- A modern troubadour, Chris Stapleton paid his dues for years in Nashville, gigging on in bars and finding success behind the scenes before seemingly becoming an overnight sensation with the success of his version of “Tennessee Whiskey.” Penning hits for some of country music’s biggest artists, including George Strait, Kenny Chesney, and Luke Bryan, Chris earned a reputation as a talented and sought-after songwriter. That same talent for emotive songwriting paired with his own soulful voice has been rewarded with multiple Grammy, CMA, and ACM awards and several critically acclaimed solo albums, including “Traveller,” “From A Room: Volume 1,” and 2” and “Starting Over.” Every troubadour needs a special guitar. We are honored to announce our partnership with Chris Stapleton and the release of the limited edition Chris Stapleton Frontier.
The USA-built Epiphone Frontier is the perfect partner for his soulful voice. The Chris Stapleton Frontier features a thermally aged Sitka spruce top, figured maple back and sides, and double engraved pickguards with the classic Frontier lariat and cactus motif.
Only 300 guitars will be produced by the expert luthiers and craftspeople in Bozeman, Montana, as part of this very special limited run.

Thank you, Epiphone, for sun bursting the back! Love to have this along with the Epiphone Texan! Who better than for Chris to commentate on this. Super songwriter, player & singer!
@@jonoz4089 Sometimes backs don't have the sunburst. I just wish Epiphone would've had a Fishman preamp in there instead of LR Baggs.
Chris is such an immense talent
Beautiful guitar. Chris your national anthem was phenomenal.
Well said. I've had my Epiphone Les Paul for around 26 years and I'll never sell it.
Considering the role the J45 has played and the impact it has had in Chris's music, he absolutely deserves at Gibson Signature model!!
Chris deserves a signature guitar!
I'm REALLY hoping Fender gives him a signature Jazzmaster.
Chris nailed it. A reliable, road worthy guitar is invaluable. And this one has a great heritage to boot. Love it!
I managed to get one of these at the weekend(had to trade my two fenders which I didn’t really play)
Oh my god I’ve hardly slept, I have never had a guitar that I could not put down, and I include my les Paul in that.
Absolutely fantastic guitar
That double pick guard looks INCREDIBLE..MIKE CAMPBELL has a Dove with the double pick guard and it’s so damn awesome
Thank you Chris for this absolutely great instrument. I was on a search for a bigger body size guitar with great sound, looks and playability. An instrument that would inspire me to write many great songs. Yesterday evening I found out the news that this guitar was released and one was available at a dealer in the Netherlands. I took the day off from work today and was at the shop early in the morning. From the moment I played this one I was totally hooked and addicted to it. The sound of the spruce together with the maple back and sides really did it for me. Besides strumming this guitar plays so easy also when fingerpicking and really sings also playing very gently. I tried many high end guitars of other high end brands also much more expensive but these did not do it for me. This Frontier is so beautiful also visually and really worth it. If you are serious about your passion and music this will bring you to the next level. It's that good and a guitar for life. So this was one of the best days and off course I went home with the Frontier. Thanks again Chris and Epiphone for making this possible. Happy guitar greetings from the Netherlands. Chris (yes same name :)
Since the Steeldrivers, I've been following your music. Congratulations on the Epiphone.. That's All You!!
AMAZING GUITAR! Honestly my dream guitar.... If it was all black. Epiphone, call me! haha Chris you killed it.
Anybody else that would sell their soul for a guitar lesson with this guy?
I have a 65 FT110N that I have had for decades. It is one of the best sounding acoustics I have ever played. I bought it at Dave's Guitar in La Crosse, WI in the early 90s. I played a ton of acoustics looking for THE ONE. It came down to the Frontier and a 67 J200. The Gibson was $2700 and the Frontier was $750 and they were very close tonally, but I didn't have $2700 to grab that J200, so it was the Frontier. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS GUITAR!!! Haven't had the chance to play the Stapleton signature or the USA Collection Frontier, but I bet they are great. My only comment is that I like the vintage narrow headstock style that's on my 65 than the wider style on these, but that's purely aesthetics. Really dig the dual pick guards.
