Worst experience ever. I now have to report my cars stolen and contact my legal. Don't do it.
For people wanting to get into turo. It’s all about the market and location. If the market is saturated you’ll have to compete with so many other options which means lowering your daily rates. I rented out a car in Hawaii for $120 a day. Where I currently live for the same car, I can’t charge more than $50 a day. It’s a decent side hustle but not as lucrative as it used to be a few years ago.

Congrats! Damn it sounds like your market is super strong. 51x30 is is only 1,530. How did you bring in that much from Turo with such a low daily price? I'd love to see screen share of your account and info on which protection plan your on, and also what your minimum trip lengths are. It would also be great to see what your expenses are also. How do you guys insure your private rentals? It makes sense that your private rental prices can get that high because it can still be about the same as what a Turo guest pays after all of the fees and insurance with a daily price of only half that.

I think what people need to know is what are total monthly expenses including one off things that happen like repair etc vs what the cars make every month subtract that and give us what your take home is and storage costs for a fleet of this size also costs for staff if you have it or expenses for uber or lyft to do dropoffs.

We have our own SOP but use HQ rentals as our booking software.

What about car mileage for those older cars over 10yrs old you have listed? Isnt the cap like 130k miles? Even if the car passes 130k, Turo still allows the car on Turo?

I believe they pay all cash
LLC and then with BofA you can personally guarantee your car in your LLC until you have 2 years. Insurance - LULA Insurance. They cover private and Turo.
I have a serious question. Right now I’m in the process of rebuilding my credit and when I do I’m gonna start my turo business and apply for a business loan. Is it a good idea to apply for a business loan to start my turo business and buy 5 cash cars and one luxury/car note vehicle to start with and build from there ?
What do you mean when you say on private, meaning off turo just a private deal between you and the client?

Not a bad idea as long as you set the pricing for the auto pricing.
Hey Max, you mentioned that you did $1981 with your ‘17 Malibu on Turo. If you were at 100% utilization your daily rate is $66/day. Does that rent for $66/day, it just seems high for a Malibu. But then you also said your renting it at $51/day which then the math doesn’t add up?
We had some days where we rented to $89 per day on turo. That was in our busy month.

We buy all of our vehicles from private party and dealer auctions.

I’m having a tough time. Please help with advice. I have 8 cars. 2011 to 2016. Right at 100k miles. Breakdowns is killing me. I do so much maintenance but always seems to be something. Dodge journey had crankshaft sensor go out. 2013 grand caravan had alternator die on a rental. Mini cooper belt tensioner was $1400. Focus transmission module was $1900. I saw you have terrain. I have 2014 Acadia Denali. Worst luck ever. 2 power steering pumps. Rack and pinion. Renter scratch up whole side. Took 2 months to fix. Then it was impounded in Tucson for 2 months. Got it back transmission broke. $5000. Now, bam, recall. I am in so far with Acadia I would loose like $10k if I sold it. What are your thoughts on all these breakdowns I’m having? I wanted to get cars that are a little different because There are like 200 Nissan versas Kia rios and Hyundai Elantras. If I had a Elantra how does it get picked over all the other exact cars? More than just price? How do you find private party selling a car? Facebook marketplace? I bought all mine from Carfax website of small car lots.
We sell all of our cars before 100k miles and buy them around 30-40k. At or around 100k miles is when cars start to have problems. People pick cars based on photos, descriptions, pricing, locations and other options. We sell cars on Craigslist, Facebook and Offerup. The best place to buy cars is private party and dealers auctions (if you are able to).

Anyone who thinks owning a fleet comprised of Ford, Chevy or any GM vehicle will learn really quick the profits will be wiped really quick with maintenance. Do a quick search on most of these vehicles and you will see a ton of recalls, class actions lawsuits, and crazy mechanical issues. They may have gotten lucky….but this video only covers revenue. No talk of deprecation. Little talk of maintenance. All of these UA-camrs don’t know what they don’t know. I would caution anyone thinking of patterning their Turo fleet after this. Most of these vehicles aren’t even in production anymore…..guess why?

They're selling their cars like a bad hot potato at 100k miles. Maybe that is the secret sauce? Yeah they won't last after the first 100k miles without emptying your wallet.

@@jacobamaral for every 3 economy cars add something like a Vette or mustang, I don't suggest starting off with those two. I got fleet of 7 I do have a 2018 mustang just recently purchased and my economy cars are kicking azz

Our exit for each vehicle is based on mile and year. We do not want to hold anything over 100k miles and over 10 years old.

I'd guess they sell them to the public on their own lot, which they probably already had before doing turo?
Would you recommend a 2020 or newer jetta r-line on turo? I see some people are renting them on there for like $35/day which is so low when they cost 20k+ used. But then again it is June, and i am in AZ also.
Make sure you do your research. We typically see 10% every month of the vehicles value. So if it is a $20,000 vehicle we want to make $2,000 every month on average (gross revenue).
@@kingofrentals That seems completely impossible through an Arizona summer. Are you booking out your cars every day through June-Sep? Are you talking overall annually divided by 12? So you factor in the busy season through Feb-April?

Just in the process of buying my first car for turo. Do you recommend used or new? If new, I am looking at a NIssan Versa, Sentra, Toyotoa Corolla. They are all about $25k. How much should I put as a down payment? Also it seems hard to make money because these same cars in my area (I am in Southern California) rent for $30 to $35 a day. If I buy used then how many miles should the car have on it? What is your recommendation?
Used is the best way to get a deal. Those brands are great but rent out very cheap on apps like Turo. Also buying from dealerships are hard to get good deals from!
@@kingofrentals So then where do you buy the vehicles from? --- Just from local mom and pop independent dealerships? They do not allow you to put the car in your LLC name if you finance with them. I spoke to a few and they said only in your personal name. Unless I secured financing on my own an then went to them. What do you think is the best car to go with for a first timer on Turo?
@@TheProjectManager100 your right it’s very hard to finance in LLC name. Buy it in your name then pay off the loan right away. Once paid off you can change ownership to business.

@@amonpangalala3329 insurance is through Turo off the split you do with them. You can get additional insurance outside of that as well. Not sure I understand your other question but you can get a car in your personal name using your personal credit or you can put it under your LLC

Would like to see what your REAL numbers are. It's nice to see what you are grossing, but you are misleading everyone by not showing your expenses, starting with Turo's cut. New people will think you actually got all that money, when it's not even close. Will you be sharing a full breakdown showing NET profit?
