Thanks Brian... excellent review. If... If i was in the market its high on my list with the X5 and CX70. Ford has some pretty good performance cars... ST, Mustang, and F150 4x4 with 5.0 liter

Yeah, this drives like it was developed by the same team that does their performance vehicles and I suspect it was.

The Explorer was designed as a police vehicle 1st, family vehicle 2nd. A LOT of the design decisions make WAY more sense when looked at through that lens.

The police vehicle version is very different, especially in internal components, than the consumer retail version.

What is surprising to me, Ford does not make a two row version of this, like a Grand Cherokee. That two row is what would be good for you. For me the three row works. I think they can reduce price amd sell a two row.

Ford should just put a coyote in one 😢

It is a good looking SUV, as,good as an older Ranger Rover. Interior functionality suffers. We bought a Honda Pilot a few months ago because naturally aspirated V6 and reliability. Hopefully Ford improved reliability as when I checked this vehicle when it was introduced it was a joke and a disaster.

Agree, very bad interior quality, you can actually see some of the interior plastic trim pieces coming off. It is a powerful car yet the quality control problems Ford has will make it way less reliable than Japanese rivals

Not touching any Ford turbo engine. The Coyote is bulletproof. These ecoboosts are not hybrids with great economy, but instead they go boom and will easily offset any so called fuel savings with huge repair or replacement bills. You will see Coyote engined Fords on the road 20 years later, best of luck with out of warranty ecoboosts

And in the UK they only sell the bloody Electric version - nothing new in 2025 with either a petrol or diesel engine. Same for the last 10 years - the Explorers were great cars with rubbish powertrains that made it a slugger in treacle. This version, the ST, would sell like hotcakes in the UK and likely out sell Range Rover and Audi Q series by a statute mile - Ford, like many car manufacturers, have lost the plot.

Great video but I will never buy a Ecoboost garbage engine. These are disastrous engines.
Ford should put those 4.0L V6 or 5.0L V8 in this vehicle instead absolutely disastrous Ecoboost. What is wrong with Honda and Ford, they both have garbage engines.

You don’t know what you are talking about! I have owned more than 13 Ford with this engine and never had a single problem!
