Thank you so much for reacting to Abba. For me this is one of the best Bands of all times. They managed to touch the soul of people so many times with their music, over decades, they deserve to be reviewed. Not to mention their last Album, released after 40 years, and the great show in London. Abba was not always ahead of their time, but they influenced other musicians over the decades so often. Younger people, not knowing them do not recognize it, but us older ones (me being 55) do.
The wonderful thing about growing up in the 70s was that even the music we didn't particularly like was fantastic. ABBA are without doubt the greatest pop group of all time. There's no point bringing anybody else into the equation. Even us metalheads adore this band. It's perfect.

Benny & Bjorn (pronounced Be-yorn) were the two songwriting geniuses who created all ABBA's wonderful melodies and harmonies and made them one of the greatest pop bands in the history of music. I've loved their music ever since ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest with their first hit 'Dancing Queen' and introduced themselves to the world back in 1974. God bless all four of them for ever, their musical contributions will live in our hearts always. 🙋♂ 🙋♂ 🙋♂ 🙋♂
Hello from Sweden. Really like your reactions. Fun fact: One of the members in ABBA, Björn, said that the beat in this song "came to him" when he was out jogging on the island of Lidingö, Stockholm. When he was running, his steps on the wet ground sounded like _"take a chance, take a chance..._ Björn said that he wanted to emphasize this beat in the beginning of the song: 2:06

As a musician... I have one thing to say...ABBA ROCKS!! Call it a guilty pleasure if you will , and I won't..🤣 Does Your Mother Know That You're Out would be my next suggestion to you. It's a rocker... I played it with a few bands in it always fills up the Dance Floor🍻🇨🇦

FYI, Anni-Frid (red head) married a honest to God Prince much later after ABBAs, break up. His name was Prince Heinrich Russo Reuss of the house of Reuss. Heinrich later died from cancer and because "Frida" never re-married she still carries the Royal title of ; Princes Anne-Frid Reuss, Countess of Plauen which is a very small country around Germany. (I think!). Fridas' net worth is $350 million which dwarfs her other three band mates.

At the stalking trial in 2000, Faltskog said: “His courting of me was very intense and went on for a very long time. In the end I couldn't resist him anymore !
There’s a live performance of them doing their two songs “Does Your Mother Know” and “Hole In Your Soul” back-to-back and it’s really good! Probably their best live performance.
They're such talented and very hardworking especially in the studio. The boys in ABBA benny and bjorn are perfectionist they try different styles and genres in every song they make
Love this song. Also their videos, low budget and I think they always shot them in one day, it's impressive how fun they are. Does Your Mother Know/Hole In Your Sole, Summer Night City and The Way OId Friends Do from their live concert at Wembley are all amazing, think you'd like them.
DJ:ing and when you have mixed crowds in the leased clubs, some hardcore hip-hoppers, others crave house or techno, then you can always play Abba and the dance floor fills up.. like flies on a jam sandwich. It's funny how it works, breaking all barriers. People just want to dance.
I will say, I was never embarrassed to be an ABBA fan. They were especially big in Mexico (and Latin America) because they sang some of their hits in Spanish. Huge for an international group to do that! Then and now!
The guy that made these videos for ABBA in the beginning and also ABBA the movie was Lasse Hallström, then Hollywood took over and he directed some really big movies there.
Great reaction, Abba are just impossible to dislike. Great song writing. So many catchy melodies and choruses. I saw a documentary on them once and people from bands of the time, even punk bands were saying how great they were.

Live Version: Dancing Queen from 1977, it’s even better than the version from 1979. Studio recordings: The Day Before You Came is a must, it’s so different. And Knowing Me, Knowing You or One Man One Woman.
Knowing Me Knowing You is my favorite ABBA tune. I’ve been to every hair metal band concert in the 80’s yet even I couldn’t dislike this band. BTW the blonde had a fabulous butt. Was the main star when touring in Australia.
ABBA is a very unusual group with the great creative duo of Benny and Björn, and two world class lead vocalists, Agnetha and Anni-Frid (Frida), switching off and singing harmonies. It might be interesting to react to some of the songs where Frida is singing lead, like "Fernando" and "I Have a Dream" There are live versions of "Thank You for the Music" (where Agnetha sings lead) and "I Have a Dream" (where Frida does) on UA-cam. Their first international hit was WATERLOO, from their second album. They won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with WATERLOO ... I still have the 45.
ABBA was the biggest band ever at one point in time... They offered them many years later after they had already broken up and stopped singing years ago.. One Billion dollars to do one more concert and they refused.
Having experienced this song when it was first released, I had, for the longest time, misheard the line "honey, I'm still free" as "olly-oxen-free"... yeah, I know.
Now you need to listen to the following by ABBA: Dancing Queen Mama Mia Honey Honey Waterloo Does Your Mother Know SOS Fernando Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie Lay All Your Love on Me Super Trouper Money Money Money One of Us Ring Ring Knowing Me, Knowing You Angel eyes Our Last Summer Just listen to them all you won’t be disappointed!

