I started to read Adorning the Dark by Andrew Peterson, but I haven't finished it yet. Sounds like I should read it again! ❤ Haha I resonate with reading too many books at once 😂 I agree with you about the Narnia series, Lydia! You have articulated so well what CS Lewis accomplishes through his stories. I am currently reading "The Horse and His Boy" now, and I adored "The Magician's Nephew". I agree, the first book made me yearn for Heaven and helped me to understand God better (through how CS Lewis wrote about Aslan). It's so powerful and it helped me so much! The land of Narnia reminds us to keep our eyes fixed heavenward! Sorry if I rambled for a bit there, Lydia! But thank you for this video, you have done such a good job! I do hope you are doing well! Bless you Lydia ❤
Thanks for the “ramble”, Jasmine!!!!! It was beautiful. I do the same all of the time- it is impossible not to share how special things impact us, isn’t it?
@@emmajo4880 Awww that's so sweet of you to say! ❤ Yes, some things are just so inspiring and so influential that we just really want to share them! Bless you!
I would love to read that book. The books I read mostly are theology books. I have peace now, knowing I can read creative writing as well. I relate to escaping from and not escaping to.. Thank you for clarifying that. I'll keep that in mind next time I choose books to read. ❤
I also loved this book. Lovely. The God of the Garden is also very good, and definitely recommended (though I had some critiques!). For me fantasy is good when it wrestles with rich and challenging themes. That's what I want. That and beautiful prose.
So you don't consider Catholic Christians as Christians? Do you only consider protestant christians as christians? What about Eastern Orthodox Christians, do you consider them as christians?
@@angel-_-_-_ I think what’s key is what we believe about salvation, as a Protestant I believe we’re saved by grace through faith. My views can be summed up in a book called “Nothing In My Hand I Bring” by Ray Galea. I talk about it in my video entitled “Even More Book Recommendations for Christian Readers” posted in April if you’re interested. God Bless you.
@@lydiahoughton I'm not sure you answered my question. Both Catholic Christians and Eastern Orthodox Christians believe in being saved by grace through faith, but they reject some protestant understandings of Faith Alone. Regardless my question was just do you consider Catholic Christians and Eastern Orthodox Christians to be Christians or not?

@@ronellaubscher so many books can glorify God, not just strictly theology books! Thanks for watching, I’m so glad you found the video useful ❤️
Sounds a wonderful book. And I am a huge Wingfeather fan. So many good books and so little time!

If you like Peterson's focus on mental health, you'll like God of the Garden.
