ABBA...........Agnetha (the blonde)... Bjorn (guitar/ vocals)... Benny (keyboards/ piano)... Anni-Frid (the brunette) At the time, ABBA was 2 couples: Agnetha & Bjorn were married... Bjorn and Benny both remarried... they worked together behind the scenes in music after ABBA. Agnetha (the blonde) tried to start a solo career but became a recluse after ABBA, living quietly in Sweden - she never remarried. One of her boyfriends turned out to be an obsessed stalker and had to be deported to the Netherlands repeatedly. Anni-Frid 'Frida' (the brunette) also tried a solo career but quit the music business... She married a third time (Benny was her 2nd husband) in 1992 but her husband died in 1999... She has been in a relationship since 2007 and lives quietly in Switzerland. ABBA recorded and released their final album 'Voyage' in 2021... 40 years after their last studio album 'The Visitors' in 1981. The 4 members were in their 70's and decided to finish on a positive note w/ ABBA because breakup in the 80's was very difficult for the former couples.
Frida had a minor hit as a solo artist with "I know there is Something Going On" fun fact about that song. the person who played drums on that track was none other then Phill Collins.
I feel like ABBA gets overlooked when i come to talking about the greats and icons. They are still relevant and their music aged well. They deserve more credits for their incredible hits.

Greatest Pop Group Ever. Sweden's gift to the world. Pure song writing genius and talent. Frida (red head) and Agnetha (blonde) are amazing! They were 2 married couples. Frida and Benny (Piano) and Agnetha and Bjorn (guitar) - but later divorced and disbanded.
Yes, they were 2 married couples. A lot of their songs were about their relationships, especially towards the end of them being a group. They were one of the most successful Disco acts of the 70s -80s. In Sweden, they were a rock band. Their fame in Sweden happened so fast that they came to the States to escape it. Their sound, however, caught on so fast that they gained even more fame here, adding to the relationships, causing them to part ways both personally and professionally. Their final song Thank You For The Music was a tribute to all their fans worldwide.
They recorded a song, ‘winner takes it all’; written by Bjorn about the divorce with Agnetha… she sang the lead. Professional through it all, and heart wrenching when you know the backstory.
Basically every ABBA song is upbeat, but not all lyrics are happy. In this song, it was when they got together, but they also have songs about when they broke up. They are one of the best selling bands in history, in the same league as the Beatles. The harmonies mostly come from the pianist, Benny, but all had their part. The ladies matching voices tops it all. ABBA was brushed away for many years, but do have a revival now - their songs are kind of timeless.
@@nedludd7622 True, but I have never heard a song from them that is really sad - except for the lyrics, that sometimes are much deeper than you´d expect from a "disco band". It is very intriguing how they kept on writing music even when they split.
Do "The Winner Takes It All". Bjorn wrote it while he was in the middle of his divorce from Agnetha. The amount of pain they had to set aside to make that song work is really something.
Abba's production values were so advanced for the time and the mixing set them at the top of the tree for a reason. Agnetha was my first crush, I was 11!
All I remember about ABBA is they're a Swedish band and their name comes from the first name of each of the band members. Agnetha, Benny, Bjorn, and Annie I think. Definitely this and Dancing Queen have stood the test of time since we're still boppin' along to them half a century later!! ☮💜🎶 Edit: And my wife and daughters started playing their music again after the Meryl Streep movie a few years back... Mamma Mia 2.
After 40 years apart, Abba came together to put out a new album in 2021. You should listen to Don't Shut Me Down from that album. They sound just as great now as they did then. They will never tour again, however. They've opted for doing a show that plays constantly in London that uses digital avatars to perform all their hits. The group got together and, using motion capture technology, performed the old songs again. So when you see the avatars moving, it's actually their movements.
They were married to the guys, but just like Fleetwood Mac after a while they both broke up and were getting divorced and had some good music because of it, but stayed together because they were so popular and still friendly with each other!
Yes, they were couples. The later song "Winner Takes It All" was about the split of one of the couples. The ginger, Anni-Frid aka Frieda had a great hit "I Know There's Something Going On". They released a new album in 2021, it was good!
*Frieda* had a hit single for her solo career with _I Know There's Something Going On_ and the drummer for the track is a prolific one in the music industry. His signature sound is unmistakable. It is a fantastic song for a reaction.
Anni Frid ((Frida) made a song in the 80’s, I know there’s something going on and it was HUGE and it was awesome. Really showed her range. You should give it a listen.
ABBA some of the best music you could find. They were so awesome... and so many songs I still love... Knowing Me Knowing You probably one of my favorites... Fernando...
