Hello Russell, my question for you I’m from from Boston Massachusetts, what could happen in Russia to carry unlicensed firearms ? Massachusetts law is so stupidity, one year jail automatic to carry unlicensed firearms.
I actually did not know there was such a thing in Russia! That is just one of the things I love about your channel - you show us a side of Russia that many do not even know exists! 😶❤
Just a normal hunting store. Sports are sports. Laws differ from country to country. It’s just that criminals who use guns as their tool don’t give up their tool just bc it’s illegal. Criminals are making a living from breaking the law. Ppl who think problems are solved and go away if everything is banned or made illegal has not been thinking hard enough. 99% of people who are not criminals has made it illegal for themselves to carry guns, knife or something else only to become a victim. England has a ban on firearms but as we have seen lately, people are instead using kitchen knives to kill each other. Criminals will always find a way. The question is if the 99% can get together and agree that problems don’t get solved the way we have tried the past 70y?
Unfortunately Russia has some of the toughest gun laws in Europe. Semi automatics are heavily restricted (since 2021) and hand guns are only available to the friends of government. The best place to actually be allowed to own a Russia semi auto is the EU or Serbia.

@@pandrdoberman see, I've heard the opposite - that in the parts of the US where every adult has a rifle, a pistol and often a shotgun, everyone is much more respectful to each other. To the point where they leave their doors unlocked when they leave the house during the day, and keep their main long arm in their truck for everyone to see. This is the mire of the Internet, it's often hard to know what's true...
The problem is that now, we in the US require firearms more for safety than before. Too many sanctuary cities with illegal gangs running around which wasn’t a thing 4 years ago and it definitely not an issue where Russel is.
Мы также очень мало планировали это видео. Оно действительно говорило очень хорошо. Я был впечатлен, особенно, когда мы впервые встретились в магазине заранее.
As a gun enthusiast who has several of them, I am happy to see the ownership is possible in Russia. It may be more work to get one, but I know I can eventually get one. I wish you would have focused on the prices of the guns and accessories. I would have liked to see the prices and how they compare with prices in the US.

We only have a few gun shops here in the Uk with very strict rules on gun ownership. A whole mall dedicted to guns and all that goes with them would be a dream come true. Many thanks for this video Russell, another reason to move to Russia.😊👍💞
You can apply for a license and get a break-action shotgun (or rubber-bullet less-than-lethal pistol) right away. It just takes a month to process the license. After 2 years of owning a non-magazine fed shotgun, you can buy a magazine-fed shotgun (bolt action, pump action, or semi-auto). Then, 5 years after getting your initial license, you can get a rifle.

In Spain it is impossible to have a firearm, every night I see wild boars destroying the garden or grass near the house and you can't do anything. and it is not an animal in extinction here
Man Australia has got this guy all nervous about guns...you can tell he is like child that has never shot one...i think alot of people dont know just how awesome and fun guns are instead of looking at them like shopping for a casket
This is delightful and very unexpected. I think this would be a happy surprise for a lot of American people, the airgun part alone is amazing. I have heard of several airgun stores in all of the US, I have been their customer. I have never seen anything like this in person! There's some Olympic level stuff in view there, maybe in the vertical cases we see in the background, with dozens of adjustments and things sticking out everywhere.... I think I saw a few familiar air pistols in one of the cases that I have here, but many of them share styling elements. Some of those "weapons" are astonishingly accurate, quiet and only used for paper targets. This might be the most comprehensive such store anywhere? Some of these things are really not toys, some of those rifles might cost several thousand easily, some pistols are as much a two thousand US, before you start getting custom grips and things. I'm only five minutes in to the video here.
I didn't see anything out in the open, other than a few scopes on rifle stocks so you can view through them everything was under glass. So I don't think shop lifting is a problem. You surely don't want to go to jail in Russia.
@@TravellingwithRussell you need to head to the states. Find a gun ftiendly state. Tour a US gun shop then hit the range with a nice assortment. Guns are fun, guns are tools. They're not to be feared or revered. Respect the danger, and you'll be just fine.
As an American I'm impressed. That's not the impression we are given about Russian stores or products. But. You really need to see the Bass Pro Shops store in Memphis. If you can survive getting there. It's impressive