An amazing guitar for an outstanding player. Chris has amazing taste. To bad I can’t afford one. 😂
@@LeeGee
True, but unless a person already has that money saved up they won’t be getting one of these before they are sold out.
Beautiful!
I love my Frontier.
Love this guitar. Only guitar with double pickguard I ever liked
I got the frontier and the texan and they are spectacularly awsome.
Never knew he was instrumental in coaxing Gibson to bring it on...
Thanks man
Can't wait to see you two nights in a row in Georgia come August, Chris
Epiphone is my favorite guitar brand right now. The Lee Malia guitars got me looking. Then they made an Adam Jones Les Paul and I bought one. Now they've created this and I have to have it. Sure I want a Gibson but they just aren't willing to take the chances. Epiphone is being used as a test bed for certain products and I think it's a great idea.
Chris is such a cool dude
Beautiful, beautiful guitar
I own two Epiphone acoustics. One is an EJ-200SCE and the other is a Masterbilt Century De Luxe. Jumbo acoustic guitars have such a big sound to them. The EJ is a brighter sounding guitar than the Century. Overall the Century has a more balanced refined tone but with a new set of strings the EJ sounds so good. I bought the Century with the intention of selling the EJ but I just can't bring myself to do it. Both of them are really great guitars. Epiphone is making some great guitars these days.
Well done Epiphone! 👍🏻
I’m going to see him Friday evening so I’ll definitely be looking for it. Can’t afford one but the opportunity to see him play it will suffice. Saving for his amplifier.
You can almost buy one with the price of a ticket to see him wow crazy prices right now on Tickets IMO
His amp is definitely worth it
He's speaking with such an American accent it's actually pushing the boundaries of the human speaking mechanism ;)
Huh? How dare he sound like where he’s from…
@@mr.smithgnrsmith7808 Gee, is a little sense of humor too much to ask?
Beautiful guitar!
Nice looking guitar.
If it wasn't $6000 I would have bought one by now
I'm hoping Chris can next have a word with Fender about putting out a $4k Squier.
Chris has great taste in music, his #1 is Tom Petty, and is my #1 too
What's The Price Chris ? Thank You Sir . 🏅🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🏅🇺🇸
So he has an amp with fender & guitar with Gibson? That’s a win
Hell of a guitar
Man , Epiphone so much quality today , purchased Epi Les Paul with locking tuners and burst buckers . Real workmanship . Guess Gibson is kicking some ass outside US !
I was just looking this up and it looks like epiphone does make some models still in the USA and cost as much as your typical gibson. Just a different headstock and logo, but same price point.
But yeah, there are plenty of good quality guitars being made outside of the states. I love my MIM Strat. Just bought a Danelectro that’s made in Korea and don’t really have many complaints about
Idk who this dude is but that is one beautiful looking guitar right there.
Check out The Steel Drivers and The Jompson Brothers.
Joy
I would always have angst that the top could be vibrating and projecting more without it being 60% glued to plastic.
Nice acoustic!
Humble guy
Looks great and in this instance I believe Stapleton when he says it's a quality instrument.
Unfortunately the limited number and price means this is of no interest to the vast majority of players beyond the academic.
Its not an actual Epiphone as we know it today.
I was wondering how they got that guitar to look so identical and high quality as a Gibson does.
It's because it is a literal Made in USA Gibson but with an Epiphone headset.
You're paying $3K for a Gibson guitar that has an Epiphone headstock. Kinda weird.
🤠 Nice!
OK I want one.
Take my money.....
A unipolar Guitar, looks fab, congratulations:)
Sign me up!