Great reaction. They have many songs with a wide variety of styles which only proves how versatile they are (they recently released an album after being away for 40 years). Some live versions I really love from them: - ‘Hole in Your Soul’ in Wembley - ‘Me and I’ from the Dick Cavett show - ‘S.O.S.’ in Japan
The BIGGEST hits for them were Dancing Queen, Knowing Me, Knowing You, Mamma Mia, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight), Does Your Mother Know, S.O.S., Fernando, The Name of the Game.
ABBA came to prominence when they won Sweden's first-ever Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with the song "Waterloo." In almost every Western European Country's Chart of the most popular songs, it peaked at #1 (Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland & West Germany) and became their first ever hit on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, peaking at #6. Here in the US, they had one more top 40 hit in 1974 ("Honey, Honey" peaking at #27). 1975 gave them four more top 20 hits ("I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do" & "SOS" both reached #15; "Mamma Mia" would peak at #32 and "Fernando" would almost make it into the top 10, reaching #13). 1976 would give ABBA it's only #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart with "Dancing Queen." There were two more top 40 hits for them in 1977 and this song you just heard would be the second biggest hitting, peaking at #3 in 1978. Though 10 more songs would make onto the Hot 100 chart from 1979 to 1982, they would only have their fourth and final US top 10 hit with the song "The Winner Takes It All," which a lot of people thought the Bjorn had partially written about his real life divorce from Agnetha, though he has always denied it. Honestly, the only song from them I actually liked was the very first 45 record that paternal grandmother played for me as a 3 year old child ("I Do ...") and she would make me dance with her, so it held very fond memories!
Lots of nostalgia and radio love from the seventies. I turned out a metalhead by 1986, but have learned that the song crafting here is beyond compare. ABBA rocks
Jane H commenting …. I loved ABBA. Everyone was dancing to their songs, & most of their songs were big Hits. They did a big concert in London, which was sold out. I was living in the Middle East for part of the 70s, & the Arabs loved them, & I saw their concerts quite a bit on TV when I was there.
Bjorn and Benny were very smart when they first formed the band when they decided to put the girls in the forefront... The girls were already well known in Sweden as solo artists and very popular...Bjorn and Benny sang with the girls when it made sense to do so...They were the song writers, the musical engineers and editors of their music and the girls shined as lead singers... They are my favorite musical group even to this day and I am 68 yrs old... Great reaction guys... Keep being awesome !!!...
For a good live version listen to Voulze Voue which will get you moving on your seat. Another is Does Your Mother Know and of course Dancing Queen. Two others you'd like are The Name of the Game and Knowing Me Knowing You. So many more it will take months to go through them all. Enjoy.
I was an ABBA fan the first time I heard and saw them in the Eurovision song contest in Brighton, England in 1974 with the song Waterloo. They were representing there country Sweden and they won it with a landslide vote. I was 10 years old and had a crush on the Blonde singer Agnetha, she was just beautiful and her eyes were amazing. I remember having posters on the wall of the group and a large one of Agnetha, I was a member of there official fan club and saw there film about 10 times at the cinema. When they split up I grew out of their music and became a fan of Status Quo and my other band that I had followed from an early age Queen. I still love Queen but with the late Freddie Mercury and I have been a fan of Sabaton for many years who for me are the greatest band in the world, followed by Nightwish. I do like Rammstein plus Alestorm who are a Scottish Pirate Metal Band. 💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🏴💙💛🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
I would love to hear your reaction to ABBA - Don't Shut Me Down. Ths song came out 2021, 40 years after their last studio album. That was a huge sensation hear new music after that long time. I love the lyrics because in my opinion they include some references to the situation of ABBA and Agnetha (she lives withdrawn from the public).
Lyrics are also a love letter messaged to us ffans testing the waters on their 2nd coming which was finally proved to have a tearful, triumphant response.
There's a great live version of Does Your Mother Know here on UA-cam. They always brought killer musicians on tour and sounded as great as the recordings.
Thx , For the best live performances, I allow myself to advise you "hole in your soul" (rock), "Summer night city" (disco) and the beautiful ballad "slipping through my fingers"😊
This classic has also a live performance from Wemnley and is a fave rock number one for fans but always goes together as a dual package with "Hole in your soul' in transition same way it was performed.
@@barsandbarbells2022a must see but you have to do the double with Hole In Your Soul. The transition is amazing and both have to be some of their best live vocals. I have been a fan since I was 13 and my love for them has never waivered, I am 61 now.
Just so you guys understand how big ABBA truly were. They are the second best selling group of all time! Only second to The Beatles. They had more than 400 million records sold. If you include solo artists they are like number five of all time. Number one beeing Elvis of course. But the thing is, almost all their songs were a hit! They were a big hit machine. It's almost hard to find a single bad song that they did. Therefore you should keep reacting to them, they have many good songs. /Sending some love from a real swede!