Privet Russel! Gun nut from hunting country here - South Africa. That looks like heaven! Our leading chain of outfitters called Safari Outdoor have a very similar line of goods, apart from firearms and air rifles . Very interesting to hear about Russian licensing requirements. In SA, one is generally limited to four firearms, handgun, shotgun/s, rifle/s for occasional sport shooting or hunting. There is no legal limit for a dedicated sport shooter, hunter, or a collector, providing you can motivate for a weapon convincingly enough. Each type of firearm requires competency training, which includes the law surrounding the use thereof. A handgun or shotgun for self-defence is allowed, again with sufficient motivation. By implication, use of deadly force is allowed in certain well defined defensive situations. All firearms have to be locked away in a police approved safe or strong room when not under the direct control of the licence holder. Obtaining a licence can take a very long time, mainly due to the inefficiency of the police Central Firearm Registry in Pretoria. I absolutely hope to visit Russia when tours are resumed, hopefully in the not too distant future. Большое спасибо!
I found it very interesting. More people should make videos like this. I like Max's comment "it is never too late to learn" you should have taken the time to go to the range with him and get some hands on experience. You would have enjoyed it! You can look at prices and offers on Russian websites selling optics. Prices have now increased due to military operations, a simple optical sight can cost $800, thermal imaging two three thousand dollars or more depending on the model or brand. Russian and Belarusian optics are cheaper, but not much.

The Ammo is incredibly cheap, If im reading the number right, the 7.62x54r is 34 rubles, thats like 40 cents, here they are like 25 dollars thats over 2000 rubles

Up until the late 1980's all KMART stores across Australia had quite an extensive range of firearms/accessories and reloading equipment in their sporting goods department. From Daisey BB guns right through large calibre rifles and shotguns. No pistols

Hi Russel, you're a bit wrong regarding the licensing. There are multiple types of gun licenses available in Russia which just take 1 month to collect and process the necessary papers: 1) short barrel self defence guns license (i.e. you may purchase a limited power firearm with rubber bullets), 2) a single(double) shot long barrel hunting shotgun license (which allows you to buy a non-magazine shotgun), 3) collector's license (which allows purchase of whatever firearm with limited right to shoot it) 4) Sport gun license (which allows you to buy any gun but you may not carry it outside the shooting range). You may buy a magazine-fed shotgun after 1 year of a single shot shotgun ownership. And you may buy a long barrel rifle after 5 years of a shotgun ownership.
How is the hunting regulations then? Can you hunt anything else but ducks and other birds with the shotgun or are you limited to only duck hunting for those 5 years? Can you legaly hunt lets say an elk or boar with a double barrelled shotgun?
@@thesayxx yes, you may hunt an elk or a boar with a double barreled shotgun, with a few limitations: 1) you need to get a hunting permit to hunt this particular type of animals. 2) you must use pellet sizes above certain values: above 5mm diameter to shoot deers and above 7.5mm to shot boars.
@@sirAenuHlaalu666 Oh nice. I've heard that 12ga slugs like Poleva and such were and still are popular with hunters to take down medium to large game. The pellet size restrictions is similar to our power restrictions when it comes to medium and big game (you cant hunt a boar or an elk with a .22lr or other small calibres, it has to have a certain amount of Joules for different species of animals). Shotgun hunting was also very popular back in the day, but a surplus of mouser rifles in the 60s and 70s phased out shotguns, and now legally you're only allowed to hunt small game like rabbits, fox, badger, geese etc. with them. Thank you for your reply, and happy hunting. All the best from Slovenia :)
I'm very certain you cant buy a functioning automatic legally no matter what license you have. And as I understand it, you can only own a rifle after several years of owning a shotgun
Awesome, a month for a shotgun not bad. I didn't even know could buy firearms there or knew the laws to acquire. I wonder about live fire handguns? Didn't see any.
Handguns aren't available to general population, you need a special permit (cops, ex-military and some others can get those), except for civilian self-defense gas and rubber bullet pistols. And you could buy a hunting rifle or a civilian carbine since times of Russian Empire, throughout the Soviet era. In Stalin's times hunting rifles weren't even regulated really. Only after a few cases of armed robberies by gangs armed with those laws were changed. Just like in US you can have semi-auto version of AK, AR etc. Modifying those for burst or full auto fire is strictly illegal of course, increasing magazine capacity also illegal.

