    This is what I call living. Not being tied to anything. Just waking up on a whim, shoving some stuff in a rucksack and going to a train station with no idea where I’m gonna end up. This is freedom.

    You should jump on the train from Lincoln to Newark Notts ( 30 mins on train) and explore the lovely market town. Some beautiful Tudor buildings, a civil war museum, an old ruined castle ( all free to view). A beautiful walk along the riverside full of barges, locks etc. and plenty of old world pubs selling real ale. Some really nice cafes too. Then travel on to Nottingham.

    Great video! Wow, Lincoln looks amazing. That cathedral! I am an atheist, but I love the architecture of churches and cathedrals. It reminds me of York. It was refreshing to see the lack of diversity here. I don't care if that hurts the feelings of any lefty viewers. We are losing our country and this is a breath of fresh air. I live in Cornwall and would visit Lincoln. I am a Yorkshireman myself.

    • @akwiredtaste
      @akwiredtaste 27 днів тому +4

      That doesn't hurt my feelings 😃 although I'm neither a lefty or a righty. What does upset me, though, is you (or anyone) saying that you don't care about the feelings of others. That says far more about you than anything else you choose to say

      @@giorgipiorgiI have no problem with people speaking their mind, and I have no problem with what he said, but we have to remember that speaking our minds can reflect on us negatively as well as positively, and when someone quite brazenly says that they don’t care about other people’s feelings, they’re certainly entitled to say it, but they have to take in to account that it doesn’t paint them in a positive light or bathe them in glory, but as he doesn’t care about other people’s feelings, he won’t care one way or the other

    I use to live in Lincoln city from ages 14 till 25 met my first love at Skegness butlins and she lived in Lincoln with her mum .. we ended up buying the house her mum had and lived there for some years then had a son who still lives in Lincoln .. he’s making us proud and his exams this year in Lincoln .. Lincoln has came some way .. back in the 90s everyone knew everyone .. not at all now .. the university has brought some good but more bad to the city and a lot of people have said the same from the area.. but we all have to go with the times so good luck James thanks for some old views mate ❤

    I live just down the road from Lincoln. The Victorian prison is really interesting, but £17 is a bit steep on pricing to be honest. The fantastic Christmas market used to be held around the castle before the city council banned it for being "Too busy"!
    Also, the tank was invented and built in Lincoln!

    Back in the 1980's I worked for British rail engineering and had free travel on trains. my mate and I went to Lincoln. They were just starting to try and charge an entrance fee to the Cathedral! we just ignored it and went and sat and prayed for a couple of minutes then wandered round and a young chap offered us a trip to the top of the Tower for a modest fee we took him up and with a party of people made the climb to the top of the tower. it was amazing! We came down and both gave a donation for our trip!

    This looks like a fun little trip. I love doing local transportation where there are trains and buses. My friend and I would always do that on a cruise, we'd come into port and then I had already planned where the transportation was and off we'd go exploring. I'd love to go back in time too. I want to see how my ancestors would have lived and most certainly it would make you appreciate how much easier life is now. Great video James, this was a brilliant idea of how to take us along on an adventure. Beautiful Lincoln tour, looking forward to London.

    Re: Lincoln Video.
    My aunt was an avid stamp collector, she spent most of her spare time trawling philately fairs building an extensive global collection it was her lifes work. Our instructions when she died were to get a valuation from a reputable dealer she had, had contact with on Steephill in Lincoln. When we explained the size of the collection the Husband & Wife team agreed to visit our Aunts home for valuation purposes. The anticipation was enormous but the day of reckoning turned out to be an anticlimax. The collection was worthless explained the experts. Aunty had made the error most stamp collectors made and accrued a massive collection of high circulation crap.
    ' What we were hoping to see were the quality stamps of an edition... everyone has the low value stuff, but very few have invest in the more sought after expensive stamps. What you have here is a collection of easy to obtain quantity over quality explained the expert.
    Aunts stamp collection was rubbish but I think the appraisal from the Lincoln stamp experts was priceless.

    Wow James I went off line for a few days and you've done a world wide trip starting at Lincoln. On the subject of hill names, my son went to Bangor university and there is a hill in the middle of the town known as Bitch Hill, take a walk up it some day and you would agree. That's not it's real name of course which is 'For Fuc*s Sake Hill' Going down you can nearly fly. Can't' say I'm looking forward to your London video, kin hate the place, far too many people and the buildings are too high. Feels like it's all going to come crashing down on you, or I might have a disease. I'll watch it anyway.
