Major really came from in
Sounds great! I don't know about 16whp though.
Sounds even better in person!

Mine throws a CEL. Does yours?
No does not yet.

🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
What made you go with MST over eventuri?
Bro the eventuri is like 3x the price lmao. Probably a little better but tbh this looks cooler in the engine bay and for price to performance this wins imo.
Price was definitely a huge factor 😅
I saw that there’s an HKS intake now for the GRC. I wonder how that is
Mst intake
Nice vid man really appreciate the in depth install
where did you get your intake? I cant find the mst one anywhere? I really just want it for the sound and its the loudest one ive seen so far.
I believe Speed Industry Might still have some in stock
What is the color of your car called
You are going to need a tune for this!
Yeah I'm throwing cel
Just wondering if you've had any CEL issues?
Yes I am currently having the CEL Issue. Working with others right now to figure it out. I'm working on an update video for next week.

@@antdo thanks for ur reply brother...I appreciate you
@@antdothey sent me one with the coupler and I got a CEL in about 10 miles. It’s not just you.
I knew I couldn't have been the only one getting the CEL still if this was truly a fix.
@@antdo I’m thinking about removing mines. My car feels noticeably slower up top
Are you throwing a CEL like everyone else with an intake?
Currently yes. I am throwing a code. Trying to work with others now on figuring out why. It seems some people get it. And some don't.
So I'm seeing the GR Yaris on the link when I click it but not seeing anything that's listed as being for the GR Corolla. Any ideas on that?
They may not have made it live on their webstite yet. But I believe Speed Industry has them in stock.
@@antdo Thanks for the tip. Wonder how bad it heat soaks compared to the other enclosed units.

Yeah my left bracket wasn't lined up 100% but nothing I couldn't just stick the bolt though to bolt it down
@@antdo didn’t it make the case like push down weird ? When you bolted it down all the way?
@@TheBadish21 Mine might not have been as off as yours is. Mine its fine for me.
@@antdo yea it’s weird was a pretty good gap. Also mine don’t have the mst logo like yours you think that can be a factor ?

I love the aftermarket filters but sucking in hot air sucks lol
You do know it's already been proven the factory intake sucks in more hot air than this one right 🤦♂️
@@jasond91 with a little modification it'll work. I've done it when I had my supra. Most road racing guys runs stock box with aluminum pipe
is water/rain gonna be an issue since the air filter is (kinda) exposed