You should check Anni-Frid Lyngstad's solo album with the song I know Somethings Going On. Before recording the album she was looking for a drummer to play on the tracks and her daughter said "Why don't you get Phil Collins?" She thought about, called him up and he said yes and helped produced the album.

@Black Pegasus, most of ABBA's hits were in the 70s and 80s. They're all now in their mid to late 70s. So it may surprise you to know that they are still going, virtually. ABBA....quite a rabbit hole. They were perfectionists in the studio and had a ton of hits. "Dancing Queen" is one you've probably heard somewhere. Some especially beautiful/touching ones are "Fernando," "Move On," "I Have a Dream," "Chiquitita." You can't go wrong with any of those. Bjorn (the guy in the white) was jogging one day and heard his feet going "Chika-CHIK, Chika-CHIK, Chika-CHIK." That's the rhythm that inspired him to write this song, "Take a Chance on Me." They were very creative people.
I am and always will be a huge Abba fan. They are amongst the greatest bands ever. I love their beautiful songs. The Visitors is one of my favourite albums ever.
I appreciate your open mind and heart and the willingness to listen to other genres. I realize I'm new to this Channel and you have been doing this for a while. We didn't date them. We had explained they were our friends and we wouldn't date them. That would screw up all the good stuff we got going. Every one of them were hot friendly and beautiful.
ABBA isn't just disco (although the disco tracks are amazing). If you want something that will rip your heart out as a parent, listen to their song 'Slipping Through My Fingers." My youngest just left for college, and I listened to that again and it still packs a punch.
FYI, Anni-Frid Lyngstad the red head, had a 1980's solo hit song called "I Know There's Something Going On", I still love listening to the tune today, 42 years later.
So nice to see you reaction to ABBA songs. (I think is the first time) "Take a chance on me" (1978) is one of their best ABBA hits in all the world, the most selling song of ABBA in U.S. (more than Dancing Queen), #3 in Billboard U.S. one of their four Top10 in US : #6 Waterloo (1974) #1 Dancing Queen (1977) #3 Take a chance on me (1978) #8 The winner takes it all (1981) This is one of few song than the vocals are more extensive than the music (They begin 'a capela' and singing at the end) the blonde singer Agnetha is the lead vocal in the solo verses, her voice is so powerful, in perfect armonies and chorus with the brunette Anni Frid in co-leads vocal (and the boys in back voices singing repetitive the frase 'take a chance, chance') Agnetha & Anni Frid have fantastic voices and harmonies together Agnetha is soprano Anni Frid is mezzo soprano and together made a 'third voice' the guitarist Björn got the idea while jogging, by the sound of the footsteps he interpreted t-k-t t-kt and adapted it to "take a chance, chance, take a chance", so the song was born Although it is a disco europop, it's like a constant and happy march, captivating, cloying, addictive if I could give You a suggestion for next reaction, take a review of all "ABBA The Álbum" (release at the same time with "ABBA The Movie" in 1977), is a Masterpiece of versatility in each song, but specialy the hymn "Thank you for the music" or the winner song of the classic Eurovisión Song Contest at UK 1974: "Waterloo" the live perfomanece of ABBA is icónic, you can find it in Waterloo at Eurovisión (first perfomance) ABBA have more than 20 worldwide hits included 9 singles #1 in UK charts: Waterloo Mamma Mia Fernando Dancing Queen Knowing me knowing you The name of the game Take a chance on me The winner takes it all Super trouper and more bangers like S.O.S. They broke up as a band in the early 80's, then 40 years later they got back together and released a new album. The song "I still have faith in you" is a ballad/anthem to their musical journey. It is a stunning picture and movie historical montage of their careers. You should react that video. That video also contains the song being song but their ABBAtars. The digital manifestations of the group.
ABBA, never failed to create upbeat, catchy songs. The Winner Takes It All, Dancing Queen, Chiquitita, Waterloo (which they won the Eurovision Song Contest with), Mamma Mia, and so many more.
Yes, they were two married couples, and while their marriages lasted, many songs had this upbeat not just tempo, but also the spirit. However, later they split, and if you listen to ABBA's later songs, the motif of separation and broken love is also present in their songs.
This isnt in your wheelhouse This band has had their fans waiting since 1982 until 2016 for them to get back togethe and there millions upon millions of them.. And yes those guys were their significent others.
ABBA: Anni-frid, Benny, Björn, and Agnetha. The name was taken from the first letters of their names. It's also a fish company in Sweden which caused a bit of a problem initially. The guitarist and the blond were married for a while and have two kids. The other two were an item and eventually married after many years. They are all divorced now and are in their 70's. ABBA isn't just disco (although the disco tracks are amazing). If you want something that will rip your heart out as a parent, listen to their song 'Slipping Through My Fingers." My youngest just left for college, and I listened to that again and it still packs a punch.
