So happy to see a young girl like you being into vintage perfumes! All these perfumes you mentioned in this video are really stunning and iconic. Congratulations! You have great taste! As a devoted vintage perfume lover and collector, please allow me to throw a few minor facts and tips about the perfumes you suggest in the video. a) Since Jean Louis Scherrer is not available everywhere in the globe, a very good alternative (more expensive though) is Sisley's Eau du Soir. The scent is very close to Scherrer's and it's in eau de parfum concentration which means that it lasts for hours! b) Montana (both the couturier and this perfume) were very popular in Europe back in 80's. The fragrance is still available in some online stores but I believe that recent editions are somewhat lighter. For those who are seeking a vintage bottle, in case they find the fragrance in a blue bottle and not in the classic frosted one, that's even better because the blue bottle is the eau de parfum edition (very very rare). As for Christian Lacroix, I have nothing to add. Everything you said was right and accurate. Truly a masterpiece!
Thank you so much for watching my videos and your nice comment. I love vintage in general (clothes, furniture) but I wear mostly vintage perfumes. Thank you for your correction. Eau de toilette by Montana is still strong but I was wondering if the Eau de parfum was still existing. I would be curious to see this beautiful blue bottle!
After watching your video I purchased Christian Lacroix 35ml edp. At first spray it smelled like rotten peaches but I was patient and the dry down was worth waiting for. It is magical and I could still smell this perfume next day on my skin. Sweet note in it smells like high quality concentrated honey with a hint of yellow and white flowers. One minute I smell only honey, few minutes later it is a French garden in full bloom. Just magical. And the bottle is a piece of art, probably my favourite out of 400 bottles in my collection. I was wondering why I love Diorissimo so much and than I figured out, it must be not only because lily of the valley is my favourite flower but it was also created in the year I was born and it is still my signature scent. Lovely video. Thank you Alice.
Thank you 😊 did you buy CL the shelf bottle vintage version ? I still have my little miniature. It’s very vanilla Ambery and the dry down is so pleasant. I prefer c’est la vie but this one is perfect for the beach! Very pleasant and original! The opening notes are gone now and I get more the vanilla sweetness vibe. I love diorissimo so much…. Perfect for this season now !
Hi Alice , What is the best 10 parfums for elegant woman of 70 years old ? Fresh , joix , bon humor and test amd with individual haracter , adaptet for 70 y old
Bonjour Alice!Really glad I found your channel! I have a bottle of Jean-Louis Scherrer on my dresser right now ! that a friend gave me in the 80s. I think I need a new bottle, yes? Does perfume go bad? When I take off the top and smell it it smells strong, but good, but afraid to wear! I have my eye on a couple vintage bottles on eBay but see your link to Amazon-Wouldn’t the older ones be much better? I’m new to all of this, excuse my newbie questions, look forward to learning more. 😊
I love your taste and collection! I started watching just so I could practice the French pronunciation for various perfumes, but I stayed because your tastes are similar to mine, and I think we may be around the same age. I love unisex, vintage chypres, almost exclusively in the French style. You have a wonderful take on fragrance profiles and really give some love to classic scents that many people find too "challenging" these days. I love chypres, oakmoss, and anything with Muguet. The prize of my collection is a 1950's baccarat bottle of Diorissimo with the original cloth atomizer. ^__^
Hello thank you 🥰 oh la la Diorissimo vintage bottles are just amazing. Diorrissimo is my signature perfume... such a dreamy lily of the valley. I like chypre, white flowers with an oriental vibe...I like challenging perfumes and sometimes I mix even 2 or 3 perfumes.
I had the Christian Lacroix shell bottle perfume in 125 mls and I sold it unopened. I have no idea what it smells like! But I had too many perfumes at the time.
Hi There, Thanks for the great video, I bought the Scherrer perfume, I love it, it’s so elegant and sophisticated, on me it’s quite unisex, I’m so happy I got it.
