Ardal O'Hanlon is an outstanding actor (and just as a background, I can tell this after six decades of watching films and actors by the hundreds, made in Hungary (my country), Czech, Slovakian, Russian, Irish, British, American, Chinese, French and Italian, Indonesian and German etc., all kinds, from avantgarde up to Marvel entertainments, embracing almost the whole film history ). He should be in world class films, important roles.
Lovely interview, moving in its honesty. This show reminded me, way out here in Canada, about how much I want to know more about Irish history. It's so easy to make judgements on what appears to have been a religious war. I'm on it. Thank you.
I am an Irishman who lived in Canada for a spell, and I did find that local people when they raised this topic (and a lot of them did raise it), tended to reduce it to a religious thing, when it’s really about one group of people being favoured above the other by the ruling regime, and thus getting most of the land, money and power. I am glad though that Canada managed to avoid the Troubles type situation that we had, given the political tensions between English and French speakers, the FLQ and October crisis aside.
I can relate and I'm not even Irish!, I'd get grounded for showing off!, what bollox is that?...I let my girls express themselves fully and subsequently they are not meek, shy or withdrawn...I just say thank god they are out there in the world now and not deafening me with their exuberance!
Although basically previously unknown to me, I absolutely loved him on the most recent series of Taskmaster - it kicked off my UA-cam rabbit trail & lead me here!
Whatvmakes chair comfortable is his knees are slightly raised above his hip and so relieves pressure on lower back. I discovered this accidentally by sitting in a chair with rather short legs that put me in such a comfortable position. Alsobthe hip t thigh length of cushion was just right unlik th current too wide cushions for those under 5.8ft
Edmund Hilary went to Auckland Grammar as a board. His physical education master told him he was a little runt who would never amount to anything. Next minnit..
What's your gripe?...it's a very lonely place for a lot of kids, not his fault his parents were in a position to send him there. Wouldn't you rather be home and going to school with your friends daily rather than living in with a bunch of random kids and teachers?, He's been very honest. He didn't love it, end of.

I agree about his ability!
How did you discover Ardal, just out of interest?
@apakabaranahun As an Irishman, I think i'd prefer to listen to you being interviewed.
Would love to hear Ardal comment on the making of "My Hero." That series was hilarious.
Certainly enjoyed this interview. I have huge crush on him, I hope I can attend one of his stand up someday. I hope this pandemic ends soon!!!!

I would LOVE to see him in some of the panel shows. I hope he changes his mind about that. What a joy that would be!

Ardal should do his own podcast
Very honest interview
You let Dougal do an arrest?
I really like those chairs too.
Cheers from Montana US
"We know everything about them" he says about the English. What an extraordinary statement.
Which part does he talk about Father Ted then??

He didn’t choose it. Watch your reverse snobbery and your jealousy issues as they will eat you.