FYI, Anni-Frid Lyngstad the red head, had a 1980's solo hit song called "I Know There's Something Going On",
I still love listening to the tune today, 42 years later.
So nice to see you reaction to ABBA songs.
(I think is the first time)
"Take a chance on me" (1978)
is one of their best ABBA hits in all the world,
the most selling song of ABBA in U.S. (more than Dancing Queen),
#3 in Billboard U.S.
one of their four Top10 in US :
#6 Waterloo (1974)
#1 Dancing Queen (1977)
#3 Take a chance on me (1978)
#8 The winner takes it all (1981)
This is one of few song than the vocals are more extensive than the music
(They begin 'a capela' and singing at the end)
the blonde singer Agnetha is the lead vocal in the solo verses, her voice is so powerful,
in perfect armonies and chorus with the brunette Anni Frid in co-leads vocal
(and the boys in back voices singing repetitive the frase 'take a chance, chance')
Agnetha & Anni Frid have fantastic voices and harmonies together
Agnetha is soprano
Anni Frid is mezzo soprano
and together made a 'third voice'
the guitarist Björn got the idea while jogging,
by the sound of the footsteps he interpreted t-k-t t-kt and adapted it to
"take a chance, chance, take a chance",
so the song was born
Although it is a disco europop, it's like a constant and happy march, captivating, cloying, addictive
if I could give You a suggestion for next reaction, take a review of all "ABBA The Álbum"
(release at the same time with "ABBA The Movie" in 1977),
is a Masterpiece of versatility in each song,
but specialy the hymn
"Thank you for the music"
or the winner song of the classic
Eurovisión Song Contest at UK 1974: "Waterloo"
the live perfomanece of ABBA is icónic,
you can find it in
Waterloo at Eurovisión (first perfomance)
ABBA have more than 20 worldwide hits
included 9 singles #1 in UK charts:
Waterloo
Mamma Mia
Fernando
Dancing Queen
Knowing me knowing you
The name of the game
Take a chance on me
The winner takes it all
Super trouper
and more bangers like
S.O.S.
Money money money
Chiquitita
I wish you a greatest week

So amazing when you consider how many hits and that English was a second language.
Agnetha (the blonde and one of the A’s in ABBA) married band mate Bjorn (one of the B’s in ABBA). Ani-Frid (the redhead/brunette and the other A in ABBA) married band mate Benny (the other B in ABBA). Neither marriages lasted.
Love ABBA. Always have.
I’m 78, and I have my ABBA CD in my car right now!!! It’s sing along time now!!!
You have to watch Erasure's cover of this, the video. HAVE TO.
Thank you and please check out their vast catalogue and react to it❤❤❤❤❤
Yes sir Our ABBA!Our childhood's soundtrack.
Agnetha has a softer face while Anni Frid has a striking face. They're both gorgeous and I refuse to choose one over the other.
It's like trying to choose between vanilla and chocolate ice-cream.You just need them both.
@@christianoazzuro6711 spot on
Frida is a classic beauty. Agnetha is pretty.
I was young, but i always have loved their music. Disco yes, unfortunately we lost some good bands when disco left.
ABBA, never failed to create upbeat, catchy songs. The Winner Takes It All, Dancing Queen, Chiquitita, Waterloo (which they won the Eurovision Song Contest with), Mamma Mia, and so many more.
Oh, Agnetha, for sure! Her voice is angelic. I've followed her solo career post-ABBA. Simple love songs.
Does Your Mother Know... My fave from Abba
Abba are amazing and they were my parents fav band. I went through 2 Abba phases growing up. Abba was all Disco and still cooks the dance floor
You dear sir are watching a part of history. The band ABBA was the first to release music on a CD.
And, sorry Agatha, it is and always was Anni-Frid.
Agnetha Fältskog
Yes, they were two married couples, and while their marriages lasted, many songs had this upbeat not just tempo, but also the spirit. However, later they split, and if you listen to ABBA's later songs, the motif of separation and broken love is also present in their songs.
This isnt in your wheelhouse This band has had their fans waiting since 1982 until 2016 for them to get back togethe and there millions upon millions of them..
And yes those guys were their significent others.
Knowing Me, Knowing You -- absolute must listen.
My second combat tour, I would listen to ABBA after missions every night to calm my nerves. They were unstoppable in my day. ❤❤❤
They put out a new collection about two years ago (Voyage) and created Avatars to perform a concert in London.
Abba was good, they were very popular in the 70's, we were blessed and spoiled with great music.
There music is so good even today...Benny And björn continued make music for people and made a new performance a couple years ago.
My second favorite ABBA song!
100% disco. Incredible band.
