I'm also running the Elitewheels Edge myself. Really happy with this set which actually uses the same carbon rim as the Drive wheelset but with a matt finish (apparently the Edge wheels do not come with carbon spokes and are therefore a bit heavier). Still for this price - which is about half the cost of the Drive wheelset - the weight is phenomenal.
Our whole goal is to get almost everything from AliExpress. There are a few brands to choose but we like what Seraph can offer. They have their own factory, does their own lab test and they have custom paint job. We planning to go tubeless at a later so that we can compare the difference between tpu & tubeless setup (rather than tubeless than tpu later which will be messy). So far we heard a number of small issues for eRX, hence we decided not to get one at the moment.
Hi, what made you go with Seraph, as I am sure you likely also looked at Winspace, Elves, Trifox, ICAN etc. Seraph seems to have some well priced frames indeed. Just find their website confusing the way their frames are presented. Agree on the wheels, Elite seems to his the sweespot in terms of quality / price. Any issues with SG customs, or simply pay the GST and no delay in delivery ?
Our main reason is the price follow by the custom paint job. Winspace, Elves & ICAN probably will be the safest bet for durability and reliability. We have other plans for ICAN, maybe a gravel bike next year. We did consider Trifox early this year but it appears that there seem to be more QC issues. Elite is just too attractive for us haha. What we paid on AliExpress is the final price, did not have any problem with SG customs nor do we have to pay any other extra fees. No delay in delivery even though we had to wait 2 weeks for them to build the wheels (+1 week for delivery)
I’d frankly not heard of Seraph until your video. I’ve been in touch with ICAN, but they’ve pretty much given up on rim brakes and I’m looking at building a rim brake bike, having gotten a good deal on a 105 R7000 mechanical group set. Concur with your reservations on Trifox, despite they seem to offer the best value. Loon forward to following this build. Good work guys
@@larrypupkin there are many more interesting unknown brand in the market but so far Seraph ticks many things for us. Pretty sure we saw Seraph still making rim carbon frame. It's unfortunate for Trifox (one of the brand that we hope it will be good) because, frankly speaking, we've encountered more drawbacks than advantages regarding their frames from various online sources.
Yes indeed they do. I’m just trying to figure out the differences between frames. ICAN emailed me, after telling me they dropped rim frames, asking me what size I wanted. So maybe they will have something in the end. But now I have to move condo’s, due to green landlord, so project will be on hold for a bit. So will live vicariously thru watching your build in the meantime 😅

It's kinda one bike do it all due to budget constraint. knowing that we will be going overseas(usually its hilly), so having this setup will be useful. Erm primary reason is we are still weak D:

Beautiful frame!
Nice, waiting for the build
Coming soon!
Nice! Can't wait to see the full build👍🏻
We are almost done with the build, It looks amazing 🔥Just that the filming process is very messy hopefully we can get it out this coming week haha!
Finished building mine 2 years ago. 50mm elite carbons, frame forks, groupset (12 psd) and seat and helmet all carbon. Brakes ,cable operated hydraulic clappers 😊
Working on an all aliexpress build rn. Just waiting on all the parts to come in. This video gets me even more excited haha
Have fun! It's going to be epic! We had tons of fun building it :D
That frame looks like a madone at 1st sight.. 😅 .. damn chio! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽😁
Yep very chio! It does have some similarities but thankfully it's not an exact copy of madone 😅
When do you do a cost breakdown can you include the total cost/list of parts with their associated cost ?
We have included that in a form of spreadsheet which is in the description :)
Aside budget, What made you to decide you going for that frameset not with well known ChineseBrand? Also, why not tubeless and elec shifting?

please do a review for the wheels alone!
Will definitely do them in 1-2months time so far so good 👍🏻
@@WiserBiker good to know.. looking to get a set of lighter wheels coming from stock. Any bike shop to recommend for cassette swaps and rotors/tyres?

Oh no its a good thing u got that water bottle cage cheap cos those break easily with the contact on gels water and the friction of the water bottle
It's something that we are willing to try. Time will tell :D
No more excuse not to come onto my show
This is what we call peer pressure. We will contact you soon!

always wanted to build a superlight bike with aliexpress parts bought online, the thing is my wallet doesnt agree hahaha
sorry to hear that :( You can perhaps buy them part by part or just get a bike that fits your budget.
