Nice to see you guys doing a video together especially about cleaning windows the traditional way. I always find a lot of negativity from guys who only wfp, some only having gotten in to the game recently with no experience of trad or ladder work. Most of my work I do trad style and I don’t need a lecture on health and safety, which is better or other derogatory names people call trad cleaners on the forums. I keep very busy and am continuously getting new work and people are very happy with my work.

It was good fun to do the video together. Personally I think there is a place for both trad and wfp

You’ll always get work because people prefer the ‘old skool’ I’ve lost count of the amount of times people have told me they don’t like the wfp method.. I do both and think that’s the best way to be, many strings and all that.

Great informative video, traditional is king. A great soap mixture I'm using right now is A mixture with some of the best chemicals!
    - Titan GG4
    - Winsol super slip
    - Squeegee off
Spider mess gets melted, so it really does produce a good, quick and easy job for the regular residentials. Be careful when handling these chemicals! Thanks 👍

I’ve been window cleaning since I was 18 I’m 28 now and i am absolutely gob smacked by the amount of window cleaners who do not know how to traditional window clean. Before I could even WFP my dad taught me how to traditional clean a window. Was helping a mate out last year with his crew and they were mesmerised when I got my trad gear on to tackle some awkward windows, literally just stood there in oar like what I didn’t even know people still doing traditional window cleaning like it’s an old art from the Victorian times. In my eyes if you can’t trad you are not a window cleaner

    • @squeakycleandave1

Years before I became a window cleaner I used to go and help a buddy of mine out doing trad when he was really busy then when we started WFP as a job we made sure we could do trad so we could do insides so I was acting up for the camera a bit on the video.
Doing trad is an art and it takes practice to do it well and fast. But things change and are made easier to learn so you don't have to learn to do trad anymore to earn a good wage and do a good job.

Like Peter said...there is no right, or wrong, everyone has their own technique.
I like to feather the top edge first, for example, reason being, that less soapy water is on the squeegee as it parachutes down....works every time.
This method is far better than " cutting in", because the leading edge is full of soap, which can easily leave a trailing line in the window.
If you can create a ,what I call " dry zone " , at the top of the window, with feathering, then that is the best way to NOT leave streaks.
9 time's out of 10, its the incorrect loading on the squeegee, of too much soap, caused by the cutting in method.
Window cleaners think they have to change their squeegee rubber, when in fact it is the incorrect method that causes streaks.
My rubber lasts me 6/7months on one side , then I turn it over.
Great 👍 video guys, hope my information helps....

@@stompinknowledge3968yes..no problem. Basically , instead of starting from the sides, with the squeegee, start from the very top edge.
Put the squeegee rubber to the top edge of the glass, horizontally, then move the squeegee down the window, forcing the water, from the very top , down, whilst not taking the rubber off the glass.
The better you start( take your time in starting), the better the results.
      Hope this helps

Can’t beat traditional and I’ll tell you why. I love wfp. Can’t beat it for speed and convenience. But the difference is with trad when I walk away I am 100% confident that window is pristine. With wfp no matter how good you think you are or how good you rinse sometimes things go wrong. Filters get clogged. Shit happens. Either way I am never ever 100 % certain a window is perfect when I walk away unless I wait for it to dry!! Personally I’m charging more for trad because it takes longer and takes skills I’ve honed over ten years. Can teach a wfp in a hour. Not the same. Minimum 25% premium for using trad methods