So nice to see you return to reaction more ABBA songs
"Take a chance on me" (1978)
is one of their best ABBA hits in all the world,
the most selling song of ABBA in U.S. (more than Dancing Queen),
#3 in Billboard U.S.
one of their four Top10 in US :
#6 Waterloo (1974)
#1 Dancing Queen (1977)
#3 Take a chance on me (1978)
#8 The winner takes it all (1981)
This is one of few song than the vocals are more extensive than the music
(They begin 'a capela' and singing at the end)
the blonde singer Agnetha is the lead vocal in the solo verses, her voice is so powerful,
in perfect armonies and chorus with the brunette Anni Frid in co-leads vocal
(and the boys in back voices singing repetitive the frase 'take a chance, chance')
Agnetha & Anni Frid have fantastic voices and harmonies together
Agnetha is soprano
Anni Frid is mezzo soprano
and together made a 'third voice'
the guitarist Björn got the idea while jogging,
by the sound of the footsteps he interpreted t-k-t t-kt and adapted it to
"take a chance, chance, take a chance",
so the song was born
Although it is a disco europop, it's like a constant and happy march, captivating, cloying, addictive

The BIGGEST hits for them were Dancing Queen, Knowing Me, Knowing You, Mamma Mia, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight), Does Your Mother Know, S.O.S., Fernando, The Name of the Game.
WOW!
ABBA dont shut me down....2021!!!!!!
3:06 Agnetha was always the one with a crazy vocal range and Anni-Frid had more bass, that's why they had such good harmony.
Salt and Pepper. The best balance for a tasty life.
Agnetha had the HIGHER vocal range, Frida had the WIDER vocal range
I think the man behind the famous ABBA sound is Michael B. Tretow, master of sound mixing
Que canción tan espectacular, al escucharla dan ganas de bailar, brincar, saltar, gritar de felicidad. ABBA el cielo del pop!
My dad played bluegrass/country in our home. The movie Mama Mia introduced me to Abba. I love it.
Lots of nostalgia and radio love from the seventies. I turned out a metalhead by 1986, but have learned that the song crafting here is beyond compare.
ABBA rocks
And don't forget music videos like this weren't even done by other bands back then. ABBA in a big way showed the 80's bands how to pull it all off.
1976 Concert/Is he your Brother! It’s an experience and the range of vocals is amazing!
you two makes such a great job on your reactions on abba, just love it
Why did it have to be me -australia -77 tour is fantastic!🤩
Gli arrangiamenti sono veramente fantastici come loro del resto
Abba are great fun to listen to.
You're both putting great videos out guys, good to see the channel growing & you both look like you're having fun 👍
Thank you Steve! Really appreciate all your support on our videos and love you’re enjoying them as much as we are!
This is cool love it I'm a metal head so cool love the style too kicks ass from sweden
They did release a new album last year, awesome, still got the vibe and the sound.
Two kinds of people out there: those who like ABBA and Liars.
For a good live version listen to Voulze Voue which will get you moving on your seat. Another is Does Your Mother Know and of course Dancing Queen. Two others you'd like are The Name of the Game and Knowing Me Knowing You. So many more it will take months to go through them all. Enjoy.
I forget how old I am so I am always surprised people don't know ABBA because I grew up with them//lol..
Memories of roller skating with flashing lights, hands in the air, tube socks, short shorts and feathered hair... My favorite ABBA song!
Swedens big band in the 70s and 80s !
👍👍👍🇸🇪😎💕
Knowing Me Knowing You is hauntingly beautiful, Fernando is different etc etc etc :) Keep going with Abba :)
Just love ABBA thanks
There's a great live version of Does Your Mother Know here on UA-cam. They always brought killer musicians on tour and sounded as great as the recordings.
Thx , For the best live performances, I allow myself to advise you "hole in your soul" (rock), "Summer night city" (disco) and the beautiful ballad "slipping through my fingers"😊
Great! You really should do "Does your mother know", to get to see the guys take lead!😊
Good idea!!
You are gonna love Dancing Queen
Just so you guys understand how big ABBA truly were. They are the second best selling group of all time! Only second to The Beatles. They had more than 400 million records sold. If you include solo artists they are like number five of all time. Number one beeing Elvis of course.
But the thing is, almost all their songs were a hit! They were a big hit machine. It's almost hard to find a single bad song that they did. Therefore you should keep reacting to them, they have many good songs.
/Sending some love from a real swede!
Parabéns pela reação. Adorei. Sugiro does mother e hole your soul ao vivo
ABBA is just pure Gold of music
Lasse Hallström totally nailed it ;-)
I seen them in concert in they were fantastic.
Wow what a band ABBA super great thanks love the channel