In the eighties Claude Montana perfume was the talk of the fragrance world. It was revolutionary in the design (a woman walking in motion ect.) The advertising for it was huge.
Hy!!, thanx for the Video!! You are a very positive, friendly mooded and beautiful woman! 👌👍You bring sunshine🌞 with your aura!!🌻. My opinion is that spicy fall and Winter fragrances dont change too much over the years( Opium, obsession both men and women, joop homme,shalimar,..All the dark and golden coloured perfumes. The light, floral, green summer scents often turn a little bit sour that you can smell 5 minutes after spraying and then the old smell comes through but more flat than it was in the beginning. You can still say Yes!! This is it!! But some ingredients got lost or changed through the years!! I fought( and really fought🐅) like a Tiger for the original Diorissimo from 1955 by edmont roudnitzka and then........it smelled like a cheap air freshener for the toilet eau de 🚽 🤣😂🤣😂......😭
Hello Michael thank you for your nice comment. Yes because of the new perfume regulation in USA and Europe, some ingredients have changed… oak moss, civet ect and they used to bring so much juice or character to perfumes… especially the civet…
Back in the 90s I got a perfume as a present from someone's mother who worked in a hotel boutique. I used it for a short time when the workers in the flat broke it by accident. I never found this perfume any more, forgot the name of it and learnt it from your video again what it was. Now I could buy it again. It is similar to the old version, but the dry down of the old version was so much better. Or I just think it was better....But I enjoy the memories the scent evokes.
@@Aliceinparisofficial I was so occupied with my memories, ( I actually remember the coat, and beautiful scarvesI loved wearing back then) that I forgot to write which perfume I was thinking of. It was Parfum de Peau by Montana.
Beautiful selection; impeccable! Might I ask, since you loved Parfum de Peau by Montana, have you tried La Nuit de Paco Rabanne? They were made by the same perfumer :)
@@Aliceinparisofficial even with your orientals, I find your choices stupendous! I adore Opium in both vintage and reformulated forms. If any, you can also hunt for Organza Indécence by Givenchy. Happy hunting!
Pity that these jewels are discontinued. I am sick with the sweetness and notes of new fragrances. They've gone from class to trash and from enigmatic sensual to cheap sexy
Thank you for watching my videos! Yes I wish that, instead of creating new "cheap" fragrance every year, brands would alllocate the money to produce discontinued perfumes...
I Also Love Chypre Fragrances & Appreciate This Video! Please Explain What You Mean By Liver Perfumes. Do You Mean Leather? Please Clarify This. Thank You So Much!
Bonjour.... thank you so much for watching my videos; Yes I mean "leather" and not liver :) Leather perfumes are also niche and very original. They don't suit to everybody and are very sophisticated. I like to wear leather perfumes during the winter and I will make a video about it.
Is a general rule that perfumes are divided to summer / winter /day / night? I am wondering. Is J. L. Sherrer similar to Chanel 19? I would like to buy it. Thank you. Very inspirational video! Well done!
I like to divide perfumes like that. I will review Chanel 19 but from what I remember scherrer is more earthy and white than Chanel 19. But yes there are similar as they are both cold earthy chypre perfumes
@@Aliceinparisofficial My father used to get it for me in Paris...not had new in decades tho seen a drop on eBay...opened bottles. I have kept it in a dark cool box for decades and it has held up. If I love the event...I will wear a drop. The very very best perfume ever. Wonder why it has never been returned in limited edition even. Good luck....advise if you hear anything. 😘
I bought the JLScherrer edt because I thought we may have similar tastes. I only found edt. It is really sophisticated and lovely, and I get compliments from my son and my colleagues.
Thank you 🥰 JLS is a great perfume. In Europe you can find the EDT but it is still difficult to find the EDP. I mean the EDP is rare. I personally prefer the EDP because the sillage is more long lasting
Closer to chanel 19 than eau du soir.. JLS is very cold with white flowers and galbanum while Eau du soir is very warm and the white flower is different