Thank you so much for all these great informative videos. Love the content! In germany you need to get a license first, wich you can only apply for if youre a hunter or like a sports shooter - im not quite sure but I also think its only a temporary license wich you have to renew or apply for every 3-5 years.

I own a Glock 44 and Marlin Long Rifle. Being in the U.S. I hope the law abiding Russian Citizens can have the opportunity to own a firearms for self defense, besides using it for hunting. Self Defense is our God given right to protect ourselves, family and the ones we love. The terrorist attacks in Moscow are an example that bad people with guns can take advantage of unarmed citizens. If law-abiding Russian citizens were able to conceal and carry their own firearms, they could have stopped those attackers sooner and more lives would have been saved. My condolences to those people who lost their lives that day. The U.S. has the 2nd Amendment Rights to Keep and Bear Arms as it's stated in our Constitution and Russia should have the same laws for it's citizens. Training, background checks and licensing is standard here in the U.S. to keep firearms out of the hands of Felons. That doesn't always stop felons though, but they go straight to prison if they are caught. Many immigrants coming to the U.S. for the past 60 years are intimidated by our gun laws, because they can't own a firearm unless they go through an extensive federal background check first. Any red flags will prohibit them from purchasing. Many immigrants who may have a conceal permit from their country may be accepted in the U.S. under some restrictions. The U.S. Liberal Democrats try to impose gun more gun laws, but it gets thrown out as Unconstitutional and forget about the millions of law abiding citizens who stand their ground from the Tyranny of the government imposing those laws. The Tyrants will always be looking down a barrel facing back at them which our 2nd Amendment Rights always keeps that level playing field in the U.S. That our U.S. government works for We the People! We don't work for them! I would like to see the Russians have the same freedom to protect their lives and others as well having that option for self defense. Every generation in the U.S. for the last 60 years have been steered towards surrendering their gun rights, instead of fighting for it! The Russians have the right to protect their lives from bad people and hope that you will have the opportunity to own firearms that can pack more of a punch for self defense in the near future! low power rifles may slow down the assailant, but real ammo gets the job done sooner! ✌😊

I think the Russian said 1 month to get a licence to own a shotgun, 3 years for magazine fed and 5 years for center rim ammunition.

I think I saw a few familiar air pistols in one of the cases that I have here, but many of them share styling elements. Some of those "weapons" are astonishingly accurate, quiet and only used for paper targets. This might be the most comprehensive such store anywhere?

Thank you, that was useful
Wow! What a wonderful store! What a treat!
Awesome, a month for a shotgun not bad. I didn't even know could buy firearms there or knew the laws to acquire. I wonder about live fire handguns? Didn't see any.
Handguns are banned in Russia

Tfw year after year, Russia becomes more like the US, while the US becomes more like Russia
US becomes more like Ukraine
Nothing common.
It's funny how you can't get rid of that american delusion. The real meaning of what you wrote is Russia is getting a better place to live while the US is getting worse. But in your head somehow the US equals good. I am not insulted by both of your statements. They are just weird. Never ever would I want Russia to become like the US in any way.
@@gogaonzhezhora8640 Why do you assume what I think? This is about both good and bad. If you want to talk about negatives, Russia is becoming more capitalist and less socialist. That's a fact. For some, especially businesses, that's good. For many it's also bad. I know Russians who think about saving money for their child's college education even before they even have children. That wasn't even a concern in a socialist system.
@@dicecorporation In Russia, education is free, with the exception of private (fee-paying) schools. Parents will pay for the child's education at the university only if he studies very poorly and the total score in all subjects studied does not reach a passing score.