What is the relation between Gibson & Epiphone ? Love both, so good to see & to hear 💛
@gibson @epiphone It looks great! Could you please make it in affordable version too? Or remake the masterbilt version with Kalamazoo headstock? It looks beautiful with Kalamazoo headstock.
Hey Gibson/Epiphone I just want a J-200 with a pickguard design that doesn't scratch off in a month. The vintage ones didn't why do the new ones?
Talking about the guitar case tells you everything you need to know about the guitar.
Which is?
This guitar is 5k 😳
But what makes it a $5000US guitar?
Gibson, was this recorded on analog film? I'm in love with the look of it!
Fender make me a amp Gibson make me a guitar must be nice!🧠🤯🔫
FT-110’s are awesome. Tom Petty, Sheryl Crow & Noel Gallagher are just some who played them before. Chris is too cool for a Truss Rod cover it seems..
My wallet just gave a groan of dismay
where can I buy it?
More expensive than an actual 60s one
And for only $5k!
What???
@@tonymorgner9871 Truth insane amount of money for an Epiphone.
"And for only $5k"
@@rexrathtar3893 What???
Guess I need to sell my Taylor…
Damn thats a great looking guitar. Really wanna see one in person..i thought there was a filter on the camera or something they were filming with. Looks very 60s
Didn’t the Beetles use these guitars?
$4k y’all. This isn’t a gigging musician’s guitar at that price.
It would have been a great to get a budget made-in-Asia but all-solid wood model from Epiphone for like $800 to $1200… that would be something that most working musicians could afford IMHO
They're made in America
It’s 4999 dollars
It's also USA handcrafted acoustic instrument of premium detail. $4k really isn't unfair for the caliber of instrument it's reissuing.
You can get just that, only difference is that it only has one pickguard
@@TheSammyreynolds Yes, that is what I am saying. Glad your reading comprehension is top notch.
$5,000??? 😳
I was thinking the samething. Can buy a Gibson Dove or Hummingbird for that.
I love the guitar and I love Chris and his music but if I’m going to drop 5k on a guitar, I’m going to buy a Martin or a Gibson. Nothing wrong with an epiphone (i have a ej200.)
The double pickguard hinders the movement of the top.
For $5000!? My SJ 200 Standard cost less than that.
wouldnt want it
Only for $5000 + Tax ☠️
5000$ really bro lmfao. I pass.
Bro $5k? Lollll
$4k for an Epiphone? Yikes.
That’s what I thought until I played it 😅
this guitar is $4000 USD… yikes
Don't raise the price on guitars, especially during a depression. I bought all my Epiphone guitars for less than $800 a piece.
Compare apples with apples. I'm guessing your sub-$800 Epis were a different beast to this guitar.
This isn't really an Epiphone. It's a Gibson Montana built guitar with Epiphone on the headstock.
$5k for an Epiphone = No Thanks!
If you want a cheap, Asian-made Epiphone, there are plenty out there. If you baulk at the idea of paying Gibson-style prices for an American-made, quality, limited-run Epiphone, this is not aimed at you.
@Rex Rathtar Yeah, I paid $1700 for a mint used Heritage Custom one of a kind, hand made in the original Gibson plant in Kalamazoo MI, USA. So yeah... There's that. 🤪
@@guitarandmore69 What's your point? It's aimed at people who are willing to pay $5k for an Epiphone. By your own testimony, that's not you. What's your mint used Heritage got to do with the price of tea in China?
@@rexrathtar3893 Review your own comment on my post and give it a minute. Maybe you'll get it...
Now reissue the original Sheraton with the Frequensator tailpiece!
A real bargain at just $4,999! Only 300 were made! Be sure to get yours now!
Nice how they put these out of reach financially for the average live player. You think they would want to sell these??? $5000 grand - seriously! You could get a 2 actual Gibson J45s for the price of 1 of these!!! How is that possible!
You would think he would get a real Gibson. Not a cheap ass epiphone...
can we hear the damn guitar?
